Each member of the House and Senate gets a certain number of tickets to the Obama Inaugural to dole out as they see fit. So what do you do with the tickets if there isn't someone in a U.S. Senate seat right now?
That's the conundrum for Inaugural officials, who aren't quite sure if there will be someone officially replacing Barack Obama in his Senate seat from Illinois.
And who knows what's going to happen with the Senate seat from Minnesota, where a recount between Sen. Norm Coleman and Democrat Al Franken is sure to run into the New Year, and maybe past the first day of the new Congress on January 6.
House members get about 200 tickets for the Inaugural. Senators get about twice that amount.
So, close to 800 tickets for two Senators are in limbo - which is a lot when you think about that they probably aren't in the cheap seats a few blocks from the Capitol.
