Thursday, April 29, 2004"The fundamental difference in this election will be between President Bush's steady leadership in the war on terror and John Kerry's consistent political opportunism on the war on terror." THE FAIR TAX RALLY FOR AMERICA I'll be speaking Saturday morning at
the Fair Tax "Rally for America" at the Chesapeake Conference Center
in Chesapeake (Norfolk) Virginia. Yes, it's free .. and yes, you can
attend. Registration begins at 8:00 a.m.! BRILLIANT IDEA! AT LEAST OUR FOUNDING FATHERS THOUGHT SO! I hate to say it, but this idea is going nowhere ... but God bless Senator Zell Miller for putting it on the table. Miller says that the 17th Amendment should be repealed. Thanks, Zell. I've been saying the exact same thing for years. Just what does the 17th Amendment do? It provides for the popular election of U.S. Senators. Under our original Constitution Senators were appointed by state legislators. The idea was for the House of Representatives to represent the interests of the people in Washington, while the Senate would represent the interests of State governments. Since the 17th Amendment was ratified State governments have been without any official representation in Washington. You can see what this has brought us ... complete federal domination ... the Imperial Federal Government of the United States. This will be just one of the topics for discussion on The Neal Boortz Show today. PRESIDENT BUSH AND VICE PRESIDENT CHENEY TO FACE 9/11 COMMISSION ![]() Here's a prediction for you. When Bill Clinton and Al Gore testified before the 9/11 Blame Commission, we were told in the media that they were forthright and cooperative. Their testimony, for the most part was not detailed in the press and went largely unnoticed. In other words, the administration that should be held most accountable for doing nothing about terrorism got a media pass. Same old liberal media bias, nothing new there. All of that is going to change today however, when President Bush and Vice President Cheney go before the 9/11 Commission. It won't be televised, but you can expect the partisan liberal Democrats like Jamie Gorelick, Richard Ben-Veniste and Timothy Roemer to be their usual disrespectful selves. They will use every opportunity to take shots at the President and mark my words, here is what is going to happen: all of it will be leaked to the media. We will be told that the president was combative, non-cooperative and an obstructionist. There will be questions that the White House Counsel will not let them answer, and we'll hear about that. The Poodle will make it a campaign issue; the administration will be accused of lying about 9/11 by this time tomorrow. This commission has nothing to do with investigating 9/11 and preventing it from happening again. We already know the answer to that: keep John Kerry out of the White House. Remember .. prior to 9/11 Bill Clinton was in office for eight years ... George Bush for nine months. THE ANTI-WAR MEDIA AND THE IRAQI POLL Saddam Hussein may no longer be in power, but his propaganda machine is alive and well in the United States media. Their latest cause? A CNN/USA Today/Gallup Poll taken in late March and early April that shows that 61% of Iraqis think the ouster of Saddam Hussein has made the war in Iraq worth it. That's an amazing show of support for the Coalition, right? Not if you listen to the Bush-hating media in this country. After all, they hate the war on terrorism and don't want it to continue. They gotta spin the results their way, you know. First off, only 46% of the respondents (by the way, only 3,444 adults were interviewed) thought the invasion did more harm than good. The rest thought it was a good idea, not important or they didn't care. Then there's this one..."Would you feel less safe if U.S. troops left Iraq today?" 53% said yes, again a majority favoring the occupation. 80% polled had an unfavorable view of Saddam Hussein, but 55% had an unfavorable view of George W. Bush. Why does that matter? Oh, and remember when the Hildabeast said Iraqis were better off under Saddam? Apparently 80% disagree. The fact of the matter is the vast majority of Iraqis are glad to see Saddam gone and most say they would feel less safe if the Coalition bailed out. This is good news...so why isn't it being reported as such? AL GORE PAYING KERRY TO DO WHAT HE COULDN'T Yesterday, Al Gore promised to give Democratic groups $6 million to defeat what he called "the outrageous and misleading campaign being waged by the Bush-Cheney campaign." Of course, Gore is being the loyal Democrat, but this has nothing to do with electing Kerry president (he was a Howard Dean supporter.) Rather, Gore is trying to do in 2004 what he couldn't accomplish in 2000: defeat George W. Bush for president. Those must be some really sour grapes to last this long. Al is going to generously donate $4 million to the Democratic National Committee soft money slush fund, $1 million each to the Democrats' House and Senate Committees and even $250,000 to the party in his home state of Tennessee, which was responsible for not electing him president. Gotta prop up that legacy, you know. Kerry had better watch out. Al Gore has a history of being the kiss of death. Former candidate Howard Dean said it best, when looking back at Gore's endorsement of him in the primary: "I actually do think the endorsement of Al Gore began the decline." OFFICIAL 2004 DEMOCRATIC NATIONAL CONVENTION PROGRAM I've received many requests for the recently-released official schedule for the Democratic National Convention. So, ever mindful of the needs and demands of my listeners, here it is!
