Who is on Tookie's side here? Well, we have pretty much the normal cast of characters. We have the NAACP, of course, and we have actors and rappers. There's also the community "activists" singing out for Tookie. We also have a Swiss legislator and a pant-full of college professors. These professors have been repeatedly offering Tookie Williams as a candidate for the Nobel Peace Prize. No big deal there, the Nobel Peace Prize hasn't been about actual peace for decades. Now it's all about promoting the leftist agenda. They call Tookie an "anti-gang crusader." Yet Tookie Williams would never cooperate with law enforcement in their efforts to bring the Crips gang, the gang he founded. He wouldn't disclose the names of gang members to the cops. Look for Arnold to give Tookie a pass.
There's a link to a column by Norman Podhoretz in the reading assignments. Podhoretz says that the Democrats, and this would include the mainstream media, are in a state of near panic over these elections. The Democrats know that a successful election will be good for Iraq and good for George Bush. Remember the template: if a Republican president stands to benefit, any and all good news must be erased from existence and liberal propaganda inserted in its place. Instead of celebrating what might be a great day for the future of Iraq, the Democrats are busy ginning up their attacks on Connecticut Democratic Senator Joseph Lieberman. Lieberman had the unmitigated gall to announce that he observed that substantial progress was being made in Iraq during his last visit. What's more, Lieberman reminded the Democrats that Bush was going to be the commander in chief for the next three years whether they liked it or not, so they might as well get used to is and work for a beneficial conclusion to the Iraq adventure. Lieberman is now on the outs with the Democratic leaders. Howard Dean's brother is even cranking up an anti-Lieberman mail campaign. Remember ... success for Bush in Iraq is a nightmare for Democrats. They are
being driven by politics on this situation, nothing more. The future of the
Iraq people is of no importance when compared to the future of the Democratic
Party. This Vent appeared in the Atlanta Journal-Constitution this morning:
I know that this is tough to grasp, especially since you weren't taught this in our government schools, but the Constitution does not "give" us any rights. The Constitution protects our rights ... rights that were ours by virtue of our very existence before the Constitution was ever drafted. Remember, what the government gives you, the government can take away. Don't feel bad though. Bill Clinton repeatedly made the same mistake while he was in the Oral Office. The president should know better. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK It's nice when rest areas go out of their way to cater to everyone. More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS Okay, here's the airplane on the conveyor belt article. Now stop calling about it! How dare a Democrat back the war? Don't all Democrats know that any success in Iraq is a win for Bush ... and Bush must be denied a victory, no matter what the cost. Here's an excellent WSJ editorial. Maybe the Democrats are more afraid than we know? In fact, Norman Podhoretz (three times real fast) says that the "loyal" opposition is in a near state of panic over the possibilities of American success in Iraq! A very comprehensive must-read article. This article cites a report that says California is not prepared for a tsunami. The BIG earthquake is a certainty in California. A tsunami is not. Keep working on that earthquake thing and let the professionally nervous worry about the tsunami. Does any columnist know Hillary better than Dick Morris? Here he says that Hillary can't have it both ways on the Iraq war, no matter how hard she tries. John Leo has an excellent Christmas Quiz for you. For instance, what are the new words to "Silent Night" at the Ridgeway Elementary School in Dodgeville, Wisconsin? Hollywood actor George Clooney says he's tired of "liberal" being a bad
word.
He also says he's not thrilled with the prospect of Hillary Clinton being
elected president. At least he's half right. | ||
