THURSDAY, February 12, 2004TREASON IN OUR RANKS? Word out this evening that military authorities at Ft. Lewis in Washington have arrested National Guardsman Ryan Anderson and have charged him with attempting to aid the enemy .. specifically, Al Qaeda. The information reportedly pertained to vulnerabilities associated with American military equipment. Anderson was caught in a sting operation set up by U.S. military officials. Agents posing as Al Qaeda operatives told Anderson that they needed the information to enable them to attack U.S. military units with greater effect so as to kill more American soldiers. And just would Ryan Anderson try to pass this information to Al Qaeda? Anderson converted to the wonderful, peaceful religion of Islam five years ago. NOT ANOTHER INTERN!!! As you undoubtedly know by now there are active rumors on the campaign trail that Democratic frontrunner John Kerry may have become just a wee bit too friendly with a female staffer ... possibly an intern ... working on his campaign. Here's the story from The Drudge Report. Who knows where this little episode is going to lead over the next few days. Does anyone remember Gary Hart? Are the American people ready for another Democratic president with an intern problem? So ... was there a little dalliance with an intern? We don't know. Drudge certainly called the last one with Bill Clinton. The next few days ought to be interesting. In the meantime, maybe you should take a look at the "Women for John Kerry" website! This is a part of the official johnkerry.com website, and carries this blurb at the top: "From volunteering to technology to policy, women are making a difference on the Kerry campaign." Yeah, I'll say. At the bottom of the page is a picture of two comely lasses with the caption "It's never too early to change the world -- women interns are our future." Better hurry. My guess is that this web page gets changed before the end of the day. Don't worry ... I have it cached. GOVERNMENT SCHOOL ALERT! They've found a fossilized insect in Scotland. It's a Rhyniognatha hirsti. The scientists have dated it back about 408 million years. Georgia School Superintendent Kathy Cox will issue a memo today ordering teachers to restrict all references to the age of the insect as "over 2000 years old." Another celebrity's shocking attempt to rescue a sagging career [NSFW!! Graphic Image!!!] KEEP TALKING, HANOI JANE ... JUST KEEP TALKING. If there is anything that John Kerry does not want following him through this election it's the idea that he had anything to do with Jane Fonda. Fact is, he did. Kerry and Fonda were fellow travelers on the anti-war circuit throughout the country. If you listen to the show you will know that I don't toss the word "treason" around lightly. Over the past few years I've had callers call various protestors to our actions in Iraq traitors, and in all cases I've made it clear that I disagree. People must be free to protest the actions of our government in this country without being branded traitors ... whether we agree with them or not. Jane Fonda? Now there was a traitor. She traveled to North Vietnam during a time of war. She posed on the very anti-aircraft batteries that the North Vietnamese used to shoot down American aircraft. She posed there wearing a helmet and flashing big smiles to the very people who had been trying to kill our American pilots. Former prisoners of war tell stories of being tortured if they refused to appear in photo ops with Fonda. It is my firm belief that Jane Fonda is directly responsible for the deaths of many American servicemen in Vietnam. She is directly responsible for wives having to go on without their husbands, and children growing up without their father. I can still hear Fonda saying "Socialism ... it's the only way." I guess that was before she earned millions with her workout videos. Jane Fonda was a friend of the enemy, and an enemy of the United States. She richly earned and deserves to this day the enmity of the people of the United States. And she was a woman with whom John Kerry had no problems appearing with in his anti-war cause. Jane Fonda should have been tried, prosecuted and convicted of treason. She should still be serving time in a federal prison today. She is despised by mainstream America. Deservedly so. So ... keep at it, Hanoi Jane. The heartland of this country knows who you are, and they know what you did. They know that there are American servicemen who never came home because of your actions. Give your cell phone number to CNN, Fox News, MSNBC, CNBC and the rest of the news outlets out there. Let them know that you're ready at any time to appear and stand up for John Kerry. Make yourself a leech on his backside. Let all of American know how proud you are of this man and what a great president he will be. Americans who truly love freedom, and recognize that the blood of true patriots will sometimes be shed in its defense, will thank you. John Kerry will not.
