DEMOCRATS DECLARE VICTORY?

The only problem here is that the Democrats declared victory for the other side.  Democrats, like Representative John Murtha of Pennsylvania, are saying that the war in Iraq is "unwinnable."

Let's imagine that you are Muqtada al-Sadr, the Islamic fanatic who has led much of the recent insurgency against American troops.  You read that powerful politicians in America are now saying that America just can't win the war the way things are going.  Well, since you're a big part of the way things are going, how can you feel anything but smug, satisfied and encouraged?

We'll have much to say about this on the air today ... but one question for now.  How do you think things would stand today in Iraq if, instead of constantly trying to undermine our efforts in Iraq, Democrats had actually been supportive? What if Democrats had made it clear that they had domestic policy differences with Bush, but were fully united behind him in his efforts to remove Saddam and help Iraq create a new government based on freedom and tolerance?  After all .. the official policy of regime change in Iraq was developed when Democrats held the Senate and the White House.  What would have been the big problem with continuing with that policy with a Republican in charge?

Question:  If you say that your side can't win, are you giving aid and comfort to the other side?

AND IT'S CONSERVATIVES WHO ARE SUPPOSED TO BE FULL OF HATE

I showed you this cartoon earlier this week.  It's time to bring it to your attention again.  It was drawn by Ted Rall, a far-left cartoonist and columnist ... and Kerry supporter.  Note in this cartoon that Rall calls the U.S. Army "low rent" and refers to Pat Tillman, the man who's love for this country was so intense that he gave up a multi-million dollar career in the National Football League to enlist in the Army after 9/11, as an "idiot" and a "sap."

Well ... take a look at the cartoon.  Take a look at the way Rall draws members of our military.  Then read about Rall's latest slanders against our military.

Now that you've taken another look at Rall's cartoon, I want you to read a column that showed up on Rall's website just yesterday.   Rall's column is entitled "An Army of Scum."  He says that the U.S. Army is  virtually indistinguishable from the Nazi SS.  In fact, Rall says that the Army needs only one thing to bring it up to moral parity with the Nazis ... and that one thing would be gas chambers. But wait!  Rall isn't through.  He also calls our soldiers the "American SS" and "inbred psychos."

While you're considering the words of Ted Rall ... remember that it's the right that is supposed to be evil, wicked, mean, nasty and full of hate.

And who is Rall supporting for the presidency?  Why, John Kerry, of course, who made comments about his fellow soldiers in Vietnam that were almost as bad.

INTEMPERATE THOUGHTS

Have the actions of these few military police guards in that Abu Ghraib prison in Iraq made the situation any more dangerous for our troops in Iraq?  Certainly.  Will some young Americans die in Iraq because of the actions of these few goons?  Probably.  But, let's also consider how many young Americans will die in Iraq because of the encouragement Iraqi insurgents have received from the words of Ted Kennedy and his leftist ilk.

Just keep this in mind during this election year.  Kerry, Pelosi, Kennedy, Daschle and the rest of the Democratic cabal are far more interested in winning the White House than they are winning the hearts and minds of Iraqis.

Uh oh.  More problems for Air America -- liberal talk radio.  First they couldn't pay their radio stations (we don't pay our radio stations).  Now they can't even pay their talk show hosts.  Drudge also says that they have writers.  Writers?  I don't have writers.  What's up with writers?

The Islamic world is doing a spectacular job of expressing outrage over the humiliation of some Iraqi prisoners.  Now let's see if they can bring it upon themselves to crank up some of that outrage over the atrocities committed by Islamic terrorists.

One of the Iraqi prisoners who was abused by U.S. reservists says he is so humiliated he can't return to his hometown.  So, he wants to come live in the United States.  Think about this for a minute.  This Iraqi is abused by Americans.  As a result of that abuse he wants to go live in America.  Damn ... we are one evil, horrible country, aren't we?

The U.S. Navy Blue Angels are performing at the Naval Air Station in Atlanta this weekend.  Most area residents will beam with pride at the sight of these magnificent F-18s and their incredible Navy pilots.  You can be sure, though, that there will be some locals who will actually step forward and complain about the jet noise.  So .. just stick some wax in your ears and shut up.

Neal's Mooney dreams of what might have been.

Another radio talk show experiment ends today.  It was about two years, and with no small amount of fanfare, that ABC announced that Sam Donaldson would jump into the talk radio arena with his own syndicated show.  Another great television hero was going to wade into talk radio and show the rest of us how it's done.  Well .... his last show is today.  If any of you Donaldson stations want it done right .. give me a call.

Please, please, please .... don't fall for those TV ads telling you how rich you can be with your own point-of-sale credit card terminals and Internet kiosks scattered around various businesses in your city.  This is a sure way for you to lose your life savings.

LIBERALS CALLING FOR RUMSFELD'S HEAD

Democrats are calling for Rumsfeld's resignation.  Kerry, of course, and super-leftist Nancy Pelosi.  Hyper-partisan Charles Rangel is even calling for an impeachment.  So, here's your question:

If you answered (a) you are beyond all hope of help of any kind.

This started off with The Poodle demanding Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld's resignation over the Iraqi prison photos, and now it has spread to other Democrats.   This is not about addressing the abuse of Iraqi prisoners, this is about crippling George Bush and doing  everything possible to advance his misfortune.

