TUESDAY 9/23/03Here is the text of the President's speech on Tuesday before the United Nations General Assembly. THANK YOU TEXAS! I have a nice new certificate on my office wall. The folks at the Texas Radio Hall of Fame have added me to their Hall of Honor. My radio career began in Texas at WTAW in Bryan/College station. I started there as a Rock 'n' Roll disk jockey. The station changed formats to country .. and so did I. Today WTAW is the premiere talk station in the Brazos Valley and I'm proud to be a part of their daily lineup. My thanks to Jo Interrante and the board and members of the Texas Radio Hall of Fame for this honor. Oh .. and congratulations to my friend Mark Davis for being inducted into the Hall of Fame. Maybe someday ......... A reminder to my listeners in the Bryan/College Station area. The Neal Boortz Show comes to Aggieland on Halloween! Yes, on October 31st we'll be broadcasting from the Zone Club at Kyle Field on the campus of Texas A&M University. Listen to News Talk 1620 WTAW for details on how you can become a part of the studio audience! ![]() TRAVEL WITH A MEANING Before we get into the hard stuff today ... For over 25 years my wife and I have been traveling abroad with a remarkable organization called The Friendship Force. I've stayed in private homes in Russia and Great Britain. My wife, without a radio show to interfere with her travels, has been pretty much around the world with this group. Several times a year The Friendship Force will host "Festivals" in various locations within the U.S. and abroad. This affords a wonderful opportunity to spend a few days with a great cross section of people from many different countries. As you read this one such festival is taking place in San Francisco. Sorry, you're too late for that one. In late November, however, another Friendship Force Festival will take place in the beautiful nation of Costa Rica. If you're looking for an unusual and meaningful travel experience, just click here to learn more about "Tropical Smiles in Costa Rica!" IT'S WORKING The leftist barrage of criticism against George Bush really picked up its head of steam with the now-infamous sixteen words. During his State of the Union speech Bush laid out a myriad of reasons why Saddam must either comply with the U.N. resolutions, or be removed from power. Most of the reasons for action put forth by Bush in that speech had previously been stated by such Democratic luminaries as Kennedy, Daschle and, of course, Bill Clinton. But, during that speech Bush uttered the now-infamous sixteen words: "The British government has learned that Saddam Hussein recently sought significant quantities of uranium from Africa." The Democrats seized upon these words, and branded them a lie. It was not a lie, of course, but that fact didn't deter Democrats or their sycophants in the media. British intelligence had, indeed, made a determination that Saddam had attempted to purchase uranium from Niger. After all, that was a source for previous Iraqi uranium purchases .. why would it be so difficult to believe that he would go back to a previous source for additional uranium? Question: How many of you can remember hearing either Rather, Jennings or Brokaw explain that Niger was a prior source of uranium for Saddam? How many of you can remember reading that fact in The New York Times or The Washington Post? Do any of you remember hearing that reported on CNN? Well, Fox News Channel DID report that fact. To liberals, this makes Fox News Channel a part of some hideous right wing conspiracy. Well, let's admit it. The "Bush lied" ploy is working, and it's working well. Day after day the left beats the "Bush lied" drum, and day after day the media amplifies the drumbeat on network newscasts and in the printed press. The very same Democrats who once spoke to the need to remove the threat of Saddam Hussein and his weapons now condemn George Bush for doing just that. Here .. try this test. No fair cheating by referring to yesterday's Nuze. Just tell me who made this statement:
No clue? That was Hillary Clinton on the campaign trail in October of 2002. Now, try this one:
That statement is from none other than Teddy Kennedy, the man who now says that the entire war in Iraq is a fraud. The war on terror has been focused on Iraq. One of the most brutal and dangerous dictators in history is out of power. Millions of Iraqis celebrate their freedom from Saddam's brutality. America and the rest of the world is safer today because we had a president who dared to take the war on terror to foreign soil, rather than fight it defensively at home. The safety of Americans in their homes and places of work is, to Democrats, secondary to their determination to return to their rightful position of power in Washington D.C. Sabotaging the war on terror, and reversing the gains made in Iraq are a price Democrats are willing to let America pay if it will result in their return to power. ARNOLD SHOULD PULL OUT I really don't want Arnold to pull out of the California recall election. I don't want him to because that might lead to a McClintock victory. The voters of California voted for Gray Davis, and they should by God be required to live with their choice for the remainder of his term. Oh how they bragged about the great state of California being under full and complete Democratic control. Fine ... then don't deny us the joy of watching this great Democratic experiment unfold. But .... IF the Republicans are serious about winning this recall election they need to whittle the field down to one serious Republican candidate. State Senator Tom McClintock is clearly more qualified to hold that office than Arnold Schwarzenegger. Arnold needs to step aside and throw his support to McClintock. KUDOS TO THE GODFATHER Boy, did Limbaugh ever have this one right on his show yesterday afternoon. Everybody with the brains of an aardvark knows that Bill and Hillary have placed Wesley Clark into this