NEAL SPEECHLESS?

Yep, Neal is speechless today, literally. Hear that? It's the cheers of liberals everywhere. Don't worry, he's sure to be back soon enough. In the meantime, we've got some notes to keep you busy. On the air you'll find a best of.

PRESIDENT HILLARY CLINTON

Wear it!
Bill Clinton, in an interview yesterday with Japanese television, said that his wife would be an excellent choice for president. He then lied and said "I don't know if she'll run or not." Yeah right. It has always been her intention to run.....are we supposed to believe that The Hildabeast intends to remain a Senator from New York for the rest of her life? I think not.

The former president then went on to say "I think now she's at least as good as I was." At least? Could anyone possibly be any worse? We'll have to see. It looks like she'll have no problem capturing the nomination. Senator Joe Biden yesterday said he was a strong maybe for 2008, but that he believed Hillary would win the nomination. Makes sense...at this point her main competition is The Poodle.

Another liberal Democratic Senator for President. Republicans never had it so good.

LEFTIST PROFESSOR ABOUT TO CASH IN

Ward Churchill, the University of Colorado professor who is now guilty of everything from lying about being an American Indian to comparing the 9/11 victims to Nazis to plagiarizing artwork, is about to get a big payday. You see, the University of Colorado wants to get rid of him. He's a big embarrassment, and having him there is going to start affecting enrollment, which is the bread and butter of any institution.

Churchill has threatened to sue if he gets fired, and university officials don't want a long, drawn-out lawsuit. So naturally it would appear they are about to pay him off. They are kicking around the idea of an early retirement package for Mr. Churchill. How much are we talking about? Take a look at the comments of his lawyer, David Lane: "If they offer $10 million, I would think about it. If they offer him $10, I wouldn't," Lane said.

So now an anti-American, lying, hardcore leftist college professor is going to be paid big bucks to do nothing except go away. You do realize that universities receive large amounts of federal funding, don't you? That means millions of your taxpayer dollars are about to go to pay off this nutcase.

Is this a great country, or what?

SADDAM'S CAGE

The government of Iraq is putting the finishing touches on their court room they are going to use to try former regime officials, including Saddam Hussein. The court room is being constructed inside one of Saddam's former palaces in the Green Zone. And get this: while Saddam is on trial, he will he sitting in a cage in the court room. That's right...just like an animal, in a cage.

Now how long will it be before Amnesty International or some other anti-American organization starts to whine about how that's unfair to Mr. Hussein? The media will no doubt press the case that it is embarrassing and unfair for Saddam to have to be so humiliated. After all, we overthrew his government and took away his power, isn't that enough?

Should he live that long, Saddam's trial is not expected to get underway until next year. Then we will find out just whose side the mainstream media is on.

PUTIN A MICHAEL MOORE DEMOCRAT?

Last week in his meetings with Vladimir Putin, George Bush explained to the Russian President that if his country were to be a democracy, he would have to observe the right to a free press. You see, Putin has been cracking down on the press in his country in a way that would make Stalin proud. So what was Putin's comeback?

He said that if there was such freedom of the press in the United States, then why did those reporters at CBS lose their jobs? Actually, no reporters at CBS have lost their jobs....just a producer and some news executives. Apparently Putin thought that George Bush had personally fired the people at CBS responsible for airing the forged National Guard documents. Sounds like something straight out of the Democratic Underground.

Perhaps Putin has been reading too many biased, mainstream media news stories. The other explanation is that Putin is just getting bad information from his aides. Whatever. Perhaps he's been watching 'Fahrenheit 9/11.'

Last week, the Supreme Court heard arguments in the eminent domain abuse case between residents and the city of New London, Connecticut.  Jeff Jacoby takes a look at the arguments.

What is the real meaning of George Bush's European goodwill tour?  Not much, says Mark Steyn.  He says Europe is in turmoil, and the U.S. can just sit back and watch it implode. Sounds like a good idea.

Is the war in Iraq a mess?   Far from it, explains Jack Kelly.  He says America has won the war there, and the media refuses to see that Iraq is nearly secure.

With Canada's decision not to send troops to Iraq, not to participate in the missile defense system, and not to spend very much on their military, some Canadians are starting to ask whether or not the country stands for anything.  Interesting editorial.

Despite Dick Cheney's statements saying that he will not run for president under any circumstances, that's not stopping Fred Barnes from saying he is the obvious choice as Bush's successor in 2008.

The contenders for the GOP nomination are starting to jockey for positions on the issues, and Robert Novak profiles Massachusetts Governor Mitt Romney and his stand on stem cell research. By the way,  you did know there is no federal ban on stem cell research, didn't you?

Universities these days like to pass politically correct speech codes, which are unconstitutional attempts to limit free speech by leftists.  Professor Mike Adams looks at the case of the University of Alabama.

The Bush administration's policy of spreading freedom in the Middle East is not only working in Iraq, but it's changing minds elsewhere.  Michael Barone talks about the case of Syria, where people are taking to the streets.

While in Europe, President Bush spoke of everything from freedom and democracy to open markets and the flat tax.  Larry Kudlow recounts a speech Bush made in Bratislava that seems to have escaped notice.

Dan Rather is finally breaking his silence over the forged documents story, speaking to the New Yorker's Ken Auletta.  So what does Dan say? He's just as stubborn as ever.
