There is no worse tyranny than to force a man to pay for what he does not want merely because you think it would be good for him.  -- Robert Heinlein

ANOTHER DAY TO CELEBRATE

As you begin this day you need to know that it was on this day in 1861 that the federal government levied an income tax for the first time.  The income tax was later found to be unconstitutional.  In a moment of depravity the legislatures of the various states later approved the 16th Amendment to our Constitution ...

and it's pretty much been downhill from there.

Order the book.  Know your

enemy.

THEY'RE STILL OUT THERE ... DON'T FORGET THEM

The hatred for America and all "infidels" remains strong.  A car bomb killed at least ten and injured dozens at the J.W. Marriot Hotel in Jakarta, Indonesia this morning.  This bombing hits as the trial of an Islamic murderer is drawing to a close in Indonesia.  This is the Islamic goon being tried for the Bali nightclub bombing last year.  I'm sure it won't take much to convince you that this American target was hit by those peace-loving Muslims.

Sooner or later this type of violence is going to return to America.  We must not forget the burning desire that exists in the hearts of so many of these Muslim fanatics to kill as many Americans as possible.

Today you will undoubtedly hear Muslims repeating the "religion of peace" mantra.   Do you ever get the idea that this is all by design?  One group is sent out to preach the "religion of peace" stuff, while the other group is sent out to slaughter Americans.

In the meantime our wonderful airport security screeners are getting ready to make your flying experience more enjoyable.  Small electronics are the target now.  If you're flying with cell phones, laptops or other small electronic devices you can expect an extra look.  Evidently there is some increased concern that these items could be turned into weapons.

OK ...

so they're going to take a closer look at your electronics.  Electronics don't have rights.  Electronics can't file complaints over electronic profiling.  When are we going to put this extra level of scrutiny on travelers from Muslim countries and people with an Arabic or Middle Eastern appearance?  So, here we go again looking for the weapons, instead of looking for the terrorists.   Everybody is owed due process under our laws, but our adherence to leftist political correctness is going to cost American lives.

YIKES!

The Kobe Bryant fiasco has caused a listener to write to tell me about his experiences with the women of Vail (Eagle County), Colorado.  Hey, I don't necessarily agree with him, but it's worth passing on!

I moved from Atlanta to Vail to attend culinary school and spent a year there.  "Any port in a storm" definitely applies.  One has to acclimate to much more than just the altitude, but dearth of attractive women.  Also, the male-female ratio in the valley is about five to one.  Only after returning back to the south was I finally aware of what had become considered 'attractive' in women.  To make matters worse, these howlers out there cop an attitude because of all the male attention they get.  I have personally seen better looking livestock.  If any advice can be given to fathers whose daughters want to move to a ski town, hint - she ain't going for the powder days.  She will spend far more time with her feet in the air than in ski boots.

Howlers?  I don't believe I've heard that one before.

COME ON NOW, BE SPECIFIC

I hear more and more condemnation of the Fox News Channel from the media and the great unwashed.  There is a problem, though. I keep hearing that Fox News is biased.  It's slanted.  They're just a bunch of right-wing monsters.  I hear that nonsense over and over ...

and ever any specific examples.

We can see what's happened here.  The left viewed the rising fortunes of Fox News with alarm.  Their grip on the media was slipping ...

and there were some upstarts out there who might actually cover some of the facts and stories that the captive leftist press just wouldn't touch.  So, the word went out.  Fox is biased.  Fox is right wing, and Fox is not to be trusted.  Now we hear these words being parroted by Democratic myrmidons who know absolutely nothing of what they speak.

So ...

again, let's hear it!  Let's hear the specifics.  Where is the right-wing bias.  Call the show today and let me know.  We're waiting.

Congratulations to a great guy.  Larry Munson has been named the college football broadcaster of the year.

TEXAS SHOULD BE EMBARRASSED

Sheila Jackson Lee, the incredibly dense congresswoman from Houston, Texas, has done it again.  What in the hell do they have in the water down there that would cause people to vote for this ridiculous human being anyway?

You do remember what this absurd woman did several years ago, don't you?  NASA, which happens to be headquartered in Houston, was having a press conference to discuss an unmanned vehicle that was on its way to the planet Mars.  Ms. Sheila Jackson Lee astounded every third-grader in her district by asking if that Mars explorer would be able to get a picture of that American flag that the astronauts left up there.  Your government schools at work, I guess.

Well .. here's the latest from the Shame of Texas.  Sheila Jackson Lee is upset with all of the white names they're giving Hurricanes.  No ...

I'm not kidding.  I could work for weeks and not come up with anything so ridiculously stupid.  She really is upset about all of those white names, and she wants some black names stuck in there.  Let's see ...

we could have Hurricane Lakeisha.  Then there's Hurricane Beotis.  Hurricane Beotis would come by its name in an odd way.  A reporter could ask a black weatherman "What is the name of that Hurricane?"  The weatherman could respond "its name be Otis."

