In spite of the best efforts of Osama bin Laden and the Islamic insurgents in Iraq, their worst enemy in the world, George Bush, is going to be the Commander in Chief of the U.S. armed forces for four more years. They know that George Bush has the determination and the resolve to seek them out and to kill them. They also knew that John Kerry didn't. My guess ... maybe more of a hopeful wish than a guess ... is that some of these Islamic radicals may come to see this as a matter of their survival. They are not now going to stampede the American people into mirror the actions of the people of Spain. If they fight, they will die. Surely they must see a better choice. And what about the Mad Mullahs of Iran? Bush doesn't have to worry about reelection any longer. He can proceed to do what he has shown he is determined to do ... and that is to protect our country. Let's paint a bulls eye on Iran's nuclear facilities. Oh ... and perhaps it's time for Bashar al-Asad to cough up those weapons that Saddam hid in Syria.
Just a few ...
Remember ... 58% of Europeans said in a recent poll that they wanted to see the role of the United States weakened in world affairs. Well, they didn't exactly get their way, did they? One London newspaper asked the question today "How can 58 million people be so dumb?" These comments come from a region of the world where they are working at break-neck speed to create a multi-national constitution that will restrict or violate almost every right that Americans hold dear. We would do well to watch this process of creating a constitution for the European Union. We can shake our heads over their rush to disaster while, hopefully, learning some lessons. Take any Wall Mart parking lot in the middle of winter in Minnesota. Get a hose and spray the parking lot down with a layer of ice. Cover that with a bit of snow. Take a picture. Compare that picture to a picture of the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge. Except for the light poles, you couldn't tell the difference. The enviro-wierdos have you thinking that ANWR is a place of beauty. Majestic mountains, green meadows, rushing streams and herds of grazing Elk. Not so. Maybe now President Bush can take a step toward more energy independence and get those drilling rigs headed north.
This is the second presidential election where exit polls were shown to be wrong. Not just wrong, but pathetically wrong. The same thing happened in 2000 and in 2002. These exit polls are generated by the news media simply to give them something to report while they're waiting for some actual numbers after the polls close. They don't work. They're wrong. Time for another tactic.
The Libertarian Party. Throughout the election the media fed us information about Ralph Nader. Ralph this. Ralph that. You hardly knew that the Libertarians were in the race. The results now show that the Michael Badnarik, the Libertarian candidate, received more votes than Nader. I wonder how the Libertarians would have done if their candidate was willing to protect America from Islamic terrorists?
I'm sure that the editors at The Atlanta Journal-Constitution are thrilled that the election is over. Now they can get back to more important issues, such as counting blacks in NASCAR. A county school system in Georgia is considering requiring high school students to actually pass English and math or risk being held back. Imagine that!! Requiring students to learn basic high school math and English. That's, you know, like, stupid. You know what I'm sayin'? And we wonder why Georgia ranks last in education. After weeks at trial Scott Peterson's defense attorney tries to convince the jury that some homeless person abducted Laci, murdered her, and then dumped her body miles away at the very same place where Scott was fishing? How in the world does a homeless person carry a body miles and miles without an automobile? Will the Democratic Party finally figure out it's time to dump Ted Kennedy as it's icon? Someone needs to give him a figurative ride over a bridge.
READING ASSIGNMENTS Peggy Noonan is back at it again. She says that this is a big win for America. Not only that, but it's a big loss for the mainstream media. You folks did notice that Katie Couric was wearing black yesterday, didn't you? The Wall Street Journal has some good ideas for a second Bush term. At the top of the list is a good man named Miguel Estrada George Will says that if John Kerry wants to find a reason for his defeat, perhaps he should look at his liberalism. Oh, and then there's the fact that Kerry ran on a record based on four months that happened 35 years ago. Robert Novak is calling this election a "Democratic Disaster.' Isn't that a bit redundant? While Robert Novak is calling the election a Democratic Disaster, Thomas Sowell is calling it a "narrow escape." And Michelle Malkin writes about Democratic voter delusions. The folks at The New York Times wasted no time at all. Here's today's surprise article touting The Hildabeast as the candidate to beat for the 2008 Democratic nomination. George Bush won the election and Kerry finally conceded. Larry Elder wonders what too him so long. You dems thinking of escaping to another country might want to think again. It's not as easy as you might think. | ||
