KOFI'S DISAPPOINTMENT

UN Secretary General Kofi Annan has now publicly expressed his disappointment in his son for accepting bribes from a company connected to the Oil-For-Food scam. Those darn kids, you know.....they never seem to learn.

So we're supposed to believe that Kofi didn't know Kojo was getting the kickbacks? Four years this has been going on, and Kofi was in the dark?  Yeah .... riiiight. Dry that one, crunch it up and you could fertilize the lawn. This is one big scandal that is going to go straight to the top of the U.N. Kofi Annan is going to wind up resigning over this one.

Despite the media cover-up over this, we will finally learn the truth next year of where the $64 billion in "oil-for-food" went. A preliminary report is due in January from former Federal Reserve Chairman Paul Volcker. There are no less than six investigations underway into the program.

Asked if Kofi should quit, the US Ambassador the UN John Danforth said "I don't think that the United States government rushes to judgment until all the facts are in." Did I somehow miss the fact that Danforth was on the OJ jury in California?  In this case, the facts are in.  The glove fits.  The United Nations is finally being exposed as the corrupt organization that it always has been.

INTEMPERATE AND POLITICALLY INCORRECT (I HOPE) THOUGHTS

The cause of medical marijuana would be helped a lot if so many of the people who were using medical marijuana didn't look like drug-crazed zombies.

My mornings would be so much better if I didn't have to listen to screaming car commercials.  Remember, the louder the commercial, the more stupid they think their customers are.  Did you ever hear anyone screaming at you to visit your local Mercedes dealership?

If you don't believe in evolution, can you explain to me why researchers have to come up with a new flu vaccine every year in order to handle each year's version of the flu bug?  While you're at it you can explain how various bugs manage to evolve to the point where they are impervious to current antibiotics.

A grill cheese sandwich that has the face of the Virgin Mary?  I have a piece of cantaloupe here that looks like Sponge Bob Square Pants.  Any bids? Just in: fish stick with the face of Jesus.

A poll shows that most Americans want a mandatory retirement age for Supreme Court Justices.  So what!  Most Americans think that the United States is supposed to be a democracy.  Fact is that the "most Americans" they're talking about are almost completely ignorant about the basics of American government and should be kept away from the polls with pit bulls.

Taliban Islamic goons killed some aid workers for a relief organization Sunday.  Islamic terrorists are lower than pig squeeze.  When is the world going to realize that civilization is at war against these thugs.

They've studied those Florida counties who voted for Bush in spite of the fact that the majority of their voters are registered Democrats.  Seems that these counties always vote for Republican presidential candidates.  Drat!  Another blow to the conspiracy numbnuts.

They've identified the soldier who fathered Lindie England's child.  I know ... any port in a storm .... but there are some things that are just too embarrassing to overcome.

WHAT DOES HE MEAN BY "TREAT MUSLIMS WITH RESPECT?"

Osama bin Laden's second goon-in-charge is seen on a recent video tape telling the world in general and Americans in particular that they will be OK if they will just treat Muslims with respect.  Well, that certainly sounds easy enough, doesn't it?  Just treat Muslims with respect and everything is hunky dory.

Definitions.  We need definitions.  I keep remembering the old Soviet Union and their protestations that they were soooo interested in world peace.  Their definition of "peace" left much to be desired.  To the communists, the definition of "peace" was "the absence of opposition to the world communist movement."  That brings us to just what bin Laden's pig-washer means by "respect."  My guess is to treat Muslims with "respect" means to avoid any opposition to the Muslim radical's goal making Islam the world's dominant religious and cultural movement.

These Muslims need to learn that respect is earned.

MORE ON THE ATLANTA AIRPORT POLICE BRUTALITY MATTER

If you're a Nuze reader you already know the background of this story.  Atlanta police officer Terrance Alexander ordered Diana Dietrich-Barnes to move her car as she was waiting for her mom at the airport.  She had to back up because there was a car in front of her.  When she backed up her side-view mirror struck the cop in the arm ... or so he says.  He then decided that Dietrich-Barnes was trying to run over him and ordered her out of the car.  The incident ended up with Alexander body-slamming Dietrich-Barnes into the pavement and placing her under arrest.  When his police department superiors refused to press charges against Diana Dietrich-Barnes after she was arrested by Terrance Alexander, Alexander decided to press his own charges ... three felony charges ... against her. Yesterday a Clayton County magistrate said that he will not issue any warrants against Dietrich-Barnes.

Terrance Alexander, who, by the way, has faced no less than 11 disciplinary actions in the past few years, most of them for his treatment of civilians, showed up in court yesterday with his arm in a sling.   Here's an idea.  Obviously Alexander had his arm in a sling in order to convince the court that he was injured.  In that respect that sling was actually evidence that Alexander was trying to "introduce," if you will, in the case.  Maybe the court could order an MRI for Alexander to see if there are, in fact, any soft issue injuries as his lawyer claims.  If the MRI shows no such injuries Alexander could be charged with a conspiracy to obstruct justice.

Meanwhile ... nothing from Atlanta Police Chief Richard Pennington.  He has yet to step forward to make a statement about Terrance Alexander and the wave of complaints about Atlanta cops at Hartsfield.  There have been over 160 arrests  lately ... some for offenses as idiotic as "snatching a ticket from an officer's hand."  I wonder if those officers have to put their arm in a sling too?

