| Wednesday, July 21, 2004 GUEST COLIN POWELL Today at 9am Eastern Colin Powell will be a guest on the Neal Boortz Show. If you miss it, we'll include a link to the audio in this week's newsletter. If you don't get the Boortz Blast, subscribe here. During Sad Max Cleland's Monday telephone conference call diatribe with the press he cited four lies allegedly uttered by President Bush. Cleland said that Bush lied about:
Sorry, Max. Every single one of the statements that Bush made on these matters has been vindicated and substantiated. If you're going to be Kerry's yapping lap dog you're going to have to do much better than this. Many of you have become quite upset with me for my statements that I believe The Poodle will win the presidential election in November. Look ... I'm not saying that I want him to win. I'm just saying that I think he will win! Will it be a disaster for the America of our founding fathers? Absolutely! Will it be a bonanza for those who seek more government and a weaker America on the international scene? You bet! Right at the end of the show yesterday I went on somewhat of a rant in response to a caller's comments. I said that at least 30% .. and quite probably over 40% of the voters who go to the polls in November will cast their ballots with one thought in mind. They will look at the names on the ballot and cast their vote for the candidate whom they believe will do the most to take money away from other people and either spend it on them or find a way to put it in their pocket. The name that fits that bill is John Kerry. Listen to Kerry on the campaign trail. Audit his website. If he enacts every government spending program he has promised the voters the tab will more than double the federal budget. It's all about buying the votes ... and the votes are surely there to be bought. Tell me, when was the last time you met someone who felt that his life was his responsibility, not the government's? Bring me the man or woman who feels that the only role of government is to stand firm against those who would interfere with their pursuit of happiness ... but not to fund that dream with money taken from others. Consider, please, the fact that for the fourth consecutive month the Kerry campaign has raised more money in its various fundraising efforts than has George Bush. The Kerry figure for June was three times more than the amount raised by George Bush. That should tell you something, my friends, and that something is that the Democrats have the money they need to take back the White House. I'm just the messenger. Spare me.
The Islamic world .. and this includes those who don't exactly wish us well .. is celebrating today. Radical Islamic causes have now achieved a meaningful election victory in the United States. It looks almost certain that Cynthia McKinney will be returning to the United States Congress representing Georgia's 4th District. Yesterday McKinney took more than 50% of the votes in a Democratic primary election. Her Republican challenger in the November election stands little chance of an upset. You do remember Cynthia, don't you? She is the one who said that Bush knew about 9/11 before it happened. When a Saudi prince's offer of $10 million for the victims of 9/11 was turned down because of the Saudi's anti-American remarks, it was Cynthia who said "Hey, give the money to me!" It was Cynthia McKinney who, during her previous stint in Congress, spent far more time representing the interests of various African despots before the federal government than she did her own constituents. Cynthia's last campaign received most of its funding from Arab and Islamic interests. Last night one of the first messages of congratulations came from Abed Hammoud of the Arab-American Political Action Committee. The Islamic Jihadists are about to celebrate the return of their friend. In the New York Post Erick Stakelbeck wrote "McKinney has long associated with militant Islamic groups whose members have openly supported terrorism." Daniel Pipes, the director of the Middle East Forum, took a brief look at McKinney's campaign finance disclosures .. here's a partial list of Cynthia's campaign contributors:
Cynthia McKinney is a functionally incompetent far-left nutcase ... and come next January she'll be back in Washington. Now Corinne Brown, Sheila Jackson-Lee and Maxine Waters will have some good company. Residents of Georgia's 4th Congressional District have every cause to be both ashamed and embarrassed. Yesterday I was ready to give Sandy Berger the benefit of the doubt over this controversy about purloined secret documents. Today I'm not feeling quite so generous. Accidentally walking out of a National Archives reading room with a document in your coat or pants pocket it one thing. Stuffing those documents into your pants legs and socks is quite another. Statements from some employees of the National Archives lead to the conclusion that the misappropriation of those documents was an intentional act, not accidental. Now some of those documents will never be recovered. So, the smell of fish becomes stronger. Everybody from Lanny Davis to Joe Lockhart to Bill Clinton himself have come to Berger's defense. The former president laughed it off, saying anyone who has seen Berger's desk knows he is a messy guy. You do know that Berger was working for the Kerry campaign, don't you? Was he trying to gather research for Kerry? Was he trying to hide some information from the past? He says he inadvertently left with some documents. What was contained in those documents? One thing's for sure...not only were they classified documents....they were very top-secret documents. And what do the Democrats have to say? Well, they're very suspicious about the timing of these reports. They weren't at all suspicious about the timing of the news stories about George Bush's service in the Texas Air National Guard ... but this Berger thing is quite different. Remember .. these documents were related to the Clinton administration's treatment of concerns over Al Qaeda as we approached what many people mistakenly believed to be the turn of the century in late 1999. When will some newspaper ask the editorial question "What did John Kerry know, and when did he know it?" Hint: Don't hold your breath.
READING ASSIGNMENTS American union members are forced
to pay to promote political ideas and candidates that they do not
necessarily support. Democrats are fine with this. In fact, they
love it! Hollywood
Republicans? Yup. They do exist! While we're traveling back in time, what did boortz.com look like in 1997? The strangest items show up for sale on ebay. | ||
