| Friday -- September 9, 2005 We'll be taking a breather next week so I'm going to turn much of the Nuze over to the webwench. She's not quite right in the head so I accept no responsibility for what happens. I'm also going to ask Heather, who is now working at our Orlando WDBO affiliate, if she wants to post some musings. Me? I'm going to write next week of The FairTax Plan and post some notes and clarifications about HR25 right here. So ... keep checking back! The FairTax Book, co-author Congressman John Linder, has been getting some interesting reactions from his colleagues on Capitol Hill. One Congressman who had heard little about HR25 called Linder to say that every time he got on an airplane lately there would be at least three or four people sitting there reading The FairTax Book. And those of you who have been sending copies of the book to your elected officials are having an impact ... Linder gets constant comments from other members wondering just who it is that is sending these books to them. So ... let's keep it up. Events will of course chase the FairTax off the news pages ... but if you still believe that this is a good plan that would benefit America, then you can keep up the pressure. For those of you who haven't bought the book and don't know what we're talking about, well .. here's a link! If you order by noon today the book will be in your hands on Monday. Remember, if you order your book online or you can't get to a book signing near you, Congressman Linder and I will send you an adhesive-backed autographed book plate to place inside your copy of The FairTax Book. Just send a self-addressed and stamped letter-sized envelope to:
Now we're hearing that the looting in New Orleans is all FEMA's fault. Louisiana officials delayed relief in New Orleans from the Red Cross. The Red Cross is reporting that they were ready to go into New Orleans with relief supplies on Thursday. Louisiana officials told them to hold off because of "logistics problems." So, will state officials take heat? Of course not? Didn't you know it's all Bush's fault? An Ocala, Florida homeowner's association sent letters out to all 500 residents telling them that they could not take any evacuee families in. Against the rules, don't you know. Don't you just love homeowner's associations? Well --- there they were, href="http://www.gopusa.com/news/2005/september/0909_moveon_katrina1.shtml">MoveOn.org organizers with three Katrina survivors outside of the White House yesterday. They were there to hold Bush accountable for the seawall break in New Orleans. Great timing -- the very same day that The Washington Post runs a story making it clear that Bush played no role at all ... and that Corps of Engineering spending in Louisiana soared to record levels under Bush. What the hell, MoveOn.org certainly isn't going to let the facts get in the way of a good story. Email from a listener: Neal, I just "reserved" your book at the Cobb County government library, which has but one copy in the entire system. I'm #104 on the list. Please help the Cobb government book nerds get with the program! A poor old retired conservative on a fixed income can't run out and buy every book that comes along just because you like it. Here's a prediction. More than 200 New Orleans looting suspects are being held at a place in New Orleans called "Camp Greyhound." It's the New Orleans bus terminal. Give this a few more days and liberals are going to be comparing Camp Greyhound to Abu Ghraib or Gitmo and will be demanding their release. Bet money on this one. This morning CNN's Miles O'Brien was interviewing a Louisiana Congressman about the federal government's reaction to Katrina. O'Brien mentioned that Wall-Mart did a better job of supplying immediate aid to the Katrina victims than did FEMA ... and wondered why. Why? OK, Miles .. listen up. All together Boortz Listeners! "Wal-Mart ain't government!"
You know, I don't think I would consider this
redneck, it's truly inspired! More in the

... AND SOME READING ASSIGNMENTS Oops . Looks like FEMA Director Michael Brown has a padded resume. This ought to be just about it. Time for a new FEMA director. Hell -- it's time for a new FEMA. Why the delay in help from the feds? Well, there are pesky laws to obey. But it seems Bush was thinking about seizing the rescue operation anyway when the incompetence of Louisiana officials became apparent. We're going to have a live Katrina relief telethon this evening. Here comes the Hollywood crowd. You can be absolutely sure Bush is going to be slammed during this event, and the producers say those attacks won't be edited out. The only mystery will be whether or not the Hollywood crowd will call Governor Blanco and Mayor Nagin to task. The father of a Marine killed in Iraq is very critical of Cindy Sheehan. Don't expect this man to get any real attention from the media. This AJC story is about as far as it will go. Here's that story about MoveOn.org protesting with Katrina survivors outside the White House --- oblivious, of course, to the truth. The Pentagon was prepared for Katrina. The problem is, someone has to issue the invitation! Byron York writes that nobody is going to win the Katrina blame game. The organized Democrat attacks on Bush's handling of Katrina continue ... and are made the part of some fund-raising pleas! Charles Krauthammer on assigning blame. So .. Islam is the "religion of peace?" Well, then .. why won't two leading Muslim figures engage in this debate with a Christian Arab organization? Across the leftist government school administrators are blocking student efforts to erect memorials to the victims of 9/11. And don't miss this one ... here's part II of Ann coulter's imaginary version of Ted Kennedy's confidential communications with his lawyer after he drove Mary Jo Kopechne off that bridge on Martha's Vinyard. It looks like Neal is going to leave you hanging on the definition of MILF. To save your computer from all the porn pop-ups you'll get if you click any google search results, here is the definition.
