The "private sector" of the economy is, in fact, the "voluntary" sector; and...the "public sector" is, in fact, the "coercive" sector. -- Henry Hazlitt
WELCOME TO THE NEW NEALZ NUZE Well, here it is. The new Boortz.com and Nealz Nuze. Pretty much everything you found on the old page can be found here, plus more. The old Boortz.com and Nealz Nuze was the work of one and only one individual, and that would be me. I did it all. Much of the time devoted to the website would be better spent on the show, so we've turned over the primary responsibility to Laura, Nicole and Craig of Cox Interactive. As for Nealz Nuze, all of the program notes and reading assignments will still be prepared by me. The CXRI folks have actually taught me just enough html coding to prepare these notes and then plug them into the site every morning. Here are some of the advantages of the new Boortz.com
Also, it seemed just a little bit absurd to have one of the top-five talk radio websites and not try to make a few bucks off it ... so you might notice a bit of advertising here or there. So, that brings us to the final point. I'm finally going to make some money off of this.
THE BLACKOUT FROM UP YONDER Below is a picture from space .. a picture taken the night of the now-infamous blackout. Amazing, isnt' it? Well, don't be too impressed. The picture is real .. the blacked out area is a fake. As bad as the blackout was, it wasn't that extensive. For the true story go to Snopes.com. Whatis amazing is hwo much electricity we're actually generating in this country.![]() SOME GOOD NEWS The latest L.A. Times opinion polls in California show Democratic Lt. Governor Cruz Bustamante leading with 35% of the vote. Arnold Schwarzenegger is in second place with 22% and Tom McClintock is now in double digits with 12%. Again ... I'm pulling for Bustamante. He has already announced that his wonderful solution to the problem caused by California's tax-and-spendthrift ways is to tax even more ... but only rich people. Democrats bragged about what a wonderful thing this country was going to see when Democrats got full control in California. Well, there they are, and it certainly is a spectacle to watch. Let's not interrupt this wonderful show just yet. Mixed with some bad news. You can bet the farm that there is going to be huge amount of voter fraud in this California election. Illegal aliens will be voting by the thousands. You don't think Democrats fight so hard against the idea of voters showing identification just to hear themselves whine, do you? NAME YOUR ENEMY The Islamic goon squad that called "Hamas" has declared George W. Bush to be the "biggest enemy of Islam." The Hamas jackals seem to be upset because Bush has frozen the assets of certain Hamas leaders, this after Hamas claimed responsibility for last week's attacked on a packed bus in Israel. While George Bush may or not be Islam's greatest enemy, it is a certainty that Islam is perhaps the greatest foreign enemy of the American people. Now I say "foreign enemy" because I absolutely believe that the threat posed to our freedom and economic liberty by the left in general, and the Democratic party in particular, constitutes a greater threat to our future than Hamas or its violent Muslim followers. As for Bush being Islam's greatest enemy. That's a good thing. The world certainly needs more enemies of Islam ... at least until Islam gets its radical elements under control. ANTI-CAPITALISTS AND THE ENVIRONMENT I've been telling you for years that for much of the so-called environmental movement the concern isn't as much about the environment as it is about fighting capitalism and free enterprise. With the fall of that great experiment in communism, the Soviet Union, anti-capitalists needed a new home. What could be better than to find a new base of operations where the anti-individualist, anti-free enterprise dogma could be cloaked in a cause shared by most well-meaning people. Anti-capitalists found that cause in the environment. Who, after all, doesn't want clean air to breath and water to drink? Who doesn't want to save beautiful mountain vistas and pristine seashores? The environmental movement in America and around the world is now almost completely infiltrated by discredited fascists, communists, socialists and various other varieties of anti-capitalists. They oppose, for instance, exploration for new sources of oil not out of a true concern for the environment, but because they recognize that oil is one of the primary fuels for the engine of free commerce, and they want that engine shut down. The Kyoto treaty was based on such flawed science that no rational conclusion can be drawn other than that the treaty was designed to choke the economic engine of most capitalist western nations while clearing the way for the state-owned industrial machines of the third world. The fact that the United States, the world's leader in capitalism, has rejected the treaty is a source of never-ending, teeth grinding dismay to the eco-communists. In the past week or so we've had another series of arson fires for which a group called the Earth Liberation Front has claimed credit. These fires have targeted