Wait, not so fast....this one is a fake! Here's the
original of John Kerry. Thanks astute listener Alan for giving us a heads up. Find a full-size version at corbis.com. It's image #DWF15-563704. There's more than enough ammunition out there to tie John Kerry to Jane Fonda and her anti-American followers without manufacturing nonsense like this. MAYBE WE DON'T REALIZE HOW REALLY GOOD GEORGE BUSH IS I'm linking you here to a wonderful column by Tony Blankley that appeared in yesterday's Washington Times. Some special placement here for the Blankley column, because I really want you to read it. Blankley is writing about an article that appeared in the New York Times owned Boston Globe about a new book "Surprise, Security, and the American Experience" by John Lewis Gaddis. Gaddis is a professor of military and naval history at Yale and described as "the dean of Cold War studies and one of the nation's most eminent diplomatic historians." Blankley warns that if you hate George Bush, you will hate this book. You will also hate Blankley's column. Gaddis says that Bush stands in a select category with presidents Franklin D. Roosevelt and James Monroe in implementing one of only three grand strategies of American foreign policy in our over two hundred year history. In this regard Gaddis, who has not always admired Bush, says that Bush, as president, underwent "one of the most surprising transformations of an underrated national leader since Prince Hal became Henry V." Here, according to Gaddis, is the gist of Bush's grand strategy .. the third such grand strategy in our history. Gaddis says that Bush "undertook a decisive and courageous reassessment of American grand strategy following the shock of the 9/11 attacks. At his doctrine's center, Bush placed the democratization of the Middle East and the urgent need to prevent terrorists and rogue states from getting nuclear weapons. Bush also boldly rejected the constraints of an outmoded international system that was really nothing more that a snapshot of the configuration of power that existed in 1945." Read Blankley's column ... then put it on the desk of one of your favorite lefties. KERRY WANTED THE UNITED NATIONS TO DIRECT AMERICAN TROOPS Yet another example of why John Kerry needs to be kept as far away as possible from the Oval Office. In today's installment, we look at an interview he gave to the Harvard Crimson in 1970 prior to his first run for Congress. This one's a doozy. In the interview, Kerry said "I'm an internationalist. I'd like to see our troops dispersed through the world only at the directive of the United Nations." Some people are dismissing the comments as appropriate for the time, but have Kerry's views really changed? Not at all. He is going around saying that "there was a right way and a wrong way" to go to war with Iraq, and the right way was only if it was approved by the United Nations. In other words, the United States only has the right to defend itself if we get permission from Kofi Annan. I think not. And then there was this: Kerry said he wanted "to almost eliminate CIA activity." I wonder how Kerry will respond to that. It was precisely his efforts in the Senate to scale back the intelligence budget that led to information-gathering shortfalls around the world. John Kerry's support for the U.S. military seems to have ended the day he was discharged. KERRY - CLINTON? IT MAKES PERFECT SENSE. Dick Morris is pushing the idea the John Kerry will make Hillary Clinton his vice presidential candidate. Some folks poo poo the idea ... but give it some thought! It makes perfect sense! There is really no good reason for Hillary not to run! OK ... let's try to approach this in a logical manner. We'll consider the options. Hillary doesn't run ... and Kerry looses.
Hillary runs ... and Kerry looses.
Hillary runs ... and Kerry wins.
Hillary doesn't run, and Kerry Wins.
Hillary doesn't run, and Kerry Loses
Now ... let's also consider poor John Kerry in all of this. So .... From John Kerry's standpoint: Kerry choses Hillary ... she runs .... and he wins.
AKRON! HOW THE HELL DID YOU ELECT THIS GUY? If you didn't see this last night on Brit Hume's newscast you will at least hear it to today on the Boortz show. Secretary of State Colin Powell was appearing before a House committee dealing with intelligence matters. Democrat Sherrod Brown of Ohio was eagerly awaiting his turn. When that turn came Brown put on a little show that must have been embarrassing for him and for everyone in his 13th District in Ohio. In short, Brown wanted to know how Powell could rely on information from George Bush when Bush "may have been AWOL" from the National Guard. Powell responded: "I won't dignify your comments about the president, because you don't know what you're talking about." Not having had enough, the congressman said "I'm sorry. I don't know what you mean, Mr. Secretary." Powell shot back "you made reference to the president," to which Brown responded again that Bush may have been AWOL. "Mr. Brown, let's not go there," Powell said. "Let's just not go there. Let's not go there in this hearing. You want to have a political fight on this matter that's very controversial, and I think is being dealt with by the White House, fine. But let's not go there." At one point, Powell angrily asked one of Brown's aides "Are you shaking your head for something, young man?" Eventually, the Congressman wised up to the situation and shut his pie hole. The purpose of this hearing was to gather information on intelligence failures, not to investigate Bush's service in the National Guard. This void surrounded by a sphincter muscle who somehow managed to get himself sent to the congress by unionists in Northeastern Ohio decided that he would seek his moment of fame by taking on someone with the stature of Colin Powell. Big mistake. Colin Powell 1, Democrats 0 ALLOW ME TO BANG MY OWN DRUM FOR A MINUTE Hey, my eyesight is already bad enough, but since I have literally hundreds of thousands of people across the country reading this web page every day --- including radio professionals -- I might as well take advantage of a marketing opportunity. Below is a chart showing the growth of listenership from the end of 2002 to the end of 2003. These numbers represent a lot of happy program directors who took a chance and saw it pay off. Thank you, dear listeners, for the support. Now get out there and spread the word! Boortz Ratings Fall 02-Fall 03The first percentage figure represents the growth in the share of audience for men between 25 and 54 years of age. The second column is the audience growth in men 35 to 54 years of age.
The average share increase for men 25-54 for these stations was 80%. For men 35-54 it was 152%. Thank you so much for your loyal listening habits. READING ASSIGNMENTS Sorry .. should have put this in front of you yesterday. We've found a smoking gun in Iraq ... and the mainstream media is ignoring it. Surprised? You shouldn't be. Peggy Noonan responds to critics of her criticism of Bush's appearance on Meet the Press ... and suggests a way that Bush's supporters can help the case for re-election. Head for the Internet! Ann Coulter weighs in on the controversy over President Bush's National Guard service. She wants to know why the party of Bill Clinton, Teddy Kennedy and Robert Byrd is suddenly so obsessed with honor. Good stuff. George Will talks about jobs that are leaving the country because of protectionist import quotas. Tariffs destroy jobs, and this explains it well. Linda Chavez says that the AWOL accusations against George Bush are completely off-target and explains why. Emmett Tyrell describes a dynamic new constituency in the Democratic primary process: the moron vote. Revenge of the bible-thumpers: a Texas mom is facing trial for selling sex toys. Are things really that slow in Dallas? A British newspaper is reporting that Osama Bin Laden has a "terrorist Navy" of 15 ships he intends to use to attack targets. And everybody's all worked up about gay marriage? Priorities, people. A Bush administration economic adviser is in hot water for saying outsourcing jobs to places like India is actually good for America. It's just like importing something cheaper and saving money. The days of the tax-free internet appear to be numbered. The states cannot stand the fact that commerce is taking place with them getting their cut. Too bad. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
