HOW
TO FIGHT THE AARP
This email came in yesterday from Joshua: "I know the AARP is out there holding back progress for SS reform. Is
there any group of younger people to join to fight against the AARP?"
Damned
good question, Joshua. If you are a young American you should
consider the AARP to be your enemy. There is no doubt that the
AARP has declared financial war on the younger people in America. They
are going to use their considerable clout in Washington to make sure that
younger Americans will never .. and I mean NEVER be allowed to put their Social
Security taxes into a privately owned account that can be passed on to their
heirs when they take that eventual dirt nap.
The problem here is that young people are more concerned with: (a) partying
(b) hooking up
(c) reality shows
(d) sports
(e) which Hip Hop cultural icon is going to shoot which Hip Hop cultural icon
this week
(f) South Beach
(g) getting an HD television
(h) who is doing what to whom in Hollywood.
Only later, when you finally realize how you have been ripped off by the
"Gimme Generation" will you become even slightly interested in what
has been happening to that 14% of your paycheck that is being poured into
the Social Security rat hole. Does anyone have any ideas on organizations who could be enlisted to fight
the AARP? SNOWBOARDERS
FROM HELL
Show me the button.
Which button? The button to push that would get every scroungy
snowboarder off the slopes for good. They're thugs with no respect or
concern for the others on the slopes. A snowboarder is to a ski slope what
a graffiti tagger is to the world of art. Pigs. Here's another letter from a Boortz listener detailing his encounter with a
boarder: Neal,
I was in and out of my car 12/13, but heard bits and pieces of your thoughts
re: snowboarders. I am 55 years old Maine resident and an avid
skier. I was "blindsided" by a 17 year old snowboarder Jan
'01. I got an airlift ride, 18 days in the hospital and years of rehab
out of it, along w/ a compound femur break, damaged femoral artery, collapsed
right lung, 3 broken ribs, separated clavicle, and concussion. I'd
love to help you rag on snowboarders. The little twerp never told
anyone (his parents) about the incident. They found out 12 days after when
contacted by my counsel.
Can snowboarding be rehabilitated? Perhaps so. But it's going to
take a generation. Until the current crop of sleazy snowboarding teens and
twenty-somethings pass from the scene they'll continue to be the lepers of the
slopes. BUY
BLUE? I DON'T THINK SO.
Now here is an
interesting website for you to take a look at. The title says
"Choose the Blue." By searching the various categories through
this website you can discover which political party PACs are supported by
various corporations and corporate employees in several fields of
business. The object of the website is to get loyal Democrats to stop
spending their money with companies that lend the greater support to the
Republican party. Some examples: - In the auto insurance category, Progressive Insurance shows a 91% support
for Democrats while State Farm shows an 81% level of support for
Republicans.
- Virtually all automakers, with the exception of Toyota, leaned heavily to
the Republican side. The donation amounts from Toyota were so small as
to be meaningless.
- Ditto for auto dealers. They leaned heavily Republican. Exceptions
include the Don Beyer Automotive Group and the Potamkin Companies which
leaned heavily Democrat; 100% for Don Beyer who operates in the DC beltway
area.
- Grocery stores? Costco is 98% on the Democratic side. Wal-Mart
grocery stores and employees donate heavily Republican
Starbucks? Are you kidding? Solid Democrat.
- Do you like Brusters ice cream? 100% Democratic. Blue Bird and
Flowers Industries? 100% Republican. Coca Cola? 66%
Republican. Sara Lee? Democratic.
- How about some fast food! Arby's -- 100% Democratic. Wendy's
--- 91% Republican. McDonalds? 80% Republican.
- Restaurants? Hard Rock Cafe International donates 100%
Democrat. Waffle House is 99% Republican. No wonder I love
Waffle House!
- Beer! Drink up. Anheuser-Bush donates 56% to 44% Republican.
- Retail stores? Barnes & Noble is 98% Democrat. No wonder I
had such a rough times getting "The Terrible Truth About Liberals"
stocked at Barnes and Noble. Home Depot ... 94% Republican. Bed
Bath & Beyond .. 93% Democrat. Dollar General .. 100% Republican.