million-dollar homes in Michigan and SUV dealerships in California. If you go to the Earth Liberation Front website you'll see an article entitled "Setting Fires with Electrical Times - an Earth Liberation Front Guide" You will also find this statement: "The ELF realizes the profit motive caused and reinforced by the capitalist society is destroying all life on this planet." There you are, my friends. The admission that, at least for the ELF, their pseudo-environmentalism is merely cover for their left-wing anti-capitalist designs. Expensive homes and SUVs are targeted not because of any damage they may or may not do to our environment, but simply because they are conspicuous examples of capitalist consumption by the evil, hated "wealthy." By hiding behind a faux concern for the environment these socialists and communists are damaging a cause that many American's truly believe in. Somehow the true environmental movement needs to find a way to shove these anti-capitalist frauds aside so that the cause of clean air and water and pristine vistas can find a spokesman untainted by class envy and anti-individualism. A STEP TOO FAR OK .. I like the idea of red light cameras. Just stand on the corner and watch traffic at almost any urban traffic light. You will almost ALWAYS see someone run the light after it changes. The red light camera doesn't do anything a police office standing at that corner couldn't do. If you're going to oppose the idea of the camera, then consistency would demand that you also oppose the idea of posting a cop at the intersection to look for red light runners. You either run the red light, or you don't. It's pretty much up to you. Things get a little fuzzier when it comes to cameras catching speeders. In many cases speed limits exist and are enforced for economic rather than traffic safety reasons. Studies have shown that in some cases the safest drivers on the expressways are those who stick to the left lanes and drive from 10 to 15 miles per hour above the posted limit. Some of the most dangerous drivers, other than drunks, are those who get into the left two lanes and drive the speed limit, which just happens to be slower than the flow of traffic. When is the last time you saw one of these imbeciles get a ticket? This all brings us to England. The British government is proposing a system that would be installed in every car in Great Britain. The devise would sensors at the side of the road to record each time the driver goes over the speed limit or drifts into a bus-only lane. British authorities also say the devise would be helpful in tracking stolen cars. So ... why would I support red light cameras and oppose this little goody in your car? Simple ... this puts the cop into the car with you, riding right there next to you, watching every move. Something like this catches on and the next thing you know we have Baptists wanting to put cameras in bedrooms to make sure couples are doing it only the way the Lord wants them to. By the way, if British citizens manage to convince their politicians that this isn't a good idea, that may not be enough. The European Union, the same group of idiots that want circus acrobats and high wire walkers to wear helmets, is considering mandating the system throughout Europe. THE RULE OF LAW PREVAILS The State of Alabama has removed Chief Justice Roy Moore from the Alabama Supreme Court Bench. Moore, as you know, defied a federal court order to remove that monument with the Ten Commandments from the Alabama Judicial Building. This isn't about the Ten Commandments. It isn't about Christianity. It isn't about loving Jesus. It's about the rule of law. Roy Moore said that the Ten Commandments were there in that courthouse to acknowledge God and Christian morality as the vary basis of American law. Sorry, nice thought ... but it doesn't wash. Christianity isn't the only religion out there that frowns on such human actions as murder. Sooooo ... I thought I would give you something to really hate me for today. We, as Americans citizens living under a promise of religious freedom, get to chose the God we worship. If fact, we get to chose to worship no God if we wish. The government, though, has but one "god," if you want to call it that. Maybe it sounds better if we call it a "supreme entity." That supreme entity is the rule of law. Our society has worked for so long because our government, with its exclusive power of coercion, has a finely defined set of laws that it must follow. We, as it citizens, or "subjects," if you will, are supposed to know just what our government can and cannot do to us or for us under our laws. There's no freelancing. We know that when we work and acquire property, the government can't just come and seize it without following some Constitutional standards and due process requirements. Unless, that is, we live in Alabaster, Alabama. (But that's another story.) We also know that we are free to develop our own religious views, and to follow those views without government interference, so long as we don't seek to use force or fraud on another. As we follow our religions whims our government is supposed to pretty well leave us alone, neither