Thursday, April 8, 2004ON STAGE TODAY ![]() Condoleezza Rice, President Bush's National Security Advisor appearing before the 9/11 Commission. We'll be carrying much of Condi's testimony live today on the Boortz show. My guess? The testimony of Condi Rice will prove to be very embarrassing to Richard Clarke, and will enhance the public approval ratings of Rice, perhaps catapulting her into the mix of possible Republican presidential candidates for 2008. The Democrats? They aren't going to enjoy her testimony all that much. They're not too fond of her in the first place. To your rank and file Democrat Condoleezza Rice is the modern day equivalent of an escaped slave. WHEN IS A MOSQUE NOT A MOSQUE? When it becomes an enemy military command headquarters, that's when. Drop leaflets, make announcements, sing it from the hills: If Islamic radical fighters retreat to the supposed safety of a mosque, or if they command insurgent forces and preach their hatred from a mosque, it will cease to be consider a mosque and will at that point be considered a target. These radicals and their private armies need to be killed. There is no chance for peace, freedom and stability for the Iraqi people until they are. If they gather in a mosque to make the job easier ... say thanks and pull the trigger. WHO NEEDS ENEMIES WHEN YOU HAVE ALLIES LIKE THESE The only 9/11 suspect ever convicted walked out of jail yesterday, freed by the German government after serving only 2 1/2 years of a 15-year sentence. Mounir el-Motassadeq's conviction on charges of aiding the plotters of the 9/11 attacks on the United States was overturned last month after the U.S. refused to give lawyers access to an Al-Qaeda suspect in our custody. The highest court in Germany said this prevented a fair trial for our friend the poor Islamic terrorist. You've got to be kidding me. This guy has acknowledged training at an Al-Qaeda camp in Afghanistan and being close friends with three of the 9/11 hijackers. What a lame excuse....they're letting him walk on a technicality. What's going on here is that the anti-American axis of weasels countries like Germany are more concerned with the rights of mass-murdering Islamic terrorists than they are the safety and security of their "friends" like the United States. Not only are they not helping us in Iraq, but we can't even count on them to handle an open and shut case like this against an admitted terrorist and follower of Osama Bin Laden. And sKerry wants to turn the war on terror over to the United Nations? Thanks for nothing. What a bunch of spineless Euro-weenies. THIS IS HOW IT'S DONE: FALLUJAH MOSQUE BOMBED So Muqtada al-Sadr and his band of "insurgents" in Fallujah were using a mosque as a military base to fire on Coalition soldiers. So what did our boys do? They hit back, and hit back hard. Much to the horror of the media, the Marines called in an aerial assault, and a Hellfire missile was launched at the mosque. A laser-guided 500-pound bomb was dropped on a wall surrounding the compound for good measure. It's not known precisely how many dirt naps were handed out, but according to the AP, there were 3 carloads of wounded and dead Islamic terrorists seen leaving the mosque. Good, now maybe they'll get the message. The U.S. Marines attacked a second mosque in Fallujah, after it became clear that the insurgents were hiding out there as well (no doubt practicing the peaceful religion of Islam by firing at our troops.) The chief military spokesman in Iraq said that the Geneva convention protects the mosque, but the insurgents nullified that by attacking from there. Too bad for them...at least they won't have to worry about transporting the body for the viewing. This is a good sign. In the past, U.S. Central Command might have hesitated to bomb a mosque. In the past (including Gulf War I,) Saddam and others were getting away with hiding weapons and soldiers in places of worship and schools, because they knew the United States would not bomb them there. Now that has changed. The message is clear: there is nowhere to hide. This shouldn't take long...U.S. officials are estimating the al-Sadr group of terrorists at around 3,000. A couple more of those 500-pound bombs should do the trick. RICE PLANS NO APOLOGY IN 9/11 TESTIMONY Get ready for the Condoleezza Rice media circus. Today President Bush's National Security Adviser goes before the 9/11 Commission to publicly to lay out the facts of what the administration was doing in the months leading up to the attacks. Her opening statement is expected to be about 20 minutes long, and while the White House has not released the text, it is expected to be a barnburner. Of course, before she has spoken a single word, the media and the Democrats are already attacking. Rice is not planning to apologize for the attacks on 9/11. This is already causing a stir, but the White House is correctly pointing out that only the terrorists are responsible for what happened on 9/11. Already we are seeing headlines that her testimony "may not be enough" to save Bush's re-election. Excuse me...I didn't know Bush's re-election needed saving. All polls are showing Bush either even with Kerry or ahead. And besides....the election is 7 months away. Idiots. She is also going to be grilled by the "nonpartisan" (yeah right) commission over the testimony of Richard Clarke. But why? He has already publicly contradicted himself...why should she be expected to answer for that? And lastly...Senate Minority Leader Tom Daschle has weighed in...warning Dr. Rice that she should