BROADCASTING TOMORROW FROM TEXAS A&M

For the third year in a row my friends at News Talk 1620 WTAW are going to be hosting me for a visit to my alma mater, Texas A&M University for a little fall football.  This time instead of arriving late Friday afternoon, I'll be heading over that way this afternoon so that I can do my show from the Texas A&M campus tomorrow.  I look forward to meeting my central and east Texas listeners.  This is particularly meaningful for me since I began my radio career as a rock and roll and then country disk jockey on WTAW in the mid 1960's.  I wonder if there's anyone left in the Bryan-College Station area who truly remembers Randy Neal.

NOT MANY NOTES

Remember what I told you last week?  Hey ... I'm sorry my program notes aren't measuring up lately, but working on the book is taking top priority when I'm not in the studio. What I need now is a good ghost writer.

SO ... WE HAVE SOME RANDOM AND INTEMPERATE THOUGHTS

Zell Miller has endorsed George W. Bush for president in next year's election.  Here is one Senator who puts our national security above politics.  Makes you proud to be from Georgia

Geraldo .. what a putz.  Yesterday he asked a professional firefighter if these fires would cause him to want to change his occupation.  Change professions?  This is exactly why they are in this profession?  Why did Fox resurrect this guy?

There's a link below to a story about an Al Qaeda training manual.  The manual says that American ports are primary targets.  Is now a good time to remind you that ABC News has twice successfully smuggled radioactive materials into US ports without ever being detected?

The Democrats are going to use footage of George Bush landing on that aircraft carrier in their campaign ads.  Just another way of showing their disdain for the military and for our men and women in uniform.

Even The New York Times has reported that the Bush tax cuts are largely responsible for our growing economy.  In spite of that, the Democrats are still talking about tax increases.  Why?  Because class warfare sells better than the economy when you're talking to core Democratic voters.

Thus far this fall CBS has attacked home schooling and Ronald Reagan.  What's next? By the way ... if you listen to CBS you will learn that extreme right-wingers are in control of our media.

Would someone explain to me why some commentators are so obsessed with getting a date-certain when the California fires are going to be quelled?  There are so many elements to a fire like this that predicting an end-date is next to impossible.  Get another question.

Thank you, Soledad O'Brien, for pointing out how much Elizabeth Smart changed in the nine months of her kidnapping ordeal.  Soledad points out that Elizabeth went from a girl to a young woman.  Damn, Soledad!  She was repeatedly raped!  Do you think that might have had anything to do with it?

The Sun has released another powerful solar flare, hurtling billions of tons of energy toward Earth.  We have strong scientific evidence .. not computer models, but actual evidence ... that the Sun has been unusually active for the past 30 years.  More activity .. more heat.  Leftist eco-morons continue with their program of blaming capitalism and industrial growth for global warming.

The United Nations continues to scale back its presence in Iraq ... joined by the Red Cross.  Tomorrow little Trick-or-Treaters will ask you to give money to the UN organization UNICEF.  The UN is saying no.  So should you.

CNN is reporting that young Americans don't follow politics as much as elderly Americans do.  This is not only a tragedy ... it's dangerous.  Young people have decades to live ... decades that will be heavily influenced by what is happening politically today.  Britney Spears will fade ... the politicians won't.

Any able-bodied person who rides around on one of those electric scooters deserves to become an immobile lard ass.

Do you know why prescription drugs are cheaper in Canada?  It's because the Canadian government has strong price controls on those drugs.  If your next question is "Well, why doesn't the United States do the same thing?" you don't have a clue about market forces and how the free enterprise system works.

A pretty big Bush screw-up here.  That "Mission Accomplished" banner on the USS Abraham Lincoln?  Bush said the ship's officers put that banner there while on the way home from the Middle East.  Oops.  It turns out the White House created that banner and had it put there.  The Democrats are going to have fun with this one.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Can you believe this?  The New York Times actually admitted that it was the Bush tax cuts that were driving our recovering economy.

Maybe cutting down a few trees in California isn't such a bad idea after all.

While we're obsessing over airline security are the terrorists focusing their future efforts on our seaports?  What does a once-secret Al Qaeda training manual reveal?

How about this great line from Ann Coulter's column:  "Even Teddy Kennedy, who might be well advised to withhold comment on a woman's position relative to a moving body of water, has described Brown as 'out of the mainstream,' adding, "Let's just hope this one can swim.'"  Did Kennedy know that?  Did he really use the "Let's hope this one can swim" line?

So, who is was Teddy Kennedy referring to in the above quote?  Janice Rogers Brown.  As I've been telling you, Democrats are getting ready to filibuster Bush's nomination of Brown to an appeals court bench.  She's qualified, she's black, and she's conservative.  No qualified black conservative is ever going to get the support of Democrats.  You don't reward blacks for fleeing the Democrat plantation.

A little history lesson on  Bush hatred from Marvin Olasky.

Now this one is really going to infuriate the left.  George Bush made a speech last night at a Christian youth center.  During that speech he actually had good things to say about the Christian religion and said that his recovery from drinking was directly tied to a renewal of his religious foundation.

Georgia Democratic Senator Zell Miller endorses George Bush in next year's election.  To the left-wing Atlanta Journal-Constitution that makes Miller a "maverick."