hindering us nor guiding us. Roy Moore felt differently. He felt it necessary to use government facilities to promote a particular set of religious beliefs. Thankfully, this time, the rule of law prevailed ... just as it should. MAYBE THESE IDIOTS ARE JUST GETTING WHAT THEY DESERVE Every time I hear it on the radio it drives me absolutely nuts! The commercial is usually for a cheaper make of car. The announcers, and there are usually two of them, are generally screaming. Then come the insults to intelligence. "All credit applications accepted!" One screams. The other follows with "And well pay off your trade in no matter how much you owe!" Well, no s___, Sherlock. Of course they're going to pay off your clunker. How else can they take it in trade? Oh .. did they forget to tell you that they're going to include the difference between that payoff and what your clunker is worth in the amount they loan you for the new car? So, you accept credit applications. Big deal. Does this mean you approve them? Of course not! I can hear the phone call now: "Well, Mr. Clampett, we did accept your credit application, just as we said we would. It's just that the finance company turned you down for a loan! No, Mr. Clampett, we did accept it. We accepted the application; we just didn't make the loan." Back to the old adage, coined by me: The louder the commercial, the dumber they think their customers are. SO NOW WHAT DO THEY DO? John Geoghan is dead. Geoghan is a former Catholic priest and a convicted child molester. He was killed in a Massachusetts prison by a convicted murder named Joseph Druce. Druce is already serving a life sentence for murder. Druce will now be tried for the murder of Geoghan. Massachusetts doesn't have the death penalty. The harshest sentence Druce can receive is life in prison. But, hey! He already has that! Question: Why make the taxpayers of Massachusetts cover the expense of another trial? There is absolutely nothing else that can be done to Druce, so what's the point? Let the people of Massachusetts just sit around and contemplate their liberal anti-death penalty stance for a while. For the record, there hasn't been what you might call an outpouring of sympathy for John Geoghan. WAITING FOR THE IDIOTS TO STEP FORWARD The Justice Department is reporting that property crimes, which are crimes committed against your right to property, have declined almost 50 percent in the past 10 years. Violent crimes are also showing a decline, although not quite so spectacular. OK ... Now we sit back and wait for some left-wing idiot to come forward and ask why we have all those people in prison if the crime rates are so low. There's never a dull moment when you're out and about liberal-watching. READING ASSIGNMENTS Looks like we've managed to stir the puddin' in Alabaster! I gave Roy Moore a rough time in today's Nuze. So, here's
his equal time. NASCAR black flags Jesse Jackson. Ohhhhhh. "Black
flagged." Is that racist? Some California talk radio hosts are getting a bit full of
themselves. Uh oh. The media pique with Rupert Murdoch and his refusal
to toe the leftist line is boiling over. Now the BBC is calling Murdoch a
"capital imperialist." You do know that the left-wing assault on any media news
outlet even mildly perceived as conservative is not going to slow down, don't
you? Well, you knew that this was going to happen sooner rather
than later. New York Democrat Senator Charles Schumer wants the nation's power
distribution grid nationalized. For all-too-many politicians every single
problem we face, every single bump in the road, is nothing less than an excuse
to broaden the power of the Imperial Federal Government. Islamic terrorists from around the world are converging on
Iraq to fight Americans there. Actually, that's a lot more convenient than
fighting them over here, isn't it? All of this money that Kennedy and Bush poured into
government education was supposed to bring us some accountability. Students
were supposed to be required to meet minimum standards. Yeah, right. The money
is being spent, but the government education institution is working hard to
avoid the accountability that our tax dollars were supposed to buy. Drudge came up with this one last night. You do know that
much of the Middle East doesn't like Israel all that much, don't you? And you do
know that many in the Middle East think that the U.S.-led forces went into Iraq
to steal its oil, don't you? Well, in light of those feelings, who in the hell
was the idiot in the Pentagon who came up with the idea of building a pipeline
to pump oil from Iraq to Israel? What were some top-level Russians doing in Baghdad the
months before the U.S. led invasion? Were they there doing whatever they were
doing with Putin's blessings? Does this explain where Saddam's WMDs are? Robert Bork says that all of those people out there
worrying about civil liberties are actually putting our collective safety at
risk. Is it just me, or is that brunette trying to figure out whether to get the blue Jaguar, or the green one, hot? http://www.thereisnolinkhere.com/brunette=hot We're about to get a report on the Columbia disaster, and
it won't be gentle. |
