THE MOVEON.ORG TELEVISION AD

The Kerry crowd is running an ad that says that George Bush used his father to get into the Texas Air National Guard during the Vietnam war.  Just so you know, there is no record anywhere of any interference by or influence brought to bear by Bush the Elder in Bush the Younger's acceptance into the guard.  Not that you leftists care.

Point two.  That ad from Moveon.org, an anti-Bush group financed by a mysterious Hungarian-born international financier, also features an image of someone stamping George Bush's National Guard records with "failure to appear."  There is no such stamp, and there has never been any charge by the National Guard George Bush failed to appear, or, as the ad says, "went missing."  The Moveon.org ad also says that George Bush was grounded.  That, too, is a lie.  George Bush made the decision on his own to relinquish his flying status in the National Guard.

It's interesting that the Democrats need to create lies and falsehoods to campaign against George Bush?

LET'S SEE IF THE MEDIA COVERS THIS DEMOCRAT LIE

Earlier this week Iowa Democratic Senator Tom Harkin called Vice President Dick Cheney a "coward" for not serving in Vietnam.  In the past Harkin has bragged about his own status as a Vietnam Veteran.  Harkin told the media that he flew combat air patrols in Vietnam for a year.  Well ... big uh oh.  It seems that Harkin was lying.  (Big surprise).  It turns out that Harkin was actually stationed in Japan and his flying duties consisted of ferrying aircraft to the Philippines from Japan to be repaired.  When Harkin's lie was exposed he started calling himself a "Vietnam Era Vet."  He still hasn't explained the lie about the combat air patrols.   And this is the guy the Democrats send out to call Cheney a "coward?"  Can't they do better than this?

ANOTHER LITTLE ITSY THOUGHT ON PRICE GOUGING.

Price gouging in Florida?  You want price gouging?  Try to buy a soft drink at a movie theatre.  Now that's price gouging.

IT'S WHAT THEY DON'T TELL YOU

The Congressional Budget Office has produced a new set of statistics showing who pays what taxes in America.  The lyin' left has seized on these statistics to say that the CBO figures show that the George Bush tax cuts shifted a good bit of the tax burden from the rich to the middle class.

Not so fast.  Just in case you run across some of these news stories, and in case you actually believe that the federal income tax burden has been shifted from the rich to the middle class, there's something you need to know.

The media wanted  to take these CBO numbers and report them in a way that would make the Bush tax cuts look bad.  It's all part of the template.  If you can spin a story so that it looks favorable to Kerry, and bad for Bush ... do it.   How do you monkey with the CBO figures to accomplish this?  Simple ... you include Social Security and Medicare taxes in your equation.  The Bush tax cuts cut income tax rates, not Social Security or Medicare rates.  The only fair way to report on how these tax cuts affected the various income levels would be to cite income tax rates only.  Guess what?  If you only include numbers from who is paying what federal income taxes you will find that the rich are paying a higher percentage of income taxes collected by the federal government now than they were before the tax cuts!!!  Now those of you educated in government schools may think that it's impossible to cut tax rates on the rich and then have them pay an even higher percentage of the taxes.  Try to think outside the government school box.  It has been proven time and time again that when you lower tax rates on the rich ... when you allow the rich to keep a higher percentage of the money that they work for and earn ... they will work even harder to earn even more!  As they work harder they end up paying more income taxes than before, even though their actual tax rate is lower.

It's simple. Reward the rich for their efforts, and they'll work even harder.  The harder they work, the more taxes they pay.  Now, after the tax cuts, they're shouldering an even higher percentage of the burden then before.  This is a message the media doesn't want to convey, because it's a message that supports Bush's tax cuts.  That's why they're playing with the numbers.

TASERED BY THE COPS ... AND WHY?

By now you've already seen the video.  It's been on most of the cable news channels, including Fox News and CNN.  It's a videotape of Ft. Meyers police stunning a citizen with an electric shock because he tried to drive by them to get to his home .... HIS HOME ... four days after the passage of Hurricane Charley.  This man was shot with a stun gun, dragged out his car in front of his children, thrown on the ground, handcuffed and taken to jail ... because he wanted to go home.

Even before this hurricane hit I was telling you that people would refuse to abide by evacuation orders, not because they wanted to defy death by facing down a hurricane, but because they didn't want to be prevented from returning to their homes after the hurricane passed.  Now the Ft. Meyers police have brilliantly demonstrated just what I was talking about.

For most of us our homes are the biggest investment we will ever make.  Most of us have the bulk of our net worth tied up in our homes.  When we protect and defend our homes we are protecting a good portion of our life's work and the very basis of our financial security.  These police in Ft. Meyers got between a man and his home ... and that's never a real good place to make a stand.

Yes, I understand that there are safety concerns.  Fine.  Tell the people that returning to their home might be dangerous, and then let them make an informed decision as to whether or not they wish to undertake that risk.  Our laws will permit us to jump out of perfectly good airplanes, ride boats through the Grand Canyon and have unprotected sex with strangers, but we can't go back to our homes after a hurricane?

