IS THIS ALL HE HAS AT THIS STAGE IN THE GAME?

Finally John Kerry has decided to face up the reality that there were dangerous weapons in Iraq.  Here we are, five days before the election, and now Kerry has figured out that Saddam had weapons that posed a threat.  Reports that 380 tons of high explosives disappeared from a storage facility have really ignited a fire in the branches of the Haunted Tree.*

Yesterday this was virtually all Kerry could talk about.  Here we are five days before the election, and all this leftist could talk about was this bogus story about 380 tons of explosives that can't be found.  Now ... get this:  If you are a reporter and you call the Kerry campaign office for a definitive statement as to whether or not it is Kerry's position that those explosives were still there when American forces arrived, they will tell you that this is not, in fact, Kerry's position.  Than you go listen to Kerry on the stump he will say that those weapons most definitely were there, and that Bush just let them disappear.

A few points:

  • It's our troops that Kerry is slamming, not Bush. If the explosives were there, it was the job of our troops to secure them.  Bush wasn't there.
  • ABC News has a rather interesting report.  ABC has a confidential memo from the IAEA which says that inspectors actually documented about three tons of explosives in that facility, not 380 tons.  We'll see if Kerry mentions this discrepancy.
  • And, as you will read in the next segment, Bill Gertz is reporting that it may well have been the Russians who helped Saddam remove these explosives and move them off to Syria.

There is one thing for sure now.  Saddam Hussein is not in possession of those weapons.

Kerry calls it a growing scandal.  The true growing scandal here is that Kerry has nothing else to talk about at this late stage in the election.

*"Haunted Tree"  A description of John Kerry offered by one of his supporters writing in the Guardian of London.

RUSSIANS IN BED WITH SADDAM

The Washington Time's Bill Gertz, a reporter who gets it right,  is reporting that Russian special forces troops moved Saddam Hussein's weapons out of Iraq into Syria weeks before the March 2003 invasion by the U.S. Military.  Hmm...so maybe that's where the 380 tons of explosives went?

That's exactly so, a
ccording to John Shaw, the deputy undersecretary of defense for international technology security ( Yeah, I didn't know there was such a job either,) the Russian troops almost certainly removed the material from the Al-Qaqaa facility.  Shaw also had this to say: "The Russians brought in, just before the war got started, a whole series of military units.  Their main job was to shred all evidence of any of the contractual arrangements they had with the Iraqis. The others were transportation units."  And why would they want to do that?

Because they probably were hiding much, much more.  What else did the Russians provide Saddam in violation of international sanctions?  Furthermore, what do the Russians know about where the WMD went?  We know it was there, we know Saddam had it...and now it's gone.

You won't hear much about this in the mainstream media, because it's a story that helps Bush.  Also, expect The Poodle to continue his lying marathon and not acknowledge any possibility that the Russians moved the WMD that the left says was never there.

AID AND COMFORT TO THE ENEMY?

We have to go back to the Vietnam for a bit here.  We have to go back because it looks like John Kerry has been caught in yet another lie .. and this one may be quite serious.

Here's the story:

In 1970 John Kerry went to visit the communist delegation to the Vietnamese peace talks.  Then he went to visit them again.  The congress of the United States was not informed of these visits until almost a year later.  By the way, Kerry was a Navy Reserve Officer at the time.  Finally ... then the leftist media found out the truth about Kerry's trips, they failed to correct their own stories on the subject.

You've probably heard some of this before, but it was presented to you in such a way as to make Kerry's visit and the motivations behind the visit seem entirely benign.

The charges that Kerry traveled to Paris to commiserate with the Communists first surfaced in the Swift Boat Veteran's television ad campaign.   The Swiftees said that Kerry traveled to Paris to "secretly" meet with the enemy.  The New York Times and the Washington Post quickly jumped to Kerry's defense ... saying that he informed the congress immediately of his visit.  Later these newspapers found out that Kerry's visit was in 1970, not '71, and that he didn't tell the congress until almost a year later.  That makes the meeting a secret indeed.

The media also reported that Kerry was actually on his vacation in Paris at the time, so the trip was not made for the explicit purpose of meeting with the communists.  That turns out to be false also.  His honeymoon was in the Caribbean.  It seems that he did, indeed, travel to Paris just to meet with communists ... to meet with the communists negotiating with the United States for a settlement to the Vietnam war.

Wait!  There's more!  There was another Kerry trip to meet with the communists, this one in 1971!  And according to Joshua Muravchik in The Weekly Standard, a third trip was planned.

