A STUCK PIG SQUEALS

In this case the stuck pigs are several congressional democrats.  They're squealing like babies because they don't like the Fox News Channel.  They've written a letter to Rupert Murdoch, the HWMWIC of the corporation that owns Fox News Channel with a demand; to wit:

"The responsibility of the media is to report the news in an unbiased, impartial, and objective manner.  It seems clear that the Fox News network has a deliberate bias [that] has the effect of improving the president's standing with the American people on the basis of not news, but disinformation."

Signatories include Jan Schakowsky of Illinois, John Conyers of Michigan and Pete Stark of California, staunch leftists all.  We are making phone calls to the offices of Schakowsky, Conyers and Stark to see if they will share with Neal Boortz Show listeners some examples of the Fox News Channel disinformation campaign that causes them so much concern.  For well over six months we've presented a challenge to Boortz listeners; a challenge to call the show with just one example of bias in the news reporting of Fox News Channel.  Six months, my friends, and not one single valid example has been presented.  Perhaps some of these congressional Democrats will rise to the challenge.

The problem here is that Democrats are dismayed that so many Americans are now tuning to a cable news channel that does not present a clear left-wing bias.  Leftists and Democrats are so used to the blatant liberal bias that exists in the media that they mistakenly view a lack of such bias as evidence of some sort of a right-wing conspiracy.

At this point I urge you .. nay, I BEG you to click on this link and order a book from Amazon.com.  The name of the book is "Weapons of Mass Distortion  The Coming Meltdown of the Liberal Media" by L. Brent Bozell III.  The book is the result of meticulous research over a period of years.  It is impossible for anyone with the logical thinking skills of a hamster to read this richly documented book and still not admit the overbearing liberal bias in the media.  As Bozell points out, even if Fox News were biased, a fact neither he nor I will concede, it is just one media outlet in the liberal morass of CBS, NBC, CNN, CNN Headline News, CNBC AND MSNBC.  The combined viewership of the three major broadcast networks is over ten times the combined total prime time audience for Fox, CNN and MSNBC.  Some threat.

Allow me to share one particularly interesting study that Bozell presented in his book.  The Clinton years saw the emergence of a man named Larry Klayman and his group Judicial Watch.  Judicial Watch filed several lawsuits against the Clinton administration dealing with such things as campaign finance irregularities.  The media treatment of Klayman and Judicial Watch was brutal.  Time  magazine wrote "Even in the fang-bearing world of Bill Clinton's most dedicated pursuers, Larry Klayman is in a class by himself."  A review of stories featuring Klayman and Judicial Watch by Bozell's Media Research Center showed that it was a rare occasion indeed when Judicial Watch was mentioned in a network news cast without the accompanying "conservative" label.  Things changed, however, in 2002.  And why did things change?  Because Judicial Watch filed a lawsuit against none other than the hated Vice President, Dick Cheney over his connections with Halliburton.

Bozell uses CNN's Judy Woodruff as an example.

  • March 3, 1998.  Woodruff reports that "lawyers for the conservative group Judicial Watch" had some questions about Bill Clinton and FBI files.
  • July 10, 2002.  Woodruff, reporting on the lawsuit against Cheney, says "The reviews of President Bush's speech on that subject [corporate responsibility] were still coming in today as a watchdog group said that it was suing Vice President Dick Cheney."

Clever, don't you think?  When Judicial Watch sues Clinton, it's a "conservative group."  When it sues Cheney, it's a "watchdog group."

Read Bozell's book.  He has example after example of the media referring to Judicial Watch as a "conservative group" when Clinton was the target; and as a "watchdog group" when the target was Dick Cheney.  Bias can be somewhat subtle, my friends.  This example of bias wouldn't be so crystal clear to a viewer without the historical context.

The Democrats who signed this letter to Murdoch are frightened.  For decades they have been relying on the willing assistance of the mainstream media in their efforts to implement their big-government socialist agenda.  Now that upstart Fox News is starting to make inroads into their territory; something that must be stopped.

We'll see if any of those frightened whiners will talk to us today.

NO TAX REFORM AFTER ALL???

This is kind of a bummer.  House Speaker Dennis Hastert has said that he is committed to abolishing the Internal Revenue Service, but he doesn't expect President Bush to make it a campaign issue.  "I think that's a piece they don't want to bite off in the campaign,"  said the Speaker.  Too bad, but I warned you.  Campaign issue .. no.  But you very well might see it come up as a priority policy initiative in the second Bush term ---- if there is a second Bush term.

On the bright side, House Majority Leader Tom DeLay has said the Republicans are determined to repeal the federal income tax and replace it with a national sales tax.  DeLay has endorsed John Linder's proposal, which is essentially the Fair tax plan, and it's a good one.  Big plus if Bush gets on board, and I can tell you that there is considerable support inside the White House for the plan.

Imagine if April 15th were just another day...and you didn't have to worry about "doing your taxes" and you got to keep every penny you earned?  Imagine if your take-home pay was closer to the "gross" than the "net?"

Abolishing the IRS and no longer taxing income would be one of the single greatest developments in the United States in our lifetimes.

UNFIT FOR COMMAND

The book "Unfit for Command: Swift Boat Veterans Speak Out Against John Kerry" is now number one at Amazon.com.  It's number one and the book hasn't even been released yet.  Democrats are being put on suicide watch.  The TV ad is out featuring some of John Kerry's Vietnam comrades-in-arm telling us just why they don't think that The Poodle is fit to be the Commander in Chief of US armed forces.

