2012 Election Thread

So you really don't want Obama for 4 more years?

Here's hoping the Republican party can wake up and realize there is NO beating Obama without Ron Paul. (Unless Obama totally self destructs, which is doubtful at best) If Paul is not the nominee, Paul supporters will either write him in, stay home or vote third party. Why you ask? Because none of the other candidates offer any real change or contrast to the current President.

What the party needs to realize is whatever percentage Paul is pulling at the end of the primary cycle, they have lost. Period. It's not coming back. Paul supporters will not hold their nose and simply get behind the nominee like all the others because they actually believe in their guy. He's not just the lesser of the evils. The other thing they will lose are most of the Independents and an entire host of disenchanted Democrats who now support Paul.

Paul's biggest hurdle is and always has been getting the Republican nomination. The rest would be a cake walk and both Parties at the establishment level know it... If you need some proof, look at national polling of two way match-ups between the different candidates and Obama. Paul and Romney are normally neck and neck with Obama while the others lag behind. In the most recent of these polls, Paul is closer to Obama than all others. Wiki has a great page or two that complies all 2012 election cycle polls and you can see them in chronological order...

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationwide_opinion_polling_for_the_United_States_presidential_election,_2012

There is also a link to see just the polls tracking Republican primary match-ups.

Notice, while the others have come and gone. Paul's numbers show a slow but steady rise with no volatility. Gingrich, Cain, Romney, have all polled over 50% at times only to get knocked back down to reality. Most interesting is while Paul normally only polls in the teens nationally with Republican voters, he can still nearly tie and sometimes best Obama in one on one national match-ups. This is because these national polls include Independents and Democrats.

On the Democratic side, I think folks underestimate how frustrated Obama's base is with his continuation of the Bush Doctrine of foreign intervention, Especially when he repeatedly promised to end Iraq within months of his inauguration. This combined with Paul's, already established, popularity with Independents would make him a much more viable foe that any of the others IF beating Obama is really the goal...

I think it's stupid to not back one of the other candidates. Its absolutely stupidity to think that the nominee will not repeal Obama care and cut regulation. Not every president gets to have the opportunity to be praised as the guy that pulled America out of a depression.

Whoever wins will be revered as highly as Reagan was, and the last thing we need is Obama getting another 4 years to mess that up or take credit for our conservative that take back the senate and bulling Obama enough to get our country out of the hole.

Understand that many Conservatives will back Ron Paul if he's the Nominee, I think it's fair that Independents will do the same for Conservatives.

How is any one else going to "pull America out of recession" when they are not willing to cut any real spending. The debt is what will turn us into a third world country! Sure, there may be some repeal of the worst parts of Obama care but I really don't believe that will happen either. Integrity matters. The other fellows have life long records or back peddling, pandering and flat out lying. To believe they will be the hero that turns things around is to bury your head in the sand and completely ignore their history. Beside, as stated before, unless Obama self destructs, no one can beat him unless Paul is on the ticket. That is a simple fact of life. Everyone was just as desperate to beat Obama in '08 but McCain was a weak candidate and an easy target. Mitt, Rick & Newt are more of the same except they will be a much easier target than McCain was. That coupled with the zillions of dollars Obama will have to drag out their laundry, they will be toast in short order...

Here we go again!

How quickly we forget what a third candidate does to us, the dem wins, it is that simple.

The Dem's put up a guy that should not be a city councilman and if our candidates grandfather had gas in 1920, he is unelectable. We pull our hair and gnash our teeth and they just smile and move along.

If we do get congress back, remember Clinton?

The republicans fixed the economy and Clinton gets all the credit while we help destroy several of our own.

And, a Washington outsider?

That is also stupid, that is what we have now with Obama and look at where that is going. Give me a rough, tough, no nonsense person that is not afraid to hire and fire. Male or Female, it doesn't matter and lets not fixate on one statement made years ago and say that it is his "overriding viewpoint". In my opinion, the two people who would fix this country but the Republicans have allowed one to already be destroyed and the the other soon will be.

Get ready America,

I fear we will have Obama for another four year: if not more (remember FDR? With Obama's disregard for the law, do not doubt it)

The Republicans need to pick one person and go 100% behind them.

On October 20, 2011, Barack Hussein Obama II filed for placement, as a presidential candidate, on the 2012 New Hampshire ballot. In accordance with Sections 655-17b and 655-47 of the New Hampshire election code, candidate Obama swore that he is qualified to be a candidate for president of the United State pursuant to article II, section I, clause 4, of the United States Constitution, which states that “No person except natural born citizen … shall be eligible to the office of President…” Through other admissions of Mr. Obama it is obvious that his declaration is false. It is uncontested that Mr. Obama’s father was never a U.S. Citizen. This fact is supported by Mr. Obama’s own statements, including a book written by Mr. Obama, and a birth certificate asserted by Mr. Obama to be his own. This fact has also published as a true fact by the U.S. Department of State. The United States Supreme Court has defined “natural born citizen” under article II, section I, clause 4, of the United States Constitution to mean “all children born in a country of parents who were its citizens.” See Minor v. Happersett, 88 U.S. 162, 167 (1875). Because Mr. Obama’s father was not a U.S. citizen, Mr. Obama can never be a “natural born citizen” under article II, section I, clause 4, of the United States Constitution, as defined by the U.S. Supreme Court. Therefore, he cannot be qualified to hold the office of President.

Obama held dual US-Kenyan citizenship from December 12, 1963 until August 4, 1984, his 23rd birthday. However, he became a Kenyan “citizen by birth” on August 4, 2010, the day on which Kenya adopted a revised constitution. Chapter 3, Section 14 of the 2010 constitution provides as follows: “A person is a citizen by birth if on the day of the person’s birth, whether or not the person is born in Kenya, either the mother or father of the person is a citizen (of Kenya).”

Also according to vital statistics coding protocols in 1961 the race of his father is “not stated” and, therefore, according to the Model State Vital Statistics Act of 1942 (MSVSA) and the VSIM issued by the National Center for Health Statistics (NCHS), Obama’s race must be classified by his mother’s race when the father’s race is reported as “not stated” or “not classifiable”. Therefore, since his mother’s race is classified as “1 ... White”, according to the reporting code found scribed next to her race on the image, Obama is “white” according to the NCHS.