Uh oh.  Am I being insensitive here?  Well ...

good!  I'm trying to be.  A stupid idea such as this should only be met by derision.

Hey, as long as we're giving black names to hurricanes, why not use some the names of some famous blacks?  Hurricane Snoop Dog has a ring to it.  A small tropical storm that doesn't amount to much could be named Hurricane Puff Diddy.  If some hurricane is developing a path that could take around the South of Florida and bring it in the back door, we could name that one Hurricane Kobe.

The sad truth here is that the people who live in Sheila Jackson Lees district might as well be unrepresented in Washington.  How is any serious policy maker going to listen to anything this woman proposes without saying to themselves, "Yeah, this is the same woman who thinks that astronauts visited Mars and who wants black names on hurricanes.  Let's really pay attention to what she has to say."

By the way, did you hear about Hurricane J-Lo?  The real damage was done by the trailing edge.

JUST A FEW INTEMPERATE THOUGHTS

Dixie Chicks?  Sure, I do like the music, but I just can't bring myself to go see them in concert.  First of all, I don't want to put any money in their pockets.  Secondly, I'm sure I would be looking at Natalie singing and see Roger More.

Some apologist group for urban outdoorsmen says that Atlanta is the fifth "meanest" city in the country.  Apparently Atlanta is bullying the homeless.  Not enough, in my estimation.

If I were a police officer I would hit the expressways during the next heavy rain and look for people driving with their emergency flashers on.  I would then take their car keys and tell them they can come pick them up when the rain stops.  Damn ... we're just letting too many people on our highways.

Someone wrote today to tell me never to stop doing Nealz Nuze.  I suspect this web page will be around long after I've retired from talk radio.  It just pisses too many people off NOT to do it.

I dropped a punch line in Nealz Nuze yesterday.  Told the beginning of the joke on the air, and put the punch line at the end of the reading assignment.  It's still there.  Overnight I received about 130 e-mails from people who couldn't find the punch line.  This goes hand in hand with the statistic that 40% of Internet users don't know how to scroll or use links.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Bruce Bartley writes that over the past few weeks George Bush has started to come in for some criticism from conservatives.  My question is what the hell took them so long?

OK ...

so just what happens if it turns out that Saddam had no weapons of mass destruction?  Here is one of the best common-sense columns on the subject that I've seen.

Democrats in California are threatening to begin an immediate recall drive to unseat any Republican who might replace their hideous governor Gray Davis.  If you understand the demeanor of Democrats, you won't be surprised.

Pond scum telemarkets are coming up with some clever ways to get around the national "Do Not Call" registry.  Read this ...

And just why don't teenagers wear seatbelts?  Because they're afraid that it might wrinkle their clothes.  Yet another reason why these menaces shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel of a car.

And speaking of who shouldn't be allowed behind the wheel of a car, here's a collection for you from The Obscure Store

  1. Man run over and killed by his own car.  Age - 73.  http://www.stltoday.com/stltoday/news/stories.nsf/News/8FE9095B520C862B86256D78001711C6?OpenDocument&

  2. Another man manages to get run over by his own Dodge camper.  Age - 71.  http://www.zwire.com/site/news.cfm?BRD=1866&dept_id=135446&newsid=9947512&PAG=461&rfi=9

  3. And here we have a multi-car accident caused by a man driving the wrong way on I-195 in Mass.  Age --- 88.  http://www.turnto10.com/news/2379374/detail.html

  4. Moving right along here, a man kills his identical twin when he mistakes the gas pedal for the brake pedal.  Stop me if you've heard this one before.  http://www.ctnow.com/hc-twindeath0802.artaug02.story

  5. And we finish up with a man who lost part of his "driving" foot to diabetes.  He has arthritis and congestive heart failure.  His memory ain't what it used to be and he pops about 16 pills every day.  Some of those pills carry warnings that they could make him sleepy.  He is by-God keeping his car keys, thank you very much.  Age - 87.  http://www.ajc.com/sunday/content/epaper/editions/sunday/living_f3b27e11b49981ee0019.html

They call this a "train wreck" that is just waiting to happen.  Just how soon will our country experience its first chemical attack?

The Episcopalians are ready to vote on the selection of a gay Bishop.  Suddenly here comes an e-mail message saying that Gene Robinson inappropriately "touched" another male.  The vote is postponed.

It was just a few years ago that liberals were beating the drums about "Clinton haters."  Now that these very same liberals seem to be brimming over with a burning antipathy against George Bush, where is the "Bush haters" label?

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/billmurchison/bm20030805.shtml

Since these government indoctrination camps we call "public schools" are starting to gin up around the country, maybe you should read this column by Phillis Schlafly on just how much our young 'uns know about American history.  Maybe you should consider the idea that there are many out there who don't want our children to know much about American history.  A true knowledge of our history wouldn't be all that beneficial to the left.

http://www.townhall.com/columnists/phyllisschlafly/ps20030804.shtml

I listed a column on this subject yesterday ...

here's more.  The Detroit Lions are now the target of a racial shakedown.
