YEAH, THAT WORKED.  DIDN'T IT?

The Israelis withdraw from Gaza.  Quite the gesture, wasn't it?  This was really going to show the so-called Palestinians that the Israelis wanted to arrive at some state of peaceful coexistence.  So, how did the peace-loving Muslims react to this peace gesture?  Well, they recently spent a few days lobbing rockets into Israel in an attempt to kill civilians.  Any Jew will do ... just kill some. 

The Muslim "Palestinians" saw Israel's withdrawal from these Gaza settlements as a sign a weakness, a capitulation to Muslim aggression.  So, they capitalized on it and immediately pressed their offensive.  There is no gesture Israel can make that will be grand enough, no demonstration of a willingness to peacefully coexist that will suffice.  The Muslims will understand one thing and one thing only; overwhelming force and determination.  By the way ... that goes for all of the grand gestures the United States might make.  Force leading to absolute victory ... that works.

THE LIBERAL MIND AT WORK

Perhaps nothing illustrates the utter lack of logic in the liberal thought processes than the leftist response to our declining violent crime rates.  The Los Angeles Times reported Sunday that violent crime in the U.S. was at a 32-year low.  Thirty-two years ago, by the way, was when our government started keeping statistics.  So .. here comes the Justice Policy Institute.  Believe it or not, the Justice Policy Institute is dedicated to the idea of getting people out of prison.  They think that we need to come up with some solutions other than incarceration as a response to "social problems."  So -- in response to the new statistics showing reduced violent crime, the Justice Policy Institute thinks it would be a good idea to reduce the number of people we have in prisons around the country.  Only a liberal would fail to connect the dots to see that one of the reasons violent crime has gone down is because the people who commit the violent crimes are in jail!  The leftist solution?  Hey, crime is down so let's let the criminals out of jail!

CINDY SHEEHAN IN WASHINGTON

The loon got arrested yesterday.  Smiling as the cops hauled her away.  She was blocking a public way and refused to move.  It happened during a Sheehan-centered "peace" protest in front of the White House.  Now ... here's what you won't learn from the mainstream media.  Sheehan's protest was organized by International A.N.S.W.E.R.  I've told you about this group before.  One of the moving forces behind International A.N.S.W.E.R is a cuddly little group called the Worker's World Party.  That's a communist organization, in case you didn't know.  The Worker's World Party supports governments like those of Kim Jong Il in North Korea and Fidel Castro in Cuba.  The Worker's World Party and other like-minded organizations formed  International A.N.S.W.E.R following the Islamic terrorist attacks of 9/11 in an attempt to forestall any U.S. military response to those attacks.  In the leadership of International A.N.S.W.E.R you will find people who have been supporting communist causes and working for the weakening of America for many many years.  The groups behind International A.N.S.W.E.R have also called for the abolition of private property.   This is the group that Cindy Sheehan, for now, at least, has adopted as her own.  She sure knows how to pick her friends.  Oh .. and by the way.  There was the Sloganmaster, Jesse Jackson himself, standing up there right next to the loon at this International A.N.S.W.E.R affair.  Nice going, Jesse. 

And just how does Cindy Sheehan feel about the hurricane that hit the Texas and Louisiana gulf coast this past weekend?  Well, she's upset.  Not because of the damage and deaths caused by the hurricane, but because it robbed her of publicity.  Sheehan posted a message on dailykos.com which said "I am watching CNN and it is 100 percent Rita .... even though it is a little wind and a little rain ... it is bad, but there are other things going on in the country today .. and in the world."  Day after day more and more liberals are discovering that this woman is truly as crazy as we've been saying she is.

By the way ... If you were watching Fox News Channel last night you would have seen a report detailing the truth about Cindy Sheehan and International A.N.S.W.E.R.  The very fact that Fox News reported the ties between International A.N.S.W.E.R and the Worker's World Party is all the proof that leftists need that Fox is a right-wing menace to all that is wonderful with the world.