- For you fashion conscious folks. Anne Klein Inc. is 100%
Democrat. Donna Karan is 91% Democrat. Ralph Lauren .. 100%
Democrat. Tommy Hilfiger ... 91% Democrat. Fruit of the Loom,
100% Republican. Guess jeans? 83% Republican. Those Cintas
uniform people? 100% Republican.
- Computers? Apple Computer, 81% Democrat. Dell Computers?
77% Republican. Vision? Republican.
I want you to cruise these categories ... you will see that there are
occasional businesses who support Democratic Party politics to a greater extent
than they do Republicans .. but for the most part you will see heavy support for
Republican policies. IRAN
AND SYRIA AIDING TERRORISTS
Yesterday, Iraq's Defense Minister Hazem Shaalan accused Iran and Syria of
supporting terrorists in his country. He also says they also have
information that Iran is the #1 supporter of terrorism in Iraq. Big
surprise, right? Hardly.
He also said that Syrian intelligence agents are cooperating with Al-Zarqawi's
group in Iraq and causing problems. Al-Zarqawi's group is an Al-Qaeda
organization. But wait...according to the left, Al-Qaeda was never in
Iraq! Guess they never got the memo.
But the Iraqi Defense Minister also said something very telling. When
asked why the insurgents were fighting in Iraq, he hit the nail on the head:
"They are fighting us because we want to build freedom and democracy and
they want to build an Islamic dictatorship and have turbaned clerics to rule in
Iraq." Too bad the anti-American media around the world and in this
country doesn't want to see it.
Here's an idea. Remember when Bush said you were either with us, or you
were with the terrorists? Why don't we just start bombing Iran and Syria
in 5 minutes? Maybe the answer to the problems in the Middle East is just
to start over.
A
TAX ON THE STUPID
Those
of you that play the lottery know that your odds of winning are virtually
nonexistent. Those that do play are lured down the primrose path by
promises that "somebody always wins." Well, somebody may always
win, but odds are it's never going to be you. That's why the lottery has
long been called a tax on the stupid.
But just in case you've decided that you're going to plan for your retirement by
playing the lottery, take note of this story from West Virginia. The
winner of the largest single jackpot in lottery history, 57-year-old Jack
Whittaker, has been arrested twice for drunk driving, been sent to rehab and
just Monday pleaded no contest to assault. In other words, winning $314.9
million bucks hasn't quite worked out for this guy.
So now his wife says she wishes he had never won. That's right, she
doesn't want the money anymore. She was quoted as saying "I wish all
of this never would have happened. I wish I would have torn the ticket
up."
It may be true that money can't buy happiness, but in this guy's case, it can't
buy any brains either.
READING ASSIGNMENTS Perhaps Leonel Arias should rethink this idea of trying to hail a cab while
wearing an Osama bin Laden mask How
long do we put up with Syrian efforts to undermine the U.S. in Iraq?
Well, since the left is working so hard to pull the teeth out of American
foreign policy ... perhaps for a long, long time. The Air Marshall's program is a disaster, and Michelle
Malkin says their dress code is an excellent illustration of why the cops in
the sky are going to lose their effectiveness.
From the truly tasteless category: according
to Drudge, former New York Police Commissioner Bernard Kerik was doing his
girlfriends in an apartment overlooking Ground Zero just after 9/11.
Zell
Miller has joined Fox News as a contributor. Television will never be
the same.
The
Christmas Tree in the lobby of the federal building in Jacksonville, Florida
has been removed. Yup, you guessed it: somebody was offended. Too
bad.
One of the things the rest of the world is trying to get us to do is put our
troops under the jurisdiction of the International Criminal Court. No
way, says Senator Jon Kyl.
While President Bush is working on his bold plan for a second term, he would be
wise to do something about immigration reform. Mort
Kondracke says the issue needs attention.
More and more money continues to be poured down the Intelligence rat hole, all
because we're spending it on outdated equipment instead of what we really need:
better people. Ralph
Peters explains.
John McCain criticized Don Rumsfeld, and so naturally the media hopped aboard
the Bush-bashing train. The
Media Research Center reports.
Higher education continues to be in decline, and in his second column in a
series, Walter
Williams tells us why.
So what is the Scott Peterson case really about? It's nothing more than a
media soap opera, and it has nothing to do with the law. Thomas
Sowell has the lowdown. Words of wisdom...don't
throw bricks at charging busses. |
