Tuesday, November 2, 2004 -- ELECTION DAY

CLASH OF VALUES

Even if George Bush does win reelection today it won't mean that our Republic is in a true jam.  There is no way this election should be this close, but it is.  The very fact that someone with no record to run on and no plan for the future, except to grow the size of government, should be polling over 40% of the vote.

Face the music my friends.   America has almost reached a critical mass of "citizens" who believe that it is the role of government to smooth every bump on the road and to solve every personal problem.  These people believe that it is the government's responsibility, not their own, to get them a job.  It's the government's job to monitor and take care of their health.  It's the government's job to provide for their retirement, take care of their children, find them a place to live, and feed them.

I guess you can say that the dependency class came by it honestly.  What do you expect of people who are educated by the government?  Doesn't it make perfect sense that people who are educated by the government would come away with that experience believing that government is the solution to all their problems?

Know this:   The people who inhabit this country today could never pull off what our forefathers did in discovering and settling this country and in fighting for its independence.  Independence is the last thing the average American wants today.

VOTER FRAUD

Democrats will be ready to fight today ... ready to fight for --- for, not against voter fraud.  The Democratic Party position on who should vote today is very simple.  If you show up at a voting site today you should be allowed to vote, and your vote should count.  Period.  No questions asked.  It doesn't matter whether you've voted elsewhere already.  It doesn't matter if you plan to go to another dozen precincts before the day is out and vote again.  It doesn't matter whether you're registered or not.  If doesn't matter if you are or are not the person you told the poll worker you are.  None of that matters.  All that does matter is that you are there and you want to vote.  Democrats will tell you that any .. .and that means any attempt to make sure the voter is actually registered to vote in that precinct and is actually who they say they are will be called "voter intimidation."

To give you an idea of how Democrats view voting, just remember that it is Democrats who are pushing the idea that non-citizens should be allowed to vote in local elections, and that includes aliens who are here illegally.

We all know that Ohio is a crucial state today.  In Ohio 35,000 letters sent to newly-registered voters were returned as undeliverable.  The addresses didn't exist, the voter didn't exist, or the newly-registered voter was long dead.  This has been going on across the country.  Almost every single story we've heard about fraud in registering new voters has been about Democratic efforts.

COURT ALLOWS OHIO POLL CHALLENGES

A bit of news overnight from the battleground state of Ohio (20 electoral votes.)  A federal appeals court has cleared the way for challengers to be at polling places in Ohio.  So what exactly does this mean?

Bad news for the Democrats, that's what.  In Ohio, like nearly everywhere else, poll workers don't check ID, allowing all kinds of voter fraud to take place.  Think about it....all you would have to do is get the list of registered voters from your local board of elections, then go from precinct to precinct pretending to be someone you're not and voting multiple times.  So now, there can be challenges at the polls.

The Poodle and the DNC are running ads calling this 'voter intimidation,' but what it really means is that one of the left's tried and true methods of winning elections has been restricted- voter fraud.  So now a challenger who suspects fraud can ask questions, with a poll worker having the final decision as to whether or not the person gets to vote.

Perhaps this will matter, perhaps not.  Should make for an interesting day at the polls.

ADMITTING MY ERRORS

Only too happy to do so when I screw up.  How else are you going to trust what you hear on the show?  So ... yesterday on the show I said that the circulation figures for the Atlanta Journal-Constitution were down.  I was wrong.  In the last six months the circulation figures for this newspaper were actually up, not down.  Up by 3.8 percent.  My bad.  That's OK though.  The figures show that more people in Atlanta listen to The Neal Boortz Show than buy the AJC.  That's good.  Oh .. .and I also said that the AJC was a left wing rag.  No correction needed there.

THE GHOST OF NEVILLE CHAMBERLAIN

The Poodle made a statement yesterday that proves once again that he views the United States through the prism of our standing with the Axis of Weasels.  Here is what he said:

"This is the moment of accountability for America.  All of the hopes and dreams of our country are on the line today. The choice is clear."