The rhetoric here is out of control.  I saw Ann Applebaum, a member of the Washington Post editorial board, say this morning that Donald Rumsfeld had made a decision to ignore the rules of the Geneva Convention and had also made a decision to "create a lawless prison system."  Remember ... Applebaum will be voting for Kerry in November.

Rumsfeld goes before the Senate Armed Services Committee today, and you can expect fireworks. Democratic Senators John Corzine, Joe Biden and Tom Harkin are also on the list of Democrats saying Rumsfeld should be fired.  What for?  Was Donald Rumsfeld the one taking the Iraqi abuse pictures?  Did he not take appropriate action once it was discovered?  What possible reason would there be for him to quit?  None...zippo.  It's as preposterous to suggest that he resign as it would be to suggest any other member of the cabinet do so.  It's apparently the new mantra of the left....when they don't like a Republican official in government....they demand his or her resignation!  After all, somebody must be to blame!  It can't just be a few bad apples in the ranks.

Let me tell you what this is not about.  It is not about winning the war in Iraq.  It is not about bringing terrorists to justice.  It is not about protecting America from Islamic terrorism.  It's all about defaming and damaging the credibility of George Bush and putting the Democrats back into the White House.

Bush has said he supports Rumsfeld, and he will remain in the cabinet.  The Democrats are going to come unglued today.  Get ready. What fun.

MICHAEL MOORE ADMITS DISNEY 'BAN' A STUNT

Filmmaker and waste of oxygen Michael Moore has admitted that he lied about Disney recently refusing to distribute his film.  Anyone surprised?  I didn't think so. Turns out there was no recent decision on the part of Disney to not put out his partisan, Bush-bashing picture....he was told over a year ago it wasn't going to happen.  So much for the cries of censorship.  Think the media will retract their stories?  Of course not.

Moore admitted during an interview with CNN that he knew a long time ago Disney wasn't going to release it.  This after he wrote a letter to his supporters saying he only found out Monday.  So, he lied.  Nothing new here...Michael Moore has been lying for years.  Will the mainstream media call him on it?

Disney should sue him after that little publicity stunt.  Why does anyone take this guy seriously?

LIB RADIO GOES BUST

More trouble at Air America, the liberal talk radio network featuring Al Franken and company.  If you remember, they were in the news a few weeks ago after getting the boot from Chicago and Los Angeles for bouncing a check to the station owner.  You see, their shows are not syndicated willingly, they have to buy the time on the air.  In effect, Air America isn't talk radio .. it's a liberal infomercial.  You pay for your time, hire your actors, hire your writers, and then start presenting your product to a small audience filled with fake enthusiasm.

Now in their fifth week, their co-founder and chairman resigned yesterday.  Also jumping ship was the vice-chairman, who was also an investor.  And just what is our  biggest indicator that the whole thing is going down the drain?  The company failed to make its scheduled payroll.  Nobody works for free.  Maybe Air America will seek a government bail-out.  That would be the liberal thing to do.

I told you it probably wouldn't last.. but I have to admit that I just didn't expect it to unravel so soon.  Radio shows and a radio network are not successful unless radio stations pick up those shows and attract an audience.  They were doomed from the start because of their practice of buying time on stations, rather than earning spots on stations through proven entertainment value and ratings success.  It was never going to work.

It's not that I'm always right, it's just that I'm seldom wrong.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Here's one area where The Poodle most certainly loses in November ... likeability.  Let's hope it's enough.

The target today isn't Rumsfeld ... it's Bush.

The FDA is going to say no to the morning-after pills without a prescription.  This is the FDA bowing to the demands of the anti-choice lobby, not to medical science.  Bush just lost some female votes.

Uh oh.  There seems to be new evidence out there of a connection with Saddam Hussein and the 9/11 hijackers.  It doesn't matter though.  Democrats will continue to deny such a link exists .. no matter how much proof is discovered.

There's a new book out there.  "Ron Brown's Body."  It's touted as the story of how one man's death saved the Clinton presidency.  Hmmmmm.

Tub-o-lard Michael Moore is now admitting that his accusations that Disney suddenly dumped his latest screed was nothing but a publicity stunt.

The Poodle has invited Al Sharpton to speak at the Democratic National Convention this summer.  Your Talkmaster explains why Kerry is slimeing the podium.

The war on terror is about a lot of things, but as Charles Krauthammer explains, it's also about sex.

The pictures from the prison in Iraq indicate there is a situation that needs to be addressed, but David Limbaugh says we need to keep the enemy in perspective.

Think if Israels gives up land to the Palestinians that it will end terrorism?  Think again, says Jeff Jacoby.

The media sure was quick to show the photos of Iraqi prisoner abuse,  yet not so much so when Americans were mutilated and killed in Fallujah.  Jonah Goldberg fills us in.

Now that it has been over a year, Paul Greenberg looks at the mistakes made in Iraq through the rearview mirror.

Make no mistake, according to Mona Charen, the Iraqi abuse photos are a complete and total disaster.

Michael Moore is a smear specialist that mangles the facts, and the Disney story is just another example.  Brent Bozell reports.

Democrats and the media have been working non-stop to politicize the war in Iraq, all the while those in uniform are trying to win that war.  More from Oliver North.

Things aren't looking too good for The Poodle these days...even Democrats are abandoning him.  Nick Gillespie explains.

The Poodle's wife says she is going to be releasing her tax records.  This should be interesting.
