MORE NEWS ON THE ECONOMY

U.S. Construction spending surged in September to a record high.  This was for both residential and non residential construction.

The Dow could be over 10,000 by the end of the week.  Right now the Dow is at a 17 month high.

U.S. manufacturers cranked up their output in October to its highest level in four years.  Some manufacturers have eliminated scheduled layoffs.  Others are hiring again.  Jobless claims are falling.

Airline travel is increasing ... now back to pre-Iraq war levels.

Everywhere you look, read or listen you hear some economist saying that it is the Bush tax cuts which are propelling this economic growth, just as with Eisenhower, with Kennedy and with Reagan.  At the same time virtually every single Democratic presidential candidate is calling for increases, especially on higher income Americans.

One of the reasons these tax cuts have such a favorable effect on our economy is because so many of the so-called "wealthy" who receive these cuts are the very small business owners ... over 20 million of them ... who fuel our economy by expanding their businesses and hiring more people.  That evil rich person out there that the Democrats want to nail with higher taxes probably employs about 10 people in his small grocery store, farm, gas station or consulting business.  When his taxes go up the money he has to pay employees goes down.  That means job losses.

Democrats know all of this, of course.  They also know that class warfare works.  So many of the people who don't earn the big bucks harbor a jealousy of those who do that borders on insanity.  Studies have shown that these people who are so jealous of the rich would actually pay to see the wealthy denied more of what they earn.  Are you hearing this?  These people would give a dollar out of their own pockets to see five dollars taken from a wealthy person.  None of the money goes to them.  They just have the pleasure of seeing someone they hate so deeply get hurt.  These people, as you already know, vote for Democrats.

THE GREATEST THREAT TO WORLD PEACE?

A soon-to-be released survey in Europe will show that Europeans think that Israel is the world's greatest threat to peace.  And just what does Israel do that threatens world peace?  It attempts to survive, that's what.  Israel tries to prevent its annihilation on a continent where the majority of inhabitants want it's residents dead or gone.  That European mentality is really something, isn't it?  Islamic Arabs pledge to destroy Israel.  Israel responds by trying to survive, and it's Israel that is branded as the greatest threat to world peace.

Bottom line?  Anti-Semitism ... the hatred of Jews ... is epidemic in Europe and getting worse. 

By the way .. Iran, North Korea and the United States are tied for second place.  If stupidity were dangerous, which it is, Europe would be a greater threat to whirreld peas than any single country.

COME ON, LIBERALS ... YOU CAN SAY IT.  ALL TOGETHER NOW .... "TAX INCREASE."

I heard this little exchange on Hannity & Colmes last night.  Alan Colmes was interviewing Zell Miller.  The subject was taxes when this exchange took place:

Miller:  "Gephardt says let's have a trillion dollar tax increase."

Colmes:  "Don't give the cuts, that's what he's saying."

Earth to Alan.  The cuts have already been given.  They are now law.  They are part of the Internal Revenue Code.  It's too late not to give the tax cuts.  They're already in place.  The evil, wretched, hated rich already have that money in their pockets and they're already spending it.

The left has to give up on this "stop the tax cuts" nonsense.  If they want to raise taxes on the most productive Americans then they should have the guts to get out there and say so.  No more of this "get rid of the tax cuts" nonsense.  Say what you think.  You want to raise taxes.

This is yet another illustration of why liberals wither when faced with factual and logical debate.  You can only look like a complete fool when you refuse to call a tax increase a tax increase.  Drop the phony rhetoric and say what you mean, Alan.

YEAH ... LET'S JUST PULL OUT.  THAT'S THE TICKET

CNN ran a clip of the mother of one of our men killed in the destruction of that Chinook helicopter in Iraq on Sunday.  The lady, obviously in great pain and anguish, said: "The people over there are telling out American leaders that they don't want us over there, and they will continue to kill our American soldiers.  They are telling our leaders -- so why aren't our leaders listening?  And bring our babies home."

Yeah .. that's the ticket. Let's just quit.  The terrorists are fighting, so let's quit.  Who knew they were going to fight back?  Who knew?  Let's get our men and women out of there now!  Yeah ... let's send a message to every terrorist who dreams of the destruction of the United States that all they have to do is fight back and we will succumb.  Just kill some of our soldiers and we'll let you have your way. 

Let's say this poor lady's son was a police officer who was killed trying to apprehend a murderous drug dealer.  Would this woman say "Those drug dealers are telling our police that they don't want us in their neighborhood, and they will continue to kill police officers.  Why aren't our police officers listening?  Let's bring out police out of there."

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Elections today ... across the country.  One race to watch is Republican Jack Ryan running for Senate in Illinois.  Read this to learn a bit about Jack Ryan, he is truly amazing.  After you read this you will realize that if Jack Ryan cannot make any inroads into the black vote in Illinois then we will have to admit that blacks are so comfortable on the Democratic plantation that they will very likely never leave.

The Drudge Report has been leading the news coverage on the upcoming CBS hatchet job on The Reagans. Now we have Barbra Streisand looking for cover and CBS executives are making excuses.  On the one hand CBS says it was supposed to be a "love story."  Why would they refer to Nancy Reagan as "Madam Fhrer" in a love story? This reading assignment was written last night.  This morning I wake up to find that Drudge is reporting that CBS has cancelled The Reagans and that the mini-series will now air on Showtime.  Drudge says CBS could be taking a $9 million hit on this one.  Good ... it couldn't happen to a better network.  Here's the latest coverage from Fox News.  Note:  Other news outlets are saying that CBS is merely considering passing on The Reagans.  We'll probably know by the end of the day.

Ted Kennedy will be honored by The Bush Foundation with an award later this week.  The award honors Kennedy for his humanitarian efforts.  Would now be a good time to bone up on how Kennedy demonstrated his humanitarian instincts on July 19, 1969?
