| Wednesday -- December 7, 2005 The Supreme Court is considering the question of whether or not the U.S. Government can withhold federal funds from colleges and universities that bar military recruiters from campuses. The campuses say that they bar the military recruiters because the military discriminates against homosexuals. I'm not buying it. These campuses aren't barring the military because of any discrimination issue. They're trying to bar military recruiters because of an overwhelming hatred of those in uniform .. a hatred shared by many institutions on the left. If they're private colleges, let them bar who they will ... but not with taxpayers' dollars.
Well, there you go. Now we have the Democratic Presidential candidate, The Poodle, applying the "T" word to our own troops in Iraq. Our men and women in uniform are "terrorizing kids and children, you know, women ...." This was a stark reminder of Kerry testifying before the congress decades ago telling his lies about the actions of American troops in Vietnam. On April 12, 1971 this same John Kerry told the congress that American soldiers in Vietnam had "raped, cut off ears, cut off heads, taped wires from portable telephones to human genitals and turned on the power, cut off limbs, blew up bodies, randomly shot at civilians, razed villages in a fashion reminiscent of Genghis Khan." In Iraq, our troops terrorize. In Vietnam, they cut off heads and randomly shot at civilians. Kerry being Kerry ... slamming and denigrating American soldiers. Yesterday on the show a caller reminded me of a time when American "troops" did, in fact, knock down a door in the middle of the night and terrorized a child. It happened almost six years ago. Does anybody remember? A Democrat was in the White House, and the "Commander in Chief" of these particular "troops" was a female Democrat. The date was April 22, 2000. The terrorized child was Elian Gonzalez. Side note: It's interesting to note that as soon as Kerry demeans the American troops, his handlers start trotting out that "decorated combat veteran" stuff. The question of Kerry's combat medals is still very much open ... including those band-aid Purple Hearts of his. You've heard of cut-and-run? Kerry in Vietnam was a story of scratch-and-run. He bailed out with a few scratches .... and left men of stronger moral character than he to stay and do the fighting. The only top Al Qaeda leader we've heard form in some time, Ayman al-Zawahri, appeared on another video on an Islamic jihadist website yesterday. al-Zawahiri sent words of encouragement to his terrorist colleagues and America-haters: "I bring a message of joy to all Muslims and mujahideen that al Qaeda, thanks to God, is spreading and expanding and strengthening, Al Qaeda for holy war is still, thanks to God, a base for jihad (holy war). Its prince Sheikh Osama bin Laden, may God protect him, is still leading its jihad," OK, fine. A little shoe-pounding and chest-beating from al-Zawahiri. I have a question though. If bin Laden is still leading the terrorist jihad, why haven't we seen a video of him for over three years? Come on, al-Zawahiri ... produce the man! Slap a copy of bin Laden's favorite newspaper, The New York Times, into his gnarly hands and snap a picture! Put that picture on your favorite terrorist websites! Show us the bastard is already dead, killed by American action in Afghanistan or Pakistan. Me? I think the SOB is dead. I hope it was painful. As you know, I make it a habit to peruse the "Vent" feature of the Atlanta Journal-Constitution every day. Here is a reader comment that appeared in today's edition:
Oh yeah, that's just brilliant. Our governments are multi-billion dollar operations, and we need to restrict those who we entrust with spending and managing these sums to people who can't manage to acquire over $500,000 in net worth. Let us know how that works for you.
Par for the course. It's always someone else's fault. Perhaps the people
who followed the evacuation order and left town didn't have to worry about being
left behind, because they actually left. With a few exceptions, those who
stayed behind did so because they were waiting for the welfare state to take
care of them, just as they have all their lives. Once again, the Great Society
kills, sucking the individualism and self-sufficiency right out of the human
spirit. We have a new poll about torture...and you can expect the slanted press to bury it. According to a new AP-Ipsos poll, not only do a majority of Americans but also the British, the French and South Koreans believe that torturing suspects is justified. Yes, that's right...the French. Apparently after Islamic terrorists set all their cars on fire, they've come around (at least temporarily.) 61% of Americans believe torture is justified in rare instances. What are those instances? Probably when a terrorist suspect has information that could prevent another attack. But keep in mind we're not even torturing people. Sorry, but sitting in a cold room in your underwear listening to Eminem isn't torture...well, it may come close...but it's not what this poll is talking about. But you won't be hearing much about this poll....after all, it makes the Bush administration look good. Remember the template: any news that's interpreted as being good for George Bush is buried, while the bad news is covered on page one. Typical media bias. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK Here's another little departure from the regular pictures...a Christmas joke sent in by Brad. More in the
Donald Rumsfeld wants to know why the media just won't tell the American people the whole story about what's going on in Iraq. Here's the text of a speech Rumsfeld delivered on Monday. | ||
