I don't know if it would really have the force of law, but some in the Congress want to cut Gov. Rod Blagojevitch of Illinois out of a major economic stimulus bill .
So when the House Appropriations Committee approved the spending portion of the stimulus bill, two members from Illinois inserted some anti-Blagojevitch language.
In black and white language, it prevents Gov. Blagojevitch from directing how money from the feds in this stimulus plan should be used.
Instead, the bill says the Illinois State Legislature should be in charge of the money, not the Governor.
The provision would still have to pass muster with the full House and Senate.
The House is expected to vote on the bill next week.
It's an interesting idea - but I wouldn't bet that it would hold up in a court of law.
