TUESDAY, DECEMBER 30, 2003INTEMPERATE THOUGHTS This morning I got up, took the beast out to water down some trees, and hopped in the car to go get some coffee and a newspaper. It was about 6:00 in Naples, Florida. I took note of all of the pickup trucks and vans on the road. Swimming pool maintenance companies, plumbers, tile contractors, carpet installers, landscapers, electricians. You name it, they were out there getting ready to start their work day. Two things occurred to me. One, In so many ways these people in these vans and pickups are the core of our country. They are out there every day engaging in the free trade of their labor and skills for dollars. This is free enterprise at work. You decide you don't want to spend your life working for someone else, so you buy a truck, load it down with chemicals and equipment, and set out please customers with the best possible customer service. You become a small American business .. the heart of our economy. And the second thing? These people aren't going to be found in a few weeks or months whining that their jobs have been sent to India. They are self-reliant Americans who's greatest fear is government interference with their ability to do their jobs for their customers. Hillary Clinton tops the list as the most admired woman in the United States. You can bet your entire checking account that it was America's women who put her in that spot. She's dishonest and cruel. She has nothing but disdain for the very people who profess their admiration for her. She despises the concept of individuality and property rights, and she even her leftist college professors at Yale referred to her as a socialist. In spite of all this this most dangerous politician in the United States is America's most admired female. At some time in our future this "most admired" woman could well preside over the destruction of economic liberty and personal freedom in America ... and it will be female voters who gave her the power to destroy this American dream. From hard-working Americans to entertainment royalty: Michael Jackson says that the cops dislocated his shoulder when he was being processed. It's a lie. Watch that video of Michael Jackson leaving the police station with his attorney after he was booked. First he raises his left arm over his head to wave to the crowd. Then he raises his right arm to flash the "V" sign. Guess what, folks. You don't raise your hands over year head to wave to your adoring fans within minutes after having your shoulder dislocated. Now we know that Michael Jackson is a liar. We just have to figure out whether or not he was lying about those little boys. If parents aren't going to discipline their kids. maybe we should figure out some way other adults can step in and "git er done." This shop owner in Little Haiti spanks a 13-year-old girl who richly deserved it. Put me on a jury and he walks. I've been telling you that Weasley Clark is the Clinton hand-picked candidate. Remember, Clark was fired from his Army command while Clinton was Commander in Chief. Clinton knows why he was fired. This gives Clinton the ability to torpedo Clark's candidacy when he chooses. Clark is to politically ignorant to realize this ... thus he plays along with Clinton, even using Clinton in a television ad. Bottom line: The last thing the Clintons want is for a Democrat to win in 2004. A FEW READING ASSIGNMENTS Sara Saga was kidnapped by her father and taken to Saudi Arabia at age 6. She escaped Saudi Arabia as an adult and now lives in California. Sara says"Every day I wake up and find more things about America that I love." Some of you who think that this country is so wrong need to read this. Thomas Sowell writes of the differences between two earthquakes ... one in America, the other in Iran. President Bush is starting to really rile up some conservatives who are really hard-line on things like asinine government spending. The Democrat's Death Wish. That's what David Limbaugh calls Howard Dean. I wonder if it occurs to some folks that those who believe in freedom and a sovereign America should sit back, be quiet, and let the Democrats self-destruct without any more warnings. A high school student in California writes a column for a high school club newsletter saying that it's time for a crackdown on illegal immigration. Now the principal us suggesting he needs to stay home for a few days for his own safety. Evidently the teachers refuse to protect him from his fellow students. Rich Lowry doesn't want to let the Democrats have their head either. He has 16 questions for Howard Dean. Some of you may not realize it, but it is politically incorrect for any nation led by a white person to take military action against any nation led by a non-white person, no matter how grave the threat that nation might pose. Here we have a senior Bishop in the Church of England slamming Tony Blair, calling him a "white vigilante" for invading Iraq. Michael Jackson's spokesman calls it quits. There are rumors, you know, that Louie the Lip's Nation of Islam has taken over the Jackson's affairs. RANDOM THOUGHTS AND READING ASSIGNMENTS FOR MONDAYYeah ... still on vacation. But I enjoy dropping a few thoughts here on the web page .. the more irreverent the better ... so here goes. Looking forward to 2004. This is going to be