So .. you can't wait for the book to come out?  We have two ways to help you pass the time. First ... listen to the show today.  We're going to interview Dr. Louis Letson, the doctor who treated Kerry for his first Purple Heart wound.  Second, you can pass the time reading an actual chapter of the book.  Just  click here to read a chapter entitled "The Purple Heart Hunter" from the book that has been acquired by Human Events.  I read the chapter before I went on the air today.  I am convinced that John Kerry lied to obtain at least one of his cherished Purple Hearts, and that his service in Vietnam showed more connivance and cowardice than it did valor.

The book will be interesting, no doubt.  Even more interesting may be the tactics the Democrats use to discredit the Vietnam Vets who wrote it.  This one could very well be bloody.  Clinton had to subdue bimbo eruptions.  Kerry has Vietnam Vet eruptions.  People will pay more attention these vets than they did to Clinton's bimbos.

I CAN'T WAIT ....

.... for the next Kerry supporter to call and tell me that Al Gore really won the 2000 election in Florida.  I've been doing some reading.  Let's just sit and wait for the phone call.  It is, after all, inevitable. Maybe we can talk to the Honorable Corrine Brown about this.

THE MEDIA DOUBLE STANDARD

You are about to see an explosion in the media that will demonstrate media bias as never before.  Remember Sandy Berger?  This was President Clinton's former National Security Adviser that has been accused of stealing top-secret, classified 'code-word' documents from the National Archives.  Code-word documents are the some of the nation's highest secrets...right up there with nuclear secrets.  Mr. Berger is being accused of stealing them from the National Archives by stuffing them in his pants, his pockets, his socks, wherever he could hide them.  A Justice Department inquiry is ongoing.  Sandy Berger worked for The Poodle's campaign up until the story broke.

Where is the story now?  Swept off the front page.  The reason?  Berger is a Democrat....and the media believes that the story might hurt The Poodle in this year's campaign.  They are sheltering him from bad publicity...he is being given a pass.  It's no longer front-page news.  In fact,  you hardly hear about it anymore. Interesting, huh?

Now comes a story of a different sort.  The Washington Post is reporting that federal investigators have concluded that Senator Richard Shelby divulged classified intercepted messages to the media when he was on the Senate Select Committee on Intelligence.  They're saying he told Fox's Carl Cameron and CNN's Dana Bash about it. The Justice Department declined to prosecute, and has referred the matter to the Senate Ethics Committee.  So what's the point?

Shelby is a Republican....and the worst kind to the left, he used to be a Democrat.  To them, not only is he the enemy, but a traitor.  Watch them nail him to the wall on this one....he won't get a single break, all because he is a Republican.  Contrast what he did with what Berger did, and it's not even close.  But don't tell that to the media and the Democrats, because they'll be screaming for his resignation.

Is the media biased? Absolutely...need proof?  Just sit back and watch.

KOBE'S "ACCUSER" WILL SOON BE CALLED "PLAINTIFF"

TODAY'S GEM
When Neal asked Royal what taking Viagra was like, Royal answered "Like using a corked bat."
It looks like the woman known as "Kobe's Accuser" might soon drop out of the case.  Her attorney says that she has lost faith in the system.  She's understandably upset that there have been several court errors that have resulted in her name being leaked to the press.

Let me tell you what I think has really happened here.  I haven't bought the Accuser's story from the very beginning.  As I've said on the air, I think that what we have had here is a case of some young woman deciding that it would be cool to "do" a huge NBA star.  Remorse sets in as soon as she leaves Kobe's room ... remorse as well as fear.  What if her parents find out?  What if they find out that not only did she have sex with a perfect stranger, but that stranger was black to boot!  The only way out?  Claim rape.  Believe me, this very scenario has happened untold hundreds of times across the country ... and it is not ridiculous to believe that it may have happened again with Kobe Bryant.

No doubt the Accuser is wishing this would all go away.  Not only did she claim she was raped, she claimed that she was injured in assault.  That opened the door for the defense team to ask questions about just how those injuries were suffered, which opened the door to inquiries about any other sexual encounters the Accuser may have had either immediately before or after her encounter with Bryant.  Lo and behold, DNA evidence discloses that the Accuser had sex with another man, known now as Mr. "X", in the hours following her alleged rape.  Things aren't looking so good.  Now she is going to have to get on the stand, in front of her family, and explain why she left Kobe Bryant's hotel room and jumped into yet another bed with yet another man, all while recovering from the ravages of a violent rape.

Here's where I think this is going to happen.  Within a week or so we'll learn that the Accuser is going to refuse to testify.  The prosecutors will drop the case.  The Accuser will then file a civil lawsuit against Kobe.  The standard of proof in a civil case is somewhat less that in a criminal case.  As soon as the civil case is filed the Accuser and her handlers will begin a public relations campaign trying to smear Kobe Bryant for not settling.  This is the tactic that has been perfected by various civil rights groups.  You file a discrimination complaint that has no merits.  You then demand a settlement and use any refusal by the defendant to settle as evidence of the defendants animosity toward your particular minority group.  Kobe's refusal to settle will be portrayed by the Accuser as merely a continuation of his assault  ... an assault that began in that resort hotel room in Vail, Colorado.

Kobe needs to settle things with his wife, not with the accuser.  Stand fast.
