Each year REI participates in the American Hiking Society's National Trails Day event by helping to beautify local parks and trails. For 2012, we'll be participating with the Chattahoochee River National Recreation Area at two locations. This registration is for the Sope Creek location. We will also have a project at the Powers Island unit. Please only register for one location. We will be helping improve many of the trails at both of these sites. We will need lots of hands to finish trails, and dig in the dirt. There will be ample work for all ages and abilities. The first 100 participants at each site will receive a wicking REI Volunteer t-shirt as well as an REI coupon. A small lunch will be provided after the project. Bring some snacks, along with water and a reusable water bottle. If you are a family with children age 12 and under we have a unique opportunity at the Powers Island location. REI is partnering with Pebble Tossers, an organization specializing in service projects for children to engage the entire family. Volunteers should bring work gloves and wear long pants as well as closed toed shoes. Any participant with bee sting allergies should bring their Epipen.Required Legal Form:This course requires the participant to read and sign a liability release form before participating. Please see "Required Legal Form" for the session you are registering for. You will need to print, sign and bring the form to your class.