Tom Lantos is a California Democrat representing (where else?) the San Francisco Bay area. Yesterday Lantos was on a panel questioning some individuals over the United Nations Oil for Food Scandal. Lantos is not happy that people are questioning the honesty and integrity of UN Secretary General Kofi Annan. My chin dropped to my shoes when I heard Lantos say:
Did the same thought cross your mind? Tom Lantos, a Democrat, sees it as fundamentally wrong to imply any dishonesty on the part of Kofi Annan at a time when Annan is facing great responsibilities in Iraq. But .... Tom Lantos, a Democrat, sees no problem whatsoever in questioning the honesty of the president of the United States at a time when he is also facing great responsibilities in Iraq. Is this the way it is for Democrats? It's fine to impugn the integrity of our president, but keep your grimy right-wing mitts off the Secretary General of the United Nations. JIM MCDERMOTT AT IT AGAIN You remember Jim McDermott, don't you? He's the Democratic congressman (Washington State) who traveled to Baghdad to announce to the world that Saddam Hussein could be trusted, but that George Bush could not. Quite an American, this McDermott. Well ... yesterday it fell upon Jim McDermott to recite the Pledge of Allegiance at the opening of the day's business before the House. And recite he did, with only two departures from custom ... and from law, by the way. First of all, he left out the phrase "under God" in the Pledge. He also failed to put his right hand over his heart as the law requires. Well ... I guess that's exactly what you should expect from a Congressman who puts the word of a bloody dictator above that of the President of his own country. Seattle can have this jerk. AIR AMERICA JUST NOT GETTING THE JOB DONE? It seems that even the left isn't happy with the way Air America, the great savior of the left, is handling its task of bringing liberal talk radio to the nation. I just love this quote from Dylan Tanner in the current issue of Vanguard, the online edition of the Portland State University newspaper:
Actually, I'm a bit upset that Tanner didn't mention me in his column .. but I'll survive. Is it possible that he just doesn't think that my goal is to "ruin the lives of every last one of us." I wonder just what it would take to ruin Dylan Tanner's life? If he's a typical college-age liberal, I suspect that just helping to promote a society where each and every person was treated as an individual, with individual rights to life, liberty and property, would do it. READING ASSIGNMENTS Zell Miller is pushing the repeal of the 17th Amendment, and proposing returning to the practice of Senators being appointed by state legislatures, as the founding fathers intended. Imagine that...doing something as the founding fathers intended. A website linked to Teresa Heinz Kerry has removed the posting that called ex-NFL player and fallen Army Ranger Pat Tillman a "dumb jock." Too little, too late. A sign hanging in the window of a community center in Seattle says "victory to the Iraqi resistance." Who represents Seattle in Congress? Oh yeah ... Jim McDermott. Looks like things aren't going so good down at the liberal talk radio network. Craige McMillan checks the progress of hot Air America. Well, it was fun while it lasted. Moammar Gadhafi is off the reservation again, threatening to bomb the 'evil' west. Could be time for another visit from the fighter jets. If insurgents fire on Coalition troops from religious sites, Robert Stewart says the troops absolutely must fire back. The anniversary of September 11th will act as a third political convention benefiting the Republicans, according to Dick Morris. This editorial in the New York Post says it's time to send in the Marines and end the standoff in Fallujah....now. Good plan. The Poodle says he is fascinated by rap and hip-hop music. Larry Elder wonders why. The Democrats and the media are massively distorting Bob Woodward's book and creating stories that just aren't there. Robert Novak explains. The leadership of the GOP is shockingly silent on many issues it could be taking advantage of. A frustrated Brent Bozell runs down the list. People like Chuck Hagel and Charles Rangel are pushing the dumb idea of reinstating the draft. Alan Reynolds shoots down the idea. Will the next two months determine the next president of the United States? Ross Mackenzie thinks so. John Kerry is turning out to be a lot like Bill Clinton. Emmett Tyrrell asks whether 2004 will be like 1992. Do pictures of soldiers' coffins belong on the front page of the newspaper? Jeff Jacoby investigates. Since September 11th, Osama Bin Laden and Al-Qaeda are replacing the ranks of terrorists with recent western converts to Islam. Chuck Colson explains why. The Poodle is called the 'presumptive nominee,' but Cal Thomas asks what will happen if it starts to appear that he can't beat President Bush?