one of the better election years. We'll be broadcasting from Manchester, New Hampshire day before and the day of the New Hampshire primary, and we'll also be at the Democratic National Convention this year. Should be fun. Speaking of the election .. as the cover of National Review says, PLEASE nominate Howard Dean. Here is a man who isn't sure if Osama is guilty, and wants him tried in an international court of some kind. He attacks America, and Howard Dean wants him tried in an international court. This is a man who also said he would have more than happy to deal with Saddam Hussein, but only if the United Nations gave him permission. This is a man prepared to surrender the sovereignty of the United States as soon as he gets into office. Brenda Stokeley is the president of District Council 1707 of the American Federation of State, County and Municipal Employees (AFSCME). AFSCME recently endorsed Howard Dean. Stokeley was recently speaking to the Workers World Party national conference. During her speech she told the audience "The first thing we have to do is remind ourselves that we are fighting for socialism." Well, how do you like that? Endorsing socialism and endorsing Howard Dean; who, by the way, often states his determination to "re-regulate" American business when he occupies the Oval Office. If Brenda Stokeley is all ga ga over Howard Dean, just imagine how she's going to glow when Hillary runs. The death toll in Iran is steadily rising. Hope for finding any survivors in the earthquake rubble is almost gone. As the rescue and recovery efforts continue we hear this from Jahanbakhsh Khanjani, a spokesman for Iran's Interior Ministry: "The Islamic Republic of Iran accepts all kinds of humanitarian aid from all countries and international organizations with the exception of the Zionist regime." That means Iran will accept no help form Israel. Now there's a country that really cares about the welfare of its own people. Quite some religion, that Islam. A few years ago a school for girls caught on fire in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia. Muslim enforcers stopped little girls from escaping the building because they weren't veiled. Speaking of Islam .... General Electric is going to pull its advertising from the Paul Harvey syndicated radio program. Why? Because Muslims demand it, that's why. Muslims are upset because Harvey said that Islam is "a religion that encourages killing." Anyone out there see a problem with what Paul Harvey said? I don't. As for me, I really can't really see buying any GE product in the near future. While Muslims around the world preach violence and death to the "infidels" Muslim organizations in the United States and elsewhere insist that the media adhere to the official "Islam is a religion of peace" line or face actions such as the one taken by GE. Muslims can prove their love of peace by spending .. oh, say about three-fourths of the time they spend plotting against those critical of Islam in actual efforts to bring their radical elements under control. Moving to the Iowa caucuses. Let's say you and a few friends really want to see one candidate or another do well in Iowa. You get together some money and try to buy an advertisement promoting a particular issue supported by your chosen candidate on your local radio station. Sorry ... you can't. The campaign finance reform act has slammed the door in your face. Your right to political free speech has been trashed ... and the Supreme Court is going along with it. In the meantime, if you happen to be a columnist or on the editorial board of a local newspaper you can just hammer away. No restrictions. From irate politicians to mad cows. You just knew that this current mad cow scare would to lead to some grandstanding by politicians. New York Senator Chuckie Schumer is sponsoring some thing called a "Meat Traceability Act." Let's get some grandiose new government spending program designed to track every hot dog and quarter pounder from the cow to each consumer. Maybe we could put little GPS transmitters on cows. Oh .. .and the Democrats naturally are blaming Bush; and who didn't' expect that? Now ... from mad cows to Michael Jackson. Michael is now claiming that he was "manhandled" during his arrest ... and that they dislocated his shoulder when they handcuffed him. He says that when he used the restroom at the police station there was "doo doo" on the walls. This is nothing more than Michael Jackson backing up his frightened family members who have been making similar claims. And why are Jermaine Jackson et. al. so frightened? Michael Jackson is basically their sole means of support ... their livelihood needs to be protected.
NOW A FEW READING ASSIGNMENTS Not allowing non-citizens to vote in California elections is "political apartheid." The pressure is on in California to allow these non-citizens, including illegal aliens, to vote. Your Bekins number can be found in the local yellow pages. But where are you going to go? This movement may have started in California, but it's already spreading. It's just a matter of time.Jeff Jacoby chronicles the best of liberal hate speech from 2003. An excellent column from George Will about Howard Dean. It's amazing that the same party that brought us JFK could even be considering nominating this guy. |