tell the truth. "It's important for her to be as truthful and forthcoming as possible. Nobody could give the commission a more precise understanding of what happened and why." Oh really? The Bush administration was in office 7 1/2 months before 9/11, and the Clinton administration had 8 years. Why would she have the ultimate explanation for what happened and why? Wasn't it President Clinton that failed to act after several Al-Qaeda attacks? It doesn't matter what she says, or how she says it. When it comes to the liberals and Bush-hating buddies in the media, nothing will ever be enough. KEEP IT UP, TED And just why do I love it so when Teddy Kennedy goes out there campaigning for John sKerry? Because he may well be one of the best weapons President Bush has. Earlier this week Kennedy was saying that Iraq was going to be George Bush's Vietnam. Today that pudgy little radical Islamic "cleric" Muqtada al-Sadr was saying the same thing. This stuff is priceless folks. Kennedy launches a broadside against Bush, and the people who are trying to kill our soldiers in Iraq parrot it the next day. Kerry then follows up the statements of Kennedy and al-Sadr by calling al-Sadr a "legitimate voice" in Iraq. Only 1% of the Iraqi people consider al-Sadr to be their voice, but Kerry has decided to give him the patina of a legitimate voice for all of Iraq. And, of course, we already know just how legitimate Kerry thinks Kennedy is. Now we just add the America-hating terrorist Muqtada al-Sadr to that list. Kennedy and al-Sadr, campaign point men for John Kerry. And none of this costs the Bush campaign a dime. By the way .. in case I haven't had a chance to say this today; Kennedy is a vile, repugnant slug who, when he moves around the Senate floor, leaves a sticky trail behind him ... somewhat like a slug. And I'm being kind here. Golly ... I'm having such a hard time expressing how I really feel today. WHY SHOULD ONE IDIOT BE ALLOWED TO CAUSE SO MUCH TROUBLE Yesterday afternoon in Atlanta .. a city with no small amount of traffic woes .. some deranged idiot stood on an expressway bridge and threatened to jump onto I85/75. The expressways were closed during the rush hour, inconveniencing thousands of commuters trying to get home to their families and many more heading to Atlanta's Hartsfield International Airport. Why is one man allowed to cause so much trouble? Rush the SOB. If he jumps and dies, he dies. His choice. You don't stand there for hours trying to negotiate with the slob. He made his choices, let him suffer the consequences. THE DODD STATEMENT You read about it in yesterday's Nuze. You also would have seen a story about it on Fox News ... but really nowhere else. I'm talking about Democratic Senator Chris Dodd's assertion that former KKK member Robert Byrd would have been "right" for any era in American history ... specifically during the Civil War. My point yesterday was that Trent Lott had to resign a leadership position in the Senate after the media erupted into a frenzy after his remarks about Strom Thurmond. It took only two days for the Vigero to hit the fan for Trent Lott. It's been about six days now since Dodd's remarks about Robert KKK Byrd. What is the press saying? Well, thus far CNN, USA Today, The New York Times and The Washington Post have completely ignored the story, even though some black congressional staffers are complaining. The only place you will find a published story about Dodd's remarks is in the Capitol Hill newspaper Roll Call. Again .. what you have here is the liberal media protecting a powerful Democratic Senator. If someone else gives this story some legs, the rest of the media will reluctantly join in; but you can be sure that no member of the establishment liberal press is going to start this ball rolling. READING ASSIGNMENTS Former Senator Bob Kerrey, a Vietnam vet, says that Richard Clarke is wrong about Iraq. In some Muslim countries it is strictly forbidden to eat a sheep you have just .... er, ... a sheep ... let's just say a sheep you have just had sex with. This brings up an interesting question about those virgins terrorists are promised. In 'Deliver us from Democrats,' Ann Coulter deals with the media reaction to Sean Hannity's latest book. In part two of 'Counting the Costs,' Thomas Sowell looks at the costs associated with government mandates. In case you missed it, here's part one. Citizens
Against Government Waste have released their annual "Pig Book"
detailing the record $22.9 billion that Congress has spent on pork this year.
Ross Mackenzie has the perfect running mate for John Kerry....this will surprise you. Larry Elder looks at a tale of two books...one that was critical of Bush, and another that was critical of Clinton. Guess which one the media liked more? Emmett Tyrell explains why it might not be a good idea for Senator Kennedy to bring up too much history...you could run across some of Teddy's more unflattering moments. Armstrong Williams wonders where the outrage is over Christoper Dodd's praise of Robert Byrd. Cal Thomas highlights some "Republicans" in Virginia that want to raise taxes. You know those DVD players that are all the rage in the backseat of minivans and SUVs? Lawmakers in Tennessee are considering a ban on mobile adult entertainment. Things must be awfully slow in Tennessee. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger wants California lawmakers to work part-time so they can be more productive. What a great idea....where is it written that politicians are supposed to constantly make new laws. |