ASSIGNING KATRINA BLAME

When the federal response to Hurricane Katrina was being raked over the coals in the media, the general consensus was that the feds had screwed up bad.  Real bad.  The Mayor of New Orleans was on the radio swearing and crying and the governor of Louisiana was blaming everyone she could.  The media did their best to portray President Bush as a clueless idiot, and the blame game was on.

We were led to believe that state and local officials were victims in this...and they were largely absolved of any responsibility in the press.  But now we're learning that things didn't quite work out that way. In fact, it's coming to light that the mayor of New Orleans and the governor of Louisiana have a lot to answer for.  And the facts are coming from a much-maligned source: former FEMA head Mike Brown.

Brown admitted yesterday that he should have sought assistance from the Pentagon sooner following Hurricane Katrina.  But never mind Brown...he was fired (oops...I mean "resigned') and has already paid the price for his performance.  But what he told Congress about the local officials down there in Louisiana is quite telling.

According to congressional aides, Brown said Nagin and Blanco "sparred during the crisis and could not work together cooperatively."  That's right...sparred.  Two Democrats, the mayor of New Orleans and the governor of Louisiana....not getting along.  Imagine that.  He also had quite a few things to say about Kathleen Blanco, who was apparently concerned about her political image.  He said she was indecisive and refused to cede control of the National Guard to the feds because "it would have undercut her image politically."

Will the state and local Democrats who botched the Katrina relief operation be hauled before Congress and made to answer for their incompetence, or will the media continue to shelter them and give them a pass? We'll see.

LOUIE'S CONSPIRACY

Calypso Louie continues to peddle his conspiracy theory that the levies were blown in New Orleans so that more black people could drown.  (Didn't know Dick Cheney could swim that well, did you?  And with aneurysms in both knees, no less!  That's some talented vice president.)  So what is Louie's latest?

Farrakhan says that divers working on the levees have found explosives from the government.  Louie said with great fanfare that if these allegations are true, "somebody is guilty, then not only of mass destruction of property, but of mass murder." My, my...you never knew Louis Farrakhan could be so concerned about private property, did you? Perhaps there is hope.

But now Louie the Lip is further cementing his status as America's preeminent race warlord.  He says that when New Orleans is rebuilt (with our tax dollars, of course,) that it will be "a white city."  Looking into his race hustling crystal ball, he predicts: "It will be rebuilt to the exclusion of the poor who have been dispersed all over the country." Here's a question for Minister Farrakhan: how do you rebuild a city and exclude poor black people?  What's a "white city?"

Things must be slow at the Nation of Islam. The most amusing part is that once his theory is disproved by the facts, you won't hear a peep from Calypso Louie.

I REALLY HIT SOME NERVES WITH THIS ONE

In the wonderful world of the American mainstream media there are a few hard and fast rules about reporting on and writing about the poor. 

1.  You never, ever say anything negative about anyone considered to be poor.

2.  You never even suggest .. not so much as a mere hint .. that the poor are where they are because of anything they might have done to themselves.  It is always the fault of society.

3.  You never suggest that the poor are in any way a burden on society.

Well .. it would seem that I have violated all three of these commandments ... and the "talk radio is hate radio" crowd are having a field day.  More on this tomorrow.

Bill Maher is losing his mind....he called First Lady Laura Bush "Hitler's dog." Nice going, Bill.  You're such a class act.  We all want to be like you. This ranks right up there with praising the 9/11 hijackers.

George Will picks apart the arguments of the Democrats who are opposing Chief Justice nominee John Roberts.  They don't seem to like people who can actually read the Constitution too much.

The controversy surrounding the federal response to Katrina is just the latest gotcha the liberals are trying to push on George Bush.  David Limbaugh says they seize on every little thing in trying to destroy his presidency.

"Conservative" Republicans in Congress have been loading up spending bills with so much pork that Bruce Bartlett can't take it anymore.  In fact, he recently testified in front of Congress about it.

Many people are becoming interested in self-defense and firearms following the lawlessness that happened after Hurricane Katrina went through.  Professor Mike Adams provides one reader with some advice.