presidential race. But why? One reason .. to derail the Howard Dean train. Isn't it time for some of these Democrat candidates to start publicly asking why the Clintons are so determined to see George Bush reelected in 2004? Oh come on now. You aren't going to sit in front of that computer screen and tell me that the Clintons would actually like to see a Democrat, other than Hitlary that is, win in 2004, are you? Even if you regularly vote Democrat you can't possibly be that obtuse. It's all rather simple to figure out really. Dean is recognized as a threat to Hillary's plans for 2008. The Clintons quickly run their stalking horse, Wesley Clark, into the race to slow down or to stop Dean. That's his number one job .. smother Howard Dean. Now Hillary just sits back and watches the polls. If Dean's momentum is reversed, great! Mission accomplished. But what if Wesley Clark actually begins to show the strength that could lead to a nomination and victory next year? Then the Clinton machine swings into action again. Remember, Bill Clinton fired Wesley Clark. Clinton's Defense Department made it clear to Clark that his career was over and that retirement was the appropriate option. The Clinton apparatus knows just what information to leak, and just where to leak it, to weaken Clark. There is, though, the doomsday scenario. Let's say that it becomes apparent that either Clark or Dean is going to have a strong chance of beating Bush in November. That scenario is being planned for at this moment. Bill Clinton is making noises about how the people of New York would forgive Shrillary for breaking her pledge to serve her six-year term. If it looks like a Democrat will win in 2004 Hillary wants to be that Democrat. She'll step in. It's a move she'll have to make before any other Democrat gets enough committed convention delegates to take that first ballot nomination. Every Democratic candidate fully understands just what the Clintons are up to here. They know the game plan and the intentions of Bill and Hillary. So, as The Godfather asks, why in the hell aren't they making some noise? Why won't one Democratic candidate step forward and say that this is a decision that should be made by registered Democrats across the country, not by the Clinton machine. Don't you just love an election year? MY DIXIE TWITS PREDICTION Yesterday I told you that Ditzy Twit Martie Maguire told Spiegel magazine that the Twits " . don't feel part of the country scene any longer, it can't be our home any more." Maguire told the magazine that the Twits now " .. consider ourselves part of the big Rock 'n Roll family." Prediction time. This comment is going to pretty much tear it with the country music radio stations and listeners. Look for their airplay to drop even more than it has. By the time we go to the polls for the November 2004 election the Ditzy Twits will be a part of music history. Some of the Twits may go on to a successful solo career ... or not. At any rate, their final chapter is about to be written. READING ASSIGNMENTS Naturally I'm going to put my own WorldNetDaily column at the top of the list. After all, it's my website. A preview of Bush's speech today before the United Nations. Iraqi exiles say that Saddam's supporters have hidden bombs, grenades and other weapons in mosques. U.S. troops are not allowed to search these sites for these weapons. Does this sound like a good policy? Now that you've packed your children off to their government school today, perhaps you would like to know that less than one-half of the nation's teachers colleges meet accreditation standards. Want more? More than 40 states allow districts to hire teachers who have not met basic education requirements. The House and Senate budget committees, which are chaired by evil Republicans, have asked every congressional committee to look for just one percent of waste in their various entitlement programs. Just one percent. So, how are Democrats reacting to this perfectly reasonable request? A Muslim Army chaplain has been arrested for espionage. Do you remember Sgt. Asan Akbar? He's the Muslim who rolled a grenade into his commander's tent in Kuwait. It has been suggested he could have been influenced by a Muslim chaplain. Did you know that there are 14 Muslim chaplains in the U.S. military, and nine of them were trained in an institution supported by the Saudi government? Just one more "did you know." Did you know that this Saudi-supported institution has reported ties to Islamic terrorist organizations? The Republicans, always looking for an issue to focus on that can't possibly make a difference in the lives of most Americans, are going to officially oppose gay marriage in the 2004 election. Now if they really wanted to do something that could make a difference they ought to oppose Hollywood marriages. Dick Morris says that although Wesley Clark is riding high in the polls today, his star will fade. This, of course, is just what Clark's primary backers, the Clintons, intend. What has been the single worst decision in Bush's presidency so far? This featured article from The Wall Street Journal says that it was his imposition of steel tariffs in 2002 ... and it's cost our economy $680 million thus far. An old lady dies in 1997 and leaves a house full of cats. It's not that bad, though. Her son does go to the house every once in a while to toss some food through the front door. Looks like the house is going to have to be bulldozed. A Georgia Congressman ... a Democrat ... says that the depressing media coverage of Iraq is killing our troops. Well, I guess that's just the price you have to pay to defeat George Bush in 2004 and to return the Democrats to their rightful position of power. Cruz Bustamante, the Democratic candidate for California Governor who uses the "N" word and supports a racist Latino organization, has been ordered to return nearly $4 million in campaign contributions to some California Indian tribes.