This is just the beginning of the hurricane season in Florida.  There are more on the way.  People have memories.  If another hurricane threatens U.S. coastal areas this year .. .or in the next few years ... and if mandatory evacuation orders are given, people are going to remember what these Ft. Meyers police officers did to this man yesterday, and they're going to elect to stay with their homes.  They will stay with their homes because they want to be there when the hurricane passes to pick up the pieces, not waiting at some police roadblock for a week while government inspectors tromp through their homes.  Some of these people will stay ... and maybe some of these people will die.   If this does happen the question will have to be asked, were these people the victims of a hurricane, or ultimately the victims of overblown government?

THIS WILL BE SEEN AS BIAS

Last night Brit Hume interviewed John O'Neill, the author of Unfit For Command, the book featuring the thoughts of the Swift Boat veterans who aren't all that fond of John Kerry.  Brit Hume asked him about his motivations for writing the book. Hume also made reference to highly favorable comments about Kerry in the official Navy record.  He asked O'Neill why  America should not believe what is in the official records.  Then Hume mentioned that a book praising Kerry's military service, Tour of Duty, was released to considerable acclaim.  In other words, Hume went out of his way to make O'Neill defend the points in his book, a job which O'Neill handled quite well.  Hume also asked O'Neill if he was a Republican activist that had contributed considerable funds to Republican candidates over the years.  O'Neill responded that the records show that he had contributed more than $25,000 to Democrats, and just a bit over $7,000 to Republicans over the past 15 years.

I'm telling you all this to illustrate that it was not an easy interview for O'Neill.  Just the same, the very fact that Hume had O'Neill on the air will be seen as evidence of the alleged right-wing bias of Fox News.

In the meantime ... check to see what how much coverage this book is getting from the rest of the mainstream media.  Sit down ... it's going to take a while.

Al-SADR REFUSES PEACE DELEGATION

In an attempt to stop the fighting in Najaf, the Iraqi government sent a peace delegation there yesterday to meet with Muqtada al-Sadr, the Islamic terrorist and leader of the Mahdi army that is fighting U.S. troops there.  Rather than bomb these bastards back to the stone age, the Iraqis are trying to resolve it peacefully.  So what did they get upon their arrival in Najaf to meet with this al-Sadr character?

He refused to meet with them. Al-Sadr's goons are holed up at Imam Ali Mosque, which is supposedly one of Shiite Muslim's holiest shrines.  Well guess what, it's time to turn their holy shrine into a giant crater.  This is the umpteenth time the Iraqis have tried to negotiate with this psychotic weirdo, and they have gotten nowhere.  If these cowards want to hole up in a mosque thinking we won't bomb it, then it's time to call their bluff.

If negotiating with terrorists actually worked, we would have done it a long time ago.  It's time to put this one to bed.

THE POODLE CAUGHT IN ANOTHER LIE

Fresh off his 'Christmas in Cambodia' fairy tale, The Poodle has been caught in another whopper, this time regarding one of his Purple Hearts.  This is separate from the questions surrounding his being awarded the Purple Heart in the first place.

It looks like Kerry has contradicted himself in his own diary.  In Douglas Brinkley's "Tour of Duty," which is Kerry's official, approved war biography, The Poodle writes an entry after a mission.  In that entry he says that after several missions he has not yet taken any enemy fire.  Ok .. big deal. Big whoop, right?  Sorry .. but actually this is a big deal.

The problem here is that this particular entry in Kerry's diary was made concerning the mission which followed that mission where he earned his first Purple Heart.   Now .. think this one through.  Kerry goes on a mission and earns a Purple Heart.  Then, after his next mission, Kerry writes in his diary that he has not yet experienced any enemy fire.  Tell me .. if Kerry had not yet experienced enemy fire then how did he earn a Purple Heart?

Again, just as with Swift Boat Veterans for Truth allegations, somebody is lying.  Is it The Poodle, who has now been caught in yet another lie, or those who have nothing to gain by pointing out the inconsistencies?

Shouldn't the media be taking a look at this?  That's right...I forgot. The media is so pro-Kerry they will never do anything to damage his chances in the presidential election.   They really need to concentrate on figuring out whether or not George Bush showed up for guard service.

LETTERS ... WE GET LETTERS ... WE GET LOTS AND LOTS OF LETTERS ...

