WHY LET THE INMATES RUN THE ASYLUM

I just finished my regularly-scheduled Tuesday morning appearance on CNN's Daybreak.  The winsome Nancy Skinner, a leftist talk show host from Chicago, and I debate some issue the CNN producers think to be hot.  Today the question was "When will the 2004 presidential election be decided?"

Nancy and I were in agreement on our mutual distrust of electronic voting machines, though for different reasons.  I don't like them because there generally isn't a paper backup.  Nancy doesn't like them because the principal manufacturer of the machines is a Republican.  Presumably Nancy would like those machines if the manufacturer supported Kerry.  But that's where the agreement ended.

Nancy says that Gore won the 2004 election by 500,000 votes.  Isn't it sad when a person manages to get to the point where they have their own talk show in the nation's number three radio market, and they don't even have a working familiarity with the Constitution?

That, of course, brought us to the idea that Americans have a right to vote ... and that includes a right to vote in a presidential election. Sorry, folks .. but it just isn't so.  I hate going over this again, but you can read the Constitution all you want, and you're never going to find any clause which grants a universal right to vote to American citizens.   You will find a 15th Amendment where it is written that a person can't be prevented from voting because of their race, ethnicity, gender ... etc.  All the 15th Amendment does is restrict the states and the federal government from turning voters away from the polls because of race, gender or religion.  Nothing in the 15th Amendment says that either the states or the federal government must allow all people to vote.  There are rights granted to all Americans.  You can worship and express yourself as you please.  Sorry .. no right to vote.

Now, as for presidential elections.  Read the constitution.  There is no constitutional guarantee that there will be any vote at all, let alone that everyone has the "right" to vote.  The only people who have a right to vote for president under our Constitution are the electors from each state.  There is no restriction placed on the states as to how these electors must be chosen.  State legislatures may appoint the electors with absolutely no public vote if they so chose.  Right to vote?  It simply isn't there.

Now .. having covered the "right to vote" nonsense ... let's get to the point.  The principal problem with the 2000 election in Florida was voter incompetence.  There were thousands of voters in Florida who were so dense, so stunningly stupid that they couldn't even follow the simple instructions for filling out a punch-card ballot.  Many were so void of reasoning ability that they couldn't figure out the mindlessly simple butterfly ballot.  These people couldn't cope with the simple task of voting, and yet we celebrate the fact that they could have made the difference in who was in the White House on September 11th?

I believe that the ultimate survival of this Republic is in doubt.  How can you feel optimistic about a continuation of the American saga when almost 50% of the people in this country would hand the reins of power to someone like John Kerry?  Can America be saved?  Can freedom and individuality prevail?  Yes ... but only with some drastic measures.  At the top of the list is culling the voter rolls.  Welfare recipients first.  If you depend on government handouts for your survival, at least have the decency to sit back and let the people who are paying your bills make the decisions.  Maybe we could also limit voting to people who actually know who is representing them in their state legislators and in Washington?

We can figure out who gets to vote and who doesn't later.  Right now we just have to come to the understanding that to allow people without a clue into a voting booth is dangerous to our Republic and the future of freedom.

AND YET KERRY WILL CARRY THE JEWISH VOTE

Yasser Arafat supports The Poodle.  Arafat wants Bush defeated and Kerry in the White House, this according to several Palestinian leaders.  Saeb Erekat, one of Arafat's chief negotiators, told World Net Daily that the Palestinian Authority wants a change in who occupies the White House.  Another Arafat confidant said that Arafat thinks Kerry would be better for the Palestinian cause.

Here's the oddity.  Even if Arafat were to film campaign commercials for Kerry, and accompany him on the campaign trail, Kerry would still carry the Jewish vote in the United States.

Some things just can't be figured out.

Vote for Kerry if you chose.  Just remember who will be figuratively slapping you on the back as you cast that vote.  Yasser Arafat, for one.  The world's Islamic terrorists, for another.  Sorry ... facts is facts.

AL GORE IS OFF HIS MEDS AGAIN

The former vice president is at it again.  These little public displays of his are almost becoming sad debacles...but when Gore speaks, the media listens.  Giving a speech at Georgetown University yesterday, Gore said  "I'm convinced that most of the president's frequent departures from fact-based analysis have much more to do with right-wing political and economic ideology than with the Bible."

What possible "frequent departures from fact-based analysis" is he talking about?  This is the same Al Gore whose administration's stated Iraq policy for 8 years was regime change.  This is the same Al Gore whose administration did nothing in response to Islamic terrorism, despite repeated attacks on the United States and our interests.  And what does he mean "right-wing political and economic ideology?"

Wasn't it right-wing economic ideology when Al Gore supported NAFTA?  How about when the Clinton administration passed welfare reform?  Wasn't that right-wing, Al?  The former vice president continued:  "It is love of power for its own sake that is the original sin of this presidency."  Was it Al Gore's "love of power" at work when he shamelessly tried to steal the election in Florida by only demanding selective recounts in Democratic-heavy counties?  What about when they tried to get the military ballots thrown out?

