| Thursday, August 5, 2004 In this case the stuck pigs are several congressional democrats. They're squealing like babies because they don't like the Fox News Channel. They've written a letter to Rupert Murdoch, the HWMWIC of the corporation that owns Fox News Channel with a demand; to wit: "The responsibility of the media is to report the news in an unbiased, impartial, and objective manner. It seems clear that the Fox News network has a deliberate bias [that] has the effect of improving the president's standing with the American people on the basis of not news, but disinformation." Signatories include Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, John Conyers of Michigan and Pete Stark of California, staunch leftists all. We are making phone calls to the offices of Schakowsky, Conyers and Stark to see if they will share with Neal Boortz Show listeners some examples of the Fox News Channel disinformation campaign that causes them so much concern. For well over six months we've presented a challenge to Boortz listeners; a challenge to call the show with just one example of bias in the news reporting of Fox News Channel. Six months, my friends, and not one single valid example has been presented. Perhaps some of these congressional Democrats will rise to the challenge. The problem here is that Democrats are dismayed that so many Americans are now tuning to a cable news channel that does not present a clear left-wing bias. Leftists and Democrats are so used to the blatant liberal bias that exists in the media that they mistakenly view a lack of such bias as evidence of some sort of a right-wing conspiracy.
Allow me to share one particularly interesting study that Bozell presented in his book. The Clinton years saw the emergence of a man named Larry Klayman and his group Judicial Watch. Judicial Watch filed several lawsuits against the Clinton administration dealing with such things as campaign finance irregularities. The media treatment of Klayman and Judicial Watch was brutal. Time magazine wrote "Even in the fang-bearing world of Bill Clinton's most dedicated pursuers, Larry Klayman is in a class by himself." A review of stories featuring Klayman and Judicial Watch by Bozell's Media Research Center showed that it was a rare occasion indeed when Judicial Watch was mentioned in a network news cast without the accompanying "conservative" label. Things changed, however, in 2002. And why did things change? Because Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against none other than the hated Vice President, Dick Cheney over his connections with Halliburton. Bozell uses CNN's Judy Woodruff as an example.
Clever, don't you think? When Judicial Watch sues Clinton, it's a "conservative group." When it sues Cheney, it's a "watchdog group." Read Bozell's book. He has example after example of the media referring to Judicial Watch as a "conservative group" when Clinton was the target; and as a "watchdog group" when the target was Dick Cheney. Bias can be somewhat subtle, my friends. This example of bias wouldn't be so crystal clear to a viewer without the historical context. The Democrats who signed this letter to Murdoch are frightened. For decades they have been relying on the willing assistance of the mainstream media in their efforts to implement their big-government socialist agenda. Now that upstart Fox News is starting to make inroads into their territory; something that must be stopped. We'll see if any of those frightened whiners will talk to us today.
Imagine if April 15th were just another day...and you didn't have to worry
about "doing your taxes" and you got to keep every penny you
earned? Imagine if your take-home pay was closer to the "gross"
than the "net?"
So .. you can't wait for the book to come out? We have two ways to help you pass the time. First ... listen to the show today. We're going to interview Dr. Louis Letson, the doctor who treated Kerry for his first Purple Heart wound. Second, you can pass the time reading an actual chapter of the book. Just click here to read a chapter entitled "The Purple Heart Hunter" from the book that has been acquired by Human Events. I read the chapter before I went on the air today. I am convinced that John Kerry lied to obtain at least one of his cherished Purple Hearts, and that his service in Vietnam showed more connivance and cowardice than it did valor. The book will be interesting, no doubt. Even more interesting may be the tactics the Democrats use to discredit the Vietnam Vets who wrote it. This one could very well be bloody. Clinton had to subdue bimbo eruptions. Kerry has Vietnam Vet eruptions. People will pay more attention these vets than they did to Clinton's bimbos. .... for the next Kerry supporter to call and tell me that Al Gore really won the 2000 election in Florida. I've been doing some reading. Let's just sit and wait for the phone call. It is, after all, inevitable. Maybe we can talk to the Honorable Corrine Brown about this.