  • Neal,  I just wanted to thank you for your outspoken defense of the free market on your show today. All of what you are saying is the truth, and unfortunately it is truth that people are often afraid to say. After all, it is easy for people to condemn the "eeevil rich store owners" who would make a profit at the expense of all those poor, homeless hurricane victims (and those who support said store owners' rights to set their own prices as you have found out). Unfortunately, the fiction that price discrimination hurts the consumer will doubtless continue for a long time -- but people like you who are not afraid to speak the truth on price discrimination may change things some day. I can only hope... Well done, and keep up the good work.
  • Oh, and I caught a statement that you made regarding lack of economic education in public schools, and it is the sad truth. I am even now caught in the jaws of said public education system (but only for one more year! Yess!). I learned far more economics from scraps of dinner-table conversation (my father teaches economics at a local university) than I ever did from anything we've done in school. I don't see any way around that except for school vouchers... but I'm not going to get into that right now.  Thank you again!  --Stuart
  • you bigoted bastard how dare you compare florida voters to terrorists. your wrong for saying that they should be burried in a grave. your a moron for saying that! bush was given the election by that wicked Katherine Harris and thousands of black voters were disenfrachised. your a moron and a propangist.  Mike Schonewolf  (Note:  The Talkmaster has no idea what in the hell Mike Schonewolf is talking about, but the letter is fun so I included it here anyway.)
  • Listened to you re price gouging in FL. Was becoming a fan of yours but your discourse on gouging has placed you, in my opinion, in the company of pundits the likes of Letterman, Leno, Conan and Rodney.  Will check in on your program from time to time for comedic content. By the way, didn't hear much from Royal as to whether he shared your thoughts on gouging.  Glen Taranto
  • I was scanning the AM airwaves, when I happened on your show. You are quite entertaining. I can't really believe that you actually believe most of what you say. I'm sure that most of it sensationalism, geared to create a larger listener base of biggoted, uninformed people. When you cut off the black man and told him that he was too stupid to listen to your show, I finally caught on to the fact that you had to be kidding. However, as a believer in the National Sales tax for years, I do have to thank you for pushing that issue. But you can't really be serious about limiting who can vote, right? Who will decide who gets to vote...you? That would surely be a crime against humanity, and I'd advocate humane euthanasia for you to cure your problem. I won't be listening, so you can read my email real slow to make it sound stupid, just as you did with every other piece of mail that you didn't agree with. It doesn't matter...I know who you are and I know what you are. But then again, y ou probably won't read this email on your show, because it is literate, right?  Paul
  • Neal,    I know you dont like to hear this stuff, but I am compelled to send this mail. 6 years ago, my company's secretary took her 9 year old son to work with her. That day he asked me " Do you listen to Boortz?" I said no. He said' You should, he's really cool. I've been hooked ever since. I'm on the road around Atl every day, and have to have my Boortz fix every day. You make me laugh, you piss me off, you entertain me, but most importantly, you make me think!!!  Thank you for being there.  Randy B     P. S.  I Sure miss Belinda!!!!!
  • I have been a life-long Democrat, and I had every intention of voting for John Kerry in the upcoming election.  But then I read a logical, well-reasoned argument from you suggesting that voting for a Democrat is worse than supporting terrorists.  I had never thought of the issue that way before.  Your level-headed thinking has changed my mind.  Thank you for showing me the light.  If not for you, our country would be driven into certain ruin by those terrori-- I mean, Democrats.  You are a saint. Frank
  • I heard you read some e-mails on Tuesday in which you were called an ass for some of your comments and opinions. I agree, you are an ass. But I agree with most of what you say. If I disagree, I still enjoy your opinion. My conclusion is that I'm an ass too. Patrick

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Teacher's unions don't like competition with government schools.  Teacher's unions don't like charter schools.  Teacher's unions will lie about charter schools.  Here's your proof.

Who will decide the next presidential election?  Will it be the voters? If you ask Dick Morris, it's all up to Osama Bin Laden.

The Poodle is going to be speaking out against President Bush's plans to bring home 70,000 U.S. troops from overseas bases.  Weasley Clark is calling it a mistake. I am sure the 70,000 troops' families feel differently.

'Unfit for Command' is flying off the shelves....and The Washington Times has the first of three excerpts...free.  Don't you love the Internet?

The Kerry campaign is up in arms about George Bush bringing troops home from Germany...and John Podhoretz says they have to be kidding.

In the war on terror, racial profiling not only makes sense, but our very survival as a nation may depend on it.  Michelle Malkin explains.

Europe has been skating by for decades on free national defense provided by the United States, and it's time for it to end.  Mark Steyn has more.

By publicly coming out of the closet, New Jersey Governor James McGreevey is hiding an even bigger sin: political corruption.  James Pinkerton breaks it down.

What's the solution to violence against women?  If you ask Mike Adams, it's more guns.  He's having a hard time finding anyone that agrees, though.

The FBI's efforts at preventing terrorism are being met with howls of protest, and Michelle Malkin says it's all just part of the left's war on the FBI.

You know that Congressional Budget Office study about how the rich are getting richer and the poor  are getting poorer?  Robert Novak says it's all about politics, and the nonpartisan agency sure is doing it's best to help The Poodle.

The media can't hide John Kerry's Cambodia fantasy anymore, and questions are starting to be asked. Tony Blankley looks at the controversy.

Major investors are predicting a Kerry win in November.  But we are talking about Euro-weenie investors here.