The nonsense continued:  "Truly, President Bush has stolen the symbolism and body language of religion and used it to disguise the most radical effort in American history to take what rightfully belongs to the American people and give as much of it as possible to the already wealthy and privileged."  Yeah, Al. Sure Al.  When a productive American is actually allowed to keep more of the money they earn, that's taking something that rightfully belongs to someone else.  Only a liberal could come up with such an absurdity.

Once again, the left has this double standard with religion.  Just because George Bush speaks with moral clarity and brings up his religion from time to time, he is somehow different from the Democrats, who do the exact same thing.

Al Gore is a bitter man....and his all-consuming hatred for George Bush will continue until the day he dies.  It's really quite sad.

THE NAACP 'VOTE FOR CRACK' DRIVE

The Democrats and traditional Democratic constituencies are going to do everything in their power to steal the election for John Kerry, and this story emphasizes that point quite nicely.

An Ohio man has been arrested for allegedly filing more than 100 false voter registrations in exchange for crack cocaine from a woman working on behalf of the NAACP's voter registration drive.  In case you needed reminding, Ohio (along with Florida) is one of the most important battleground states in the election.

Toledo police searched the home of Georgianne Pitts, the woman working for the NAACP, and found more voter registration forms. She admitted to paying the man crack for his services, and says she was hired by the NAACP, which of course denies any charge of voter fraud.  Yeah right...dry that one out and you could fertilize the lawn.  The fact of the matter is most polling places don't require identification to be able to vote, so there is nothing stopping people from voting at more than one polling place.

Just as in the past, the Democratic Party depends on and will need every last vote from dead people, people voting more than once, and any other form of "disenfranchisement" they can cook up.

I THOUGHT THEY WEREN'T TERRORISTS

You know all those stories in the media about how the prisoners being held at Guantanamo Bay, Cuba weren't really terrorists?  Why, to hear them tell it, they were innocent bystanders being tortured by the evil Americans!  Surely they were being held without cause, weren't they?  Well, not really.

You see, at least seven former prisoners from Gitmo have been involved in terrorist acts, despite signing a pledge to renounce violence.  What?  An Islamic terrorist not keep his word?  Surely there must be some mistake....the left must feel so let down.

The seven were among 203 detainees that were let go from the prison.  Despite what the media and the "international community" may think, they were being held there for a reason.  These Islamic terrorists were enemies of the United States of America.

I wonder what all of these human rights organizations are going to say now?  Nothing, of course.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Well ... we're running a bit late in the campaign, so it's time for the Democrats to do what the Democrats have done so well for generations ... scare the Depends off of senior citizens.

Fight back against email scammers!  In short, screw with them!  Frustrate them!  Here's your link.  It's call scambaiting.  Soon it will be an Internet sport.  Here's an excellent example of how to scambait!  Read and have fun. [The website appears to be down, but here's an article about it]

This one is fun.  Just click on this link to see how unbelievably proud John Edwards is of his hair.  And where did the glasses come from?

What will be the net effect of Kerry's glaring weakness on the issue of national security?

The terrorist picks the terrorist appeaser every time.  Yasser Arafat has endorsed The Poodle.  Anyone surprised?  I didn't think so.

Russian President Vladimir Putin is endorsing President Bush for reelection.  According to the left, Russia is supposed to be supporting The Poodle because they were against the war in Iraq.  Guess not.

A former Vietnam POW says that John Kerry preyed on his family, while he was being tortured by the North Vietnamese in prison.  Sounds like Oval Office material to me.

Former Democratic New York Mayor Ed Koch is calling out  The Poodle for  his disgraceful remark about Mary Cheney.   Check out the stinging editorial.

The Florida Supreme Court gets it right, this time shooting down the stupid idea of people being able to vote at the wrong precinct.

Donald Rumsfeld says the lessons of the Cold War will lead us to victory in the War on Terror.  You can read his full op-ed piece here.

John Kerry and John Edwards' mentioning of Mary Cheney was a low blow that will be long-remembered after the campaign is over, says William Safire.

The Bush v. Gore Supreme Court decision of 4 years ago could very well plunge the nation into chaos on November 3rd, as George Will explains.

President Bush is criticized for talking about his faith, while The Poodle is given a free pass to do the same thing.  David Limbaugh looks at the issue.

As if you needed a list of reasons...Dennis Prager tells us why he cannot vote for John Kerry.  It's quite a list.

Two weeks to go until Election Day....and Matt Towery guides us down the home stretch.  Hard to believe it will all soon be over.

Did you know the deficit is $100 billion less than forecasted?  Jack Kemp has the details, and explains how the media still isn't getting it right.

CNN's Tucker Carlson is feuding with Kerry supporter and liberal Democrat Jon Stewart, of Daily Show fame. Maybe they could set up a boxing match or something. Watch Jon Stewart on Crossfire.