The moment of accountability?  Accountability to whom?  The rest of the world?  The United Nations?  Old Europe?  John Kerry believes that America should be accountable to someone or something ...  wouldn't it be a good idea for him to tell us who or what?  Kerry believes that our standing with the socialist terrorist appeasers abroad is not only important, but it is an approval we must seek and maintain.  On the other hand, George Bush believes all terrorists should be killed, public opinion be damned.  Who do you want protecting your children?

The line about all of our hopes and dreams being on the line shows you just how dishonest the left has become.  The fact of the matter is that a person's life is not going to change that much depending on who wins.  The occupant of the Oval Office is not going to give you a job.  Your hopes and dreams are up to you, and no one else.  You are where you are as a sum total of the decisions you have made in life.

The safety and security of the United States is what a president is really responsible for, and The Poodle couldn't be a worse candidate.

MORE FROM OSAMA BIN LADEN

Al-Jazeera released the full transcript from Osama's public endorsement of John Kerry.  For the most part, the Al-Qaeda leader stuck to the Democratic talking points.  I am sure the DNC won't be too upset if he strayed a little too far from the script.

"We are continuing this policy in bleeding America to the point of bankruptcy. Allah willing, and nothing is too great for Allah," said Bin Laden.  He then went on to make a point that every American needs to understand:

"All that we have to do is to send two mujahedeen to the furthest point east to raise a piece of cloth on which is written al Qaeda, in order to make generals race there to cause America to suffer human, economic and political losses without their achieving anything of note other than some benefits for their private corporations."  In other words, he's taunting us....saying essentially that all it takes is a couple Islamic terrorists to blow something up in order for the United States to respond.

Here you have Osama Bin Laden, responsible for the deaths of thousands of Americans, saying the same things the Democrats have been saying for months.  It is beyond comprehension why anyone would consider voting for John Kerry.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

This Wall Street Journal editorial says that America isn't as divided as the "elites"  seem to think.   I'm not sure I agree.

John Fund has your hour-by-hour guide to observing the election today

Today the Atlanta Journal-Constitution is reporting that the city of Atlanta is starting to shut off the water to people who don't pay their bills.  OK .... Let's start the countdown.  How many days before we see a story about some civil rights pimp charging racism.

All the latest polls still show Bush leading, with the margin varying.

Britain's International bookmakers favor Bush over Kerry.  Maybe they know something we don't.

The Democrats have their panties in a knot because Neil Cavuto suggested Osama Bin Laden was wearing a Kerry/Edwards campaign button in his video.  The truth hurts, doesn't it?

Lost in the presidential shuffle is the South Dakota Senate race.  Tom Daschle could lose.  Might we be that lucky?  Who knows, it's too close to call.  Naturally, Daschle is suing his opponent.

Dick Morris still says Bush is going to win,
in fact he thinks the Osama tape seals the election for the president.

The election monitors are here from Europe....and they're already complaining.  What about?  Their host's insistence on going to only pro-Kerry events.

The media has always been biased, but this year, they've done little to hide it.  David Limbaugh says they have purposefully kept everyone in the dark about who the real John Kerry is.

There is an e-mail going around the Internet called "Things you have to believe to vote Republican today."  Dennis Prager offers an analysis.

The Kerry campaign keeps saying that George Bush almost captured Osama Bin Laden in Tora Bora, and Larry Kudlow says the Bush campaign's response hasn't come fast enough.  By the way, it was Bill Clinton who turned down Bin Laden on a silver platter.

Robert Novak takes a look at The Poodle's last week of campaign, and goes over the Democrats' strategy.  Novak still thinks Bush will win.

Usually when men serve in combat together, they form a bond that lasts a lifetime.  Thomas Sowell says that makes it all the more curious that so many of Kerry's former comrades publicly oppose him.