Perhaps you've heard somewhere along the way that when Kerry went to Parris he actually met with both sides, not just the communists.  That would certainly put him in better light, wouldn't it?  You probably got that from The New York Times.

The Times was quite upset that the Swiftees said that Kerry had gone to Paris to meet with the enemy.  Not so, said the Times.  Kerry actually testified that he met with "both sides."  Well .. the Times then found out that by "both sides" Kerry meant that he had visited with both communist delegations to the peace talks.   In fact, "both delegations" was the phrase Kerry used in describing his visit.   The next week the Times ran a small correction saying that it had "misidentified" the parties Kerry went to visit.

America was at war.  We were at war against the communist enemy in Vietnam.  Tens of thousands of Americans soldiers were dying.  John Kerry, while still a reserve officer in the U.S. Navy,  makes several trips abroad to visit with the enemy.  That's right, the enemy.  He waits almost a year before he bothers to inform the congress of his visit.  He then makes a second trip, and is planning a third that was cancelled.  The media is giving him a pass.  They're giving him a pass because they know that if Kerry's actions are highlighted for the voters it would cost him votes.

FRAUDULENT REGISTRATION?  WHO CARES?

In the next few days .. and possibly in the next few weeks you're going to hear a lot of stories about fraudulent voter registrations and other voter fraud.  I want you to listen to statements made by Democrats with this in mind.  See if these Democrats aren't putting forth the proposition that every single person who shows up at a voting place to vote should be allowed to vote and their vote should count.  Registered?  Doesn't matter.  Correct precinct?  That doesn't matter either.  Citizen?  You had better not ask them to prove it.  If you show up to vote, your vote should be counted ... regardless.  Watch, folks, and see if this isn't ultimately the Democrat's position.

VIDEOTAPE WARNS OF ATTACK ON AMERICA

Drudge broke a story that ABC News was secretly holding a videotape they got from Pakistan that shows a man threatening a massive attack on America.  The man on the tape claims to  be a U.S. native and Al-Qaeda supporter and says that the "streets will run with blood."  Sources also say that the attack will dwarf that of September 11, 2001.

Other than the appearance of the videotape, this is not news.  Al-Qaeda has threatened to kill millions of Americans already, but will people take it seriously?  In case after case, Islamic terrorists have warned they are going to do something, and then they did it.  Are you listening?

We already know that the terrorists' candidate of choice is The Poodle.  They decided to throw the election in Spain, and attacked Madrid, and were rewarded by the defeatist surrender monkeys at the polls.  Can the same thing happen here?  You bet, and people need to pay attention.

The United States is engaged in a world war on terrorism...a global struggle against Islamo-fascism that threatens our freedom.  And yet  more people are worried about jobs and health care.  Amazing

READING ASSIGNMENTS

The Poodle's campaign is in overdrive trying to stop the loss of black voters.  Ann Coulter explains, as only she can, why this is and how the Democrats are doing all they can to right the ship.

The Kerry Kampaign is finally realizing that they don't have a prayer of beating Bush on terror, so they're switching gears to domestic issues.  Dick Morris says it's too late for that, now that the president is ahead.

Once this election is over, Congress and the states should push to end voter fraud, says Jim Wooten.  Of course, accomplishing this would put Democrats at a disadvantage.

The Democrat's supposed 'October Surprise' actually supports President Bush's rationale for invading Iraq in the first place.  James Glassman has more.

Because of the coveted Hispanic vote, neither party is likely to every do anything about illegal immigration.  Thomas Sowell looks at other important issues in part four of his "stop and think" series.

Larry Elder recently spent a day with the Air Force Reserves, and reports that to a person, all of the soldiers think the war in Iraq was just and necessary.  They also say positive news in Iraq is being ignored here in the U.S.

Worried that The Poodle might win?  Robert Novak says Bush is likely to re-elected, and security-minded women may make the difference.  We can only hope so.

The campaign is almost over, and the media and the Democrats have already unleashed their October surprise.  But Emmett Tyrrell says the story is completely false, and compares it to some of The Poodle's tall tales.

Despite the story being a discredited lie, CBS continues to push the bogus missing weapons story.  As you would expect, The Media Research Center is on the case.

Even John Kerry's own foreign policy adviser can't vouch for the missing weapons story, but that isn't stopping The Poodle from continuing to advance the lie. Bill Kristol has more.

Actor Rip Torn got ripped and hassled the cops...check out the video.