RED CROSS CLAIMS TORTURE AT GITMO

The International Red Cross is whining again about tactics used by the U.S. government at the Islamic Terrorist Detention Center down at Gitmo. By the way, the International Red Cross has nothing to do with the American Red Cross, so don't let this affect your contributions here at home. So what is the IRC complaining about?

They say the Military is using psychological and physical coercion that is "tantamount to torture." I guess that means we're not allowed to make Islamic terrorists a little uncomfortable. The complaints include: loud and persistent noise and music, prolonged cold, and "some beatings." Beatings?  Just what constitutes a "beating" to the IRC appeasers?  All together now....awwwwww poor babies.

The brutal truth is that if I, or, I suspect, if you had in your presence an Islamic terrorist that you knew had information on when and where the next terrorist attack on the United States would be, there is little you wouldn't do to get that information out of him.  Maybe we need a sign at Guantanamo:  "The beatings will stop when morale improves."

We are at war with the most vicious enemy this country has ever known. Islamic terrorists have vowed to ensure our personal destruction so that they may enslave the world with their hateful ideology.

If we want to win World War IV, we're going to have to do whatever it takes. Making some enemy combatants a little uncomfortable with hip hop music and an occasional spanking certainly qualifies.

BLOODY MILESTONE IN IRAQ?

The media is blaring the stories that 133 troops have died in Iraq this month, the deadliest month since April of '03, when 135 troops lost their lives. So what's missing in this media coverage? One word: perspective. Consider the facts:

American military deaths in previous wars:

* World War II - 408,306
* Korean War - 54,246
* Vietnam War - 58,219
* Operation Iraqi Freedom - 1,251 as of yesterday

Bloody milestone? Hardly. Remember ... the same media voices who are screaming "milestone!" are the ones who, prior to our military action in Iraq, were saying that American casualties would exceed 10,000 within months after the beginning of the war.  Every loss of life is regrettable.  But the words of Winston Churchill in a speech before the British Parliament in 1939 ring true today:

"If you will not fight for right when you can easily win without bloodshed; if you will not fight when your victory will be sure and not too costly; you may come to the moment when you will have to fight with all odds against you and only a precarious chance of survival. There may be even a worse fate. You may have to fight when there is no hope of victory, because it is better to perish then to live as slaves."

There, my friends, is one of my favorite quotes of all time.

ALABAMA FOOTBALL FANS SHOULD BE CAREFUL!

The University of Alabama is considering a speech code which would contain the following provision:

"University officials in charge of student programming must develop clear policies restricting any behavior that demeans or reduces an individual based on group affiliation or personal traits, or which promotes hate or discrimination, in any approved University program or activity.  These policies must be incorporated into any contract entered into by the university regarding participation in formal University programs or activities."

A football game is a "University activity" is it not?  An Auburn football player has a "group affiliation," does he not?  Does this mean that a clear policy must be developed by University officials restricting any behavior at a football game that might in any way "reduce" or "demean" a member of the opposing team?

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Introducing your corporate Turkey of the Year!  The award goes to Fannie Mae!  At least they cancelled that executive retreat at the Ritz-Carlton in Naples.

We love to highlight the columns of Mike Adams on this website.  He is a professor at the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, and he is no fan of college political correctness.  Adams has a suggestion on where to send your child to college!  Here it is!

These bomb labs they're finding in Iraq are a clear signal that another terrorist attack is in the works.

Suddenly Colombian officials don't know anything about any plot to kill President Bush.  How about a little international CYA here!

The Intelligence Reform Bill is defective.  George Bush will strengthen his position if he recognizes it and acts accordingly.

Perhaps you will interested in learning more about what led to the flu vaccine crisis ... if it is, in fact, a crisis at all.

A federal appeals court barred the government yesterday from blocking funds to colleges that refuse to allow military recruiters on campus.  Here's an idea: how about banning credit card companies from campuses?  Oh wait...they pay bribes.  Never mind.

One of the whistleblowers on The Poodle's military service has had his life ruined because he spoke out.  Looks like John Kerry isn't the only one that lost on November 2nd.

Maria Shriver has slammed the door on Arnold Schwarzeneger running for president, saying "Forget about it, it's not going to happen."  Guess that answers that.

French President Jacques Chirac turned 72 yesterday.  Apparently he still wants to run for another term in 2007, but he will have a pro-U.S. challenger.  Should be interesting.

It is not a question of if Iran is going to develop a nuclear weapon, but when.  Christian Lowe takes a look at Tehran's recent public decision to halt its uranium enrichment program.

Iran's supposed promise to Europe that it will stop its nuclear program is just the latest dance between the Axis of Weasels and another Islamic terrorist government that wants nukes.  Michael Ledeen has more.

Kofi Annan is going to have to resign because of the Oil-For-Food rip-off, and this business with his son is the straw that broke the camel's back, says William Safire.

Should Republicans try and change the Senate rules to limit the filibustering of President Bush's judicial appointees?  George Will says no, and gives some reasons.

President Bush has a mandate for a second term, but Dick Morris says Republicans need to be careful about how far it stretches.  He says Bush won the election because of three things: Terrorism, terrorism and terrorism.

What is the real problem in the election controversy in the Ukraine?  George Will sums it up in two words: Vladimir Putin.  He explains why Putin isn't really the ally he's all cracked up to be.

Liberals in the media are accusing Republicans of being arrogant because they're interpreting their victories as a mandate.  David Limbaugh wants to know who's calling whom arrogant?