Let me tell you what I think has really happened here. I haven't bought the Accuser's story from the very beginning. As I've said on the air, I think that what we have had here is a case of some young woman deciding that it would be cool to "do" a huge NBA star. Remorse sets in as soon as she leaves Kobe's room ... remorse as well as fear. What if her parents find out? What if they find out that not only did she have sex with a perfect stranger, but that stranger was black to boot! The only way out? Claim rape. Believe me, this very scenario has happened untold hundreds of times across the country ... and it is not ridiculous to believe that it may have happened again with Kobe Bryant. No doubt the Accuser is wishing this would all go away. Not only did she claim she was raped, she claimed that she was injured in assault. That opened the door for the defense team to ask questions about just how those injuries were suffered, which opened the door to inquiries about any other sexual encounters the Accuser may have had either immediately before or after her encounter with Bryant. Lo and behold, DNA evidence discloses that the Accuser had sex with another man, known now as Mr. "X", in the hours following her alleged rape. Things aren't looking so good. Now she is going to have to get on the stand, in front of her family, and explain why she left Kobe Bryant's hotel room and jumped into yet another bed with yet another man, all while recovering from the ravages of a violent rape. Here's where I think this is going to happen. Within a week or so we'll learn that the Accuser is going to refuse to testify. The prosecutors will drop the case. The Accuser will then file a civil lawsuit against Kobe. The standard of proof in a civil case is somewhat less that in a criminal case. As soon as the civil case is filed the Accuser and her handlers will begin a public relations campaign trying to smear Kobe Bryant for not settling. This is the tactic that has been perfected by various civil rights groups. You file a discrimination complaint that has no merits. You then demand a settlement and use any refusal by the defendant to settle as evidence of the defendants animosity toward your particular minority group. Kobe's refusal to settle will be portrayed by the Accuser as merely a continuation of his assault ... an assault that began in that resort hotel room in Vail, Colorado. Kobe needs to settle things with his wife, not with the accuser. Stand
fast.
READING ASSIGNMENTS Given The Poodle's abysmal showing after his convention, the predictions are already pouring in. Why Bush will win, from Zev Chafets. The Sandy Berger affair shows that the Clinton scandals continue, and Ann Coulter wonders if they will ever end. As always, a good read. Think there was some glorious, nonpartisan moment after 9/11 when Democrats and Republicans were united? Think again, says Byron York, who calls the whole thing a myth. A hearing is set today in the stabbing deaths of Carl and Sarah Collier...did you see the picture of that psychotic little monster Holly Harvey leaving the Sheriff's Office? She'll be tried as an adult. Hopefully she will spend the rest of her miserable life in jail. It's official....Alan Keyes has been chosen to run against Barack Obama in Illinois for the United States Senate. This is a race to watch. Larry Kudlow takes a look at Speaker Dennis Hastert's plans in his book for taxes and government reform. More support for the National Sales Tax. The Poodle made some interesting statements during his speech before the Democratic National Convention. George Will has some questions, but something tells me sKerry doesn't have any answers. PETA has responded to Professor Mike Adams' column about their organization, and Mr. Adams has faithfully given them equal time. The Johns may not have survived their own convention, but Larry Elder did, and he has some interesting stories to tell about Janeane Garofalo and Air America. Don't miss this one. Think the left just dominates the federal government? Not at all, says Thomas Sowell, who has an example from the People's Republic of Soviet Monica, California. The Republican National Convention is coming up in just a few weeks, and Robert Novak says it looks like won't be much debate over the platform. Alleged shoplifter flees Decatur, Alabama sex shop after filling out employment application. A woman was killed after her husband fell from a ladder as he pruned some garden trees and his chainsaw struck her on the neck. | ||
