Could there be an ulterior motive here? The post-Civil War history of this country is a history of growing federal government, the weakening of state governments, increased personal dependence on government, the end of the rule of law brought about by the emphasis on majority rule, and the deification of politicians. Perhaps there is a reason government schools don't want to emphasize the self-reliance and love of freedom that dominated American culture before the Civil War. No sense upsetting the government-owned apple cart, right? Always remember the central lesson your children will be taught at all state educational institutions. Government is good. Government is great. All rise up in praise of government.
Oh .. .one more thing. When you hear someone from the left talking about
"peace," be sure to get some kind of definition of that word from them.
Remember, when the Soviet Union was at its strongest Communists would define
"peace" as an absence of opposition to Communism. Could these people be
defining "peace" as an absence of opposition to the Islamic jihad?
The Hildabeast, eager to position herself in the political middle as she runs
for re-election in New York and for the 2008 Democratic ticket, has once again
decided to champion a most important cause. Is it illegal immigration? Taxes?
Nope. Shrillary has focused her beady little eyes* on violent video games. In a world where government confiscates more and more of your paycheck and the Imperial Federal Government is spending money faster than it can print it, Hillary is worried about video games. How nice. So what gives? In order for Hillary Clinton to have any chance of being elected president of the United States (go ahead, you're allowed to shudder,) she must convince the American public that she isn't what she is: a radical leftist. She has to do what her husband did in 1992 and 1996...pretend that she's a moderate....a conservative Democrat. So with an eager media ready to play along, Shrillary is now taking on dirty video games. How's that for an important issue that affects your daily life? Video games on the surface, socialized medicine and the growth of the welfare state on the inside. What a fun year we're going to have in 2008. *I know. That wasn't nice. My prediction. In the early part of 2008 the hottest topic on talk radio
will not be the presidential election. The hot topic will be attempts by
liberals to silence talk radio in order to clear the way for Hillary's march to
the oval office. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK Duct tape...is there anything it can't do? More in the Redneck Scrap Book. YE MERRY OLDE READING ASSIGNMENTS How to spot a rich guy. Probably not safe for work. Cindy Sheehan is upset at the wire services for running pictures of her
sitting at her book signing in front of an empty desk with her head propped up.
Apparently there really were a couple people there. Not even close to a FairTax
book signing though. Is there a move at the United Nations to destroy the materials gathered in investigating the Oil For Food scandal? No, couldn't be! The UN is perfect! Why, we should turn over control of the Internet to the UN, shouldn't we? And we should give the UN criminal courts jurisdiction over American citizens! When's the last time you read James Taranto's Best of the Web Today? This should be a daily read for every one of you. | ||
