| Thursday -- June 9, 2005 Well now we're hearing the rumors that Jennifer Wilbanks has a book deal. Now doesn't that just make your eyes bug out like a stomped-on bullfrog? Yup .. the rumor is that Jennifer and her boyfriend are going to cash in with a book deal, a made-for-TV movie, and network TV interviews! The two-time felon is on a roll! She may even get to meet Katie Couric! Some people clearly have no shame.
But ... no. Let's not do it. Instead, why not wait until Iraq is stable and operating on its own, and then ask them to foot the bill out of their oil revenues. If freedom works, Iraq is poised to become the richest oil nation in the Middle East. Another point: There should never be another tax increase in this country unless and until our congress moves to end, completely and permanently, the orgy of pork spending that we witness year after year. Pork spending for 2005 reached $27 billion dollars. That's a 19% increase over the previous year. We could smother our bandwidth telling you of some of these pork projects --- but how about $70,000 for the paper industry hall of fame? Is there any excuse in the world for using the police power of government to seize $70,000 from the person who worked for that money ... all to spend on the paper industry hall of fame? Try this: See if you can get your congressman to pledge no more tax increases until all pork spending is ended. Go ahead. Just try. Let me know how you do.
So .. there you go. Straight from the experts at MTV and Rock the Vote! A nice concise list of the values of young America! Actually, an argument could be made that items 7 through 12 might not belong on this list. These aren't issues that are generally on the minds of the types of young Americans who would be paying attention to MTV or Rock the Vote. At any rate, Clinton should display that award with pride!

READING ASSIGNMENTS Cat vs Ceiling Fan WMV file Some young people get it right on Social Security! Milton Friedman says that after 50 years, education vouchers are beginning to catch on. 'Bout time. This is a certain way to improve the quality of education we make available to our children. Friedman says that the grip of teacher trade unions and education administrators is starting to loosen. Meanwhile, the Florida Supreme Court is questioning the legality of school vouchers. Finally .. A Senate Democrat steps forward to say that Howard Dean is using religion to divide the American people. It's not who you might expect. Meanwhile .. another group of Senate Democrats will step forward today for a "public embrace" of Dean. Now that the Senate is poised to confirm a third Bush judicial nominee previously filibustered by Democrats -- William Pryor -- liberals are upset. They're starting to rethink this whole deal. Do the Republicans still have the will to pull the trigger on the Constitutional option? Dick Morris says that there's a chance that former KKK member Robert Byrd might actually lose in his next bid for reelection. Dasche, then Byrd? Oh, the humanity! Is Mark Felt ('Deep
Throat') a hero of the Watergate scandal?
Absolutely not, says Ann Coulter,
who calls Felt the Richard Clarke of the Watergate era. She also points out
wild inconsistencies in the lore of Woodward and Bernstein.
