IN D.C. TONIGHT
Tonight I'll be in Washington DC to be a presenter for the
Media Research Center's annual gala, the
Media DisHonors Awards. Tomorrow's show will be broadcast from The
Heritage Foundation, always good hosts with good coffee. "Independent Bernie Sanders, a self-described socialist."
Fox News, and only Fox News Channel describes Sanders in this way. You will
never hear CNN, NBC, CBS or ABC refer to the fact that Bernie Sanders
calls himself a socialist. Is this what makes Fox News Channel so right
wing? SPITTING AT BARBARELLA
Poor Jane Fonda. 67-year-old Hanoi Jane was
subjected to
a nasty little incident while signing books Tuesday in Kansas City.
A man named Michael Smith, himself a veteran of the Vietnam War, got in Fonda's
book signing line.
Before he did so, he shoved a wad of
chewing tobacco in his mouth...which he does not use, but you can see where this
is going. He got up to Fonda, and he let her have it...spitting in her face.
Why did he do it?
Because of her treasonous actions in
visiting North Vietnam during the Vietnam War. She gave aid and comfort to the
enemy at a time when thousands of American GI's were losing their lives. This
guy, along with many others, hasn't forgoten. So he let her have it.
Smith was arrested for disorderly
conduct: "I consider it a debt of honor. She spit in our faces for 37 years.
It was absolutely worth it. There are a lot of veterans who would love to do
what I did." For her part, Fonda wiped off her face and kept on signing books.
She also refused to press any charges against Smith.
I don't like Jane Fonda. She is
the one person in contemporary America who I believe should have been charged
with treason. I firmly believe that she should be wasting away in jail
right now for her actions during the Vietnam war. Having said that, I also
believe that she came out of this situation looking a lot better than Michael
Smith did. I have no tolerance or respect for a man who would spit in the
face of a woman. Any woman. Even Jane Fonda. It was an
assault, and Smith should go to jail. There are ways to express your opinions,
even strong and heartfelt rage, without spitting in someone's face. HOUSE OK'S DRILLING IN ANWR
Get ready to ship the oil
rigs up north to the Alaskan National Wildlife Refuge! The House of
Representatives passed a bill yesterday authorizing drilling in the area that
was meant to be drilled in from the very start. It is expected that the region
could produce 1 million barrels of oil a day.
Naturally, Democrats are
opposed. So is the leftist mainstream media, which is (just like they always
have) engaging in a disinformation campaign when it comes to ANWR. There
are two methods the mainstream media uses to deceive television viewers when
reporting on this issue. First, if they do happen to show the area where
the actual exploration will take place, they will only show it in the Summer ..
when there will be no exploration activity. Only when the actual
exploration area is covered with ice with the movement of equipment and
machinery be permitted. There will be NO damage to the precious frozen
tundra. Second, they will show you areas of Alaska and of ANWR where there
will be absolutely NO exploration or drilling. It's as if the media --
especially CNN -- is telling you "look at these wonderful mountains, pristine
streams and meadows of wildflowers. How do you think oil rigs will look
here? The fact is that there will be no oil exploration in the areas
depicted. It's a con, a fraud ... and it is intentional.
This was all taken care
of in 1980...when the refuge was created. An area was set aside...called
section 1002...specifically for drilling. The potential is huge...it is
estimated that there is 10.4 billion barrels of oil under the barren, frozen
wasteland. This is just what we need to be doing to reduce our dependence on
foreign oil.
But the left doesn't want
us to reduce our reliance on foreign oil. Their goal is a weaker America.
An energy dependent America is a weaker America. Sure. they talk about it.
give it a lot of lip service. But how many of those limousine liberals get into
their fuel-guzzling private jets or their gas-hogging SUVs and ride around
bitching about gas prices just like everyone else? The answer is all of them.
An independent energy policy in the United States would bring down gas prices,
make us less vulnerable to the whims of the terrorist-supporting Islamic sheiks
that make up OPEC.
But alas, cheaper gas
prices are good for the Bush administration. Remember, if it's good for America,
expect Democrats to be opposed. The bill now goes to the Senate. Don't hold
your breath.

MILE HIGH
Remember a couple of weeks back when we talked about a guy who takes people for
rides in his little plane so they can join the mile high club? We got a few mile
high stories from you and we'll send them out in today's Boortz Blast

READING ASSIGNMENTS
Ann Coulter got quite the reaction to her column
about people throwing pies at her and other conservative speakers. The charges
against the people who attacked her were dismissed...and she wants to know why.
Oh, and
she's still mad about that Time magazine cover photo.
Hillary for president?
Bill Frist? Trent
Lott reminds everyone of a dirty little secret:
Senators can't get elected president. Never mind the fact that the last sitting
Senator to be elected president was John F. Kennedy. Lott points out that most
Senators have voted on both sides of issues.
Condi Rice announced in Russia yesterday that she would be running
for president in 2008. But wait, she immediately said she wasn't
running....just a slip-up? It sure would make things interesting.
Dick Morris warns that a Republican decision
to change the rules in the Senate eliminating the filibuster...the so-called
"nuclear option"....would be a disaster. He likens it to FDR's attempt to pack
the Supreme Court.
Why isn't gasoline
cheaper? Speaker
of the House Dennis Hastert says one group of people are to blame:
Democrats. Don't miss this one.
If you're looking for a
stunning example of media bias,
Brent Bozell says you need look no further than the mainstream media's coverage
of the Tom DeLay incident. They haven't even bothered to explain the substance
of the charges.
Larry Elder poses an extremely politically incorrect question:
why do some racial or ethnic groups outperform students from other ethnic or
racial groups? The answer: they work harder.
What would the new Pope
be like if liberals like Nancy Pelosi were the ones that got to make the
selection?
Jonah Goldberg looks at the hysteria surrounding the naming
of Pope Benedict XVI.
What's all of this
fighting between China and Japan about?
Larry Kudlow explains it all...and says none of it will be good for the United
States. Which means
we should pay attention.
The problem with changing
the Senate rules to eliminate the filibuster lies in the marketing. Debra
Saunders says it should have a catchy name
like 'Let every vote count.' Morning Sickness: Woman fired for refusing to
take out eyebrow ring is
taking her case to the Supreme Court. A member of the
Church of Body Modification,
she says her eyebrow ring is a sign of devotion. Morning Sickness: After leaving her home in the care of house sitters, woman comes home to find what's left of her pet cat in a pot in the fridge. |
