Yes .. I know that Hannity had some doctor on the air last night who had been nominated for a Nobel Prize. Yes, I know that this particular doctor says that Terri Schiavo could possibly walk again. His name is Hammensfahr, and he was discussing at length in the Florida Circuit Court's order to remove her feeding tubes. First .. remember that Hammensfahr was selected by Terri's parents. You must know that they would search far and wide until they found a doctor who would say the things that they wanted him to say. In court Hammensfahr testified that he felt that he was able to get Terri Schiavo to repeatedly respond to his command. When the judge was present Hammensfahr gave 105 commands to Schiavo. Then Bob Schindler, Terri's father, gave an additional 6 commands. Hammensfahr then asked Terri 61 questions. Then Mr. Schindler asked another 11 questions. The judge observed the entire procedure and said that he "... saw few actions that could be considered responsive to either those commands or those questions." Over 180 questions and commands, and "few actions" in response. At one point Dr. Hammensfahr testified that Terri squeezed his fingers on command. The problem was that there was a video being taken of her hand at that moment. The video showed nothing .. and there was no reaction from Dr. Hammensfahr to indicate that she had responded. Another doctor, Dr. Maxfield, testified that even a patient in a persistent vegetative state will track a moving object with their eyes on occasion. He also testified that smiling can be nothing more than a automatic reflex to some sort of stimulus. Maxfield was a doctor chosen by the Shindlers. A Gallup poll was released this morning. Fifty six percent of Americans feel that Terri Schiavo's feeding tube should be removed. When that question is couched in terms of the person being artificially fed being your spouse, the figure went up to 61%. Judge Whittemore has essentially ruled that all of the sides with an interest in this case have been heard, the experts have been heard, and the state courts made a decision .. and he sees no reason that a federal court should review those rulings. One of the tragedies here is that people who have no real interest in Terri Schiavo as a person are perfectly willing to seize her and brutalize her in order to further their own political and/or religious agenda. Now ... how about some email? I would estimate that The Neal Boortz Show has received over 2000 emails in the last 24 hours on the Terri Schiavo matter. Here's just a sampling without any spelling corrections or editions. Pick on their spelling for a change.
I feel so loved.
A high school student went on a shooting rampage on an Indian reservation in Minnesota yesterday, killing his grandparents and seven other people before taking the proverbial eternal celestial Indian burial mound nap. Good riddance...saves a fortune on legal costs, not to mention room and board for the rest of his life. You are immediately seeing the justification phase playing out in the mainstream media. After all, such a tragedy simply cannot be the work of one evil psychopath, who was reportedly grinning and waving as he mowed down teachers and students. Already, blame is being placed on:
You will hear nothing about this kid's parents, or whether or not he was a
troublemaker with discipline problems. Blame must be assigned
elsewhere. Also, let's just see how long it takes for this shooting to be
blamed on the Bush administration. That, my friends, is a certainty.
Kofi the Korrupt also linked prosperity to the environment...making the nonsensical statement that the depletion of natural resources is somehow bad for business. Actually, if a nation is using natural resources, that's how you know they're prospering. Take a look at the African continent. Is there a continent more rich in natural resources? Africa has natural resources coming out the whazooo ... but it is still mired in poverty. If not depleting natural resources is good for business we would all be driving African automobiles and importing African HD televisions. But capitalism and prosperity is not the goal of the United Nations. The goal is the creation of a one-world government ... under the auspices of the UN. And one of Kofi's most ridiculous schemes is his proposal to enlarge the security council. He wants to expand it from 15 nations to 24, adding countries from Africa, Asia and Latin America. But the U.N. security council is for nations that provide security, weapons and have a large, ready military. It is not a seat to be handed out to some tin horn dictator in Africa as political patronage. Does the United Nations even have a point anymore? It is being reported that there is something like 500 hours of videotape in existence of prisoner abuse at the United States terrorist detention center in Guantanamo Bay, Cuba. A lawyer for one of the accused detainees says the tapes are as "explosive as Abu Ghraib." The government so far is refusing to release the tapes, due to privacy concerns. If these tapes are released, you can expect it to hit the fan big time. They will be played over and over and over again, George W. Bush will be accused of abusing the prisoners himself, and Democrats will use it for every political advantage they can find. The tapes would also be used to smear the entire United States Military, just like the Abu Ghraib photos were. Hard to believe the videos won't be leaked....if they are, get ready. New Jersey Senator John Corzine made a statement comparing Dick Cheney to Saddam Hussein. Except for here, the Drudge Report and a few other places, you will hear nothing about this because it was a Democrat making the comparison. If it were the other way around, we would never hear the end of it. The editor of Playgirl magazine has been fired after admitting she was a Republican. Not to much freedom on thought on the left these days, is there? The media is in quite a stir about the "record gas prices." By the way, did you know that we are nowhere near record gas prices? At least this story admits we're nowhere near the highest ever. The Hildabeast is proposing the greatest expansion of voter fraud in our nation's history. Called the "Count Every Vote Act of 2005," it would allow anyone to register to vote on Election Day without a photo ID. Just the way Democrats like it...the same person could vote as many times as they wanted. A report says that there are 10 million illegal aliens in the United States. You won't find one Bush administration official proposing rounding every last one of them up and sending them back. Larry Kudlow has posted his interview with Vice President Dick Cheney. Among the topics discussed, the budget and gas prices. With the two year anniversary in Iraq just having passed, the media is playing up the failures in that country, and ignoring the successes. By the way, did you know we won the war? The Media Research Center reports. President Bush's Social Security reform is on the ropes, thanks to elitist liberals who want to have more control over your retirement than you do. Star Parker explains. Does free trade steal jobs from America and put people out of work? While there may be short-term economic disruption, Jack Kemp makes the case that free trade benefits everyone. You know that wonderful government health care we hear so much about in Canada from the left? Well, it turns out things aren't so rosy these days. They're even sending out letters apologizing if you die before you can get in for treatment. I know you all want that audio of the guy leaving a voicemail and describing 4 old ladies beating up a man who hit their car. How can you get it? Sign up for the Boortz Blast newsletter. Thursday's issue will include the audio. Morning Sickness: In Norway, a man was killed when he fell into a sausage grinder. In related news, the FDA allows up to 5 whole insects per 100 grams of apple butter. Ground cinnamon can have up to 11 rodent hairs per 50 grams. See what else is allowed. | ||
