BROADCASTING TODAY FROM WALT DISNEY WORLD

Royal and I are bringing the show to you today from the studios located inside the Disney-MGM Studios at Walt Disney World in Florida.  We're here to participate in the grand opening of the Expedition Everest attraction at Disney's Animal Kingdom!  So ... if, by some chance, you just happen to be at the Disney-MGM Studios during our broadcast days today stop by and wave through the big window!  Royal's the good looking one.

HOW MUCH MORE BIZARRE CAN SHE GET?

Can you believe this?  The world of Cynthia McKinney gets even more bizarre.  Now she has a private bodyguard.  There are reports that he is a former Georgia State Trooper.  This man, whoever he is, has now been caught on video telling a reporter that he is going to "put his ass in jail."

A  reporter from Cox Broadcasting tried to ask McKinney about her grand jury testimony.  This bodyguard kept trying to shove the reporter out of the way.  The reporter was persistent, and the bodyguard finally told him "I'm going to put your ass in jail. I'm a police officer."  This one's on videotape.  There's no escaping it.  The Cox reporter asked him if he worked for the Capitol Hill police.  The bodyguard said "I work for Miss McKinney."

Capitol Hill police evidently are not amused.  Some are worried about what the bodyguard might do if Capitol police dare to faile to recognize McKinney at a security checkpoint.

I can hardly wait to see what this embarrassment to the State of Georgia comes up with next.

AND, COME TO SPEAK OF IT,  HOW MUCH MORE LOONEY CAN JIMMY CARTER GET?

Yesterday James Taranto's Wall Street Journal Online column carried an item about an article that appeared in Atlanta's Creative Loafing tabloid newspaper.  The article detailed an interview with former (thank God) president Jimmy Carter.  Read for yourself --- and stand back in amazement at the absurdity of this man who has never seen a dictator he didn't like; a man who once occupied our The Oval Office; a man whom the voters overwhelmingly rejected after just four years --- Jimmy Carter, our biggest national mistake:

I was teaching a Sunday school class two weeks ago," he recalls. "A girl, she was about 16 years old from Panama City [Fla.], asked me about the differences between Democrats and Republicans.

"I asked her, 'Are you for peace, or do you want more war?' Then I asked her, 'Do you favor government helping the rich, or should it seek to help the poorest members of society? Do you want to preserve the environment, or do you want to destroy it? Do you believe this nation should engage in torture, or should we condemn it? Do you think each child today should start life responsible for $28,000 in [federal government] debt, or do you think we should be fiscally responsible?'

"I told her that if she answered all of those questions, that she believed in peace, aiding the poor and weak, saving the environment, opposing torture . . . then I told her, 'You should be a Democrat.' "

Now come on, folks.  Does this sound like the type of reasoning you would expect out of someone who was once the President of the United States?  These are the ravings of a person incapable of rational thought.  Actually, this little story about Carter talking to a 16-year-old makes us shudder at the thought of how much more damage this man could have done while he was in the White House.  Now he seems to be quite blissful just spending his time running around the world looking for despots and dictators, like Hugo Chaves, to stroke.  Oh how we long for the Carter era of malaise and 21% interest rates, right?

Ok .. now let's turn Neal Boortz into a Sunday school teacher.

A young lady, she was about 16, approaches me in Sunday School and asks me about the difference between a Democrat and a Republican.  I asked her how much time she had. "Not much." she said.  "Keep it simple."

I asked her if she believed in the concept of individualism, and the right of an individual to live with personal and economic freedom.  Then I asked her if she would fight to defend those freedoms, or if she thought it would be better to live as a slave rather than fight. I told her that if she would fight for her freedom and the freedom of her family, then she should be a Republican.  If she would rather live as a slave, then she should be a Democrat.

I asked her if she believed that government should treat all citizens alike, or if she believed that government should take take stuff away from those who prosper because they work hard and make good decisions, and give that stuff to people who aren't willing to work hard and who put no thought into the consequences of the decisions they make.  I told her that if she believes in punishing behavior that improves our society and our economy, then she should be a Democrat.  But if she believes in rewarding the behavior that builds our economy and  enhances freedom and economic liberty, then she should be a Republican.  I fact, she should be a Libertarian.

Then I asked her if she believed that saving a life by force-feeding a person who is trying to kill themselves with a hunger strike is torture, then she ought to be a Democrat.  If. she believes that keeping that person alive is the right thing to do, even if it means making them eat, she ought to be a Republican.

I asked her if she believes that when the sun gets hotter the earth's atmosphere will get hotter also.  If so, she ought to be a Republican. If she believes that the sun getting hotter can't possibly be responsible for the temperature of the earth rising a degree or two, then she ought to be a Democrat.  If she believes that humans should be wiped off the face of the earth in order to save it, she ought to be a Democrat.  If she believes that mankind has a place on this earth she ought to laugh at Democrats.

Then I asked her if she thought that her child should start life owing about $28,000 to cover the debt of her government, then either the Democratic or the Republican party would work pretty well for her.  If she thinks that government ought to be limited and should cost a lot less, then it's time to look into being a Libertarian.

FEAR AND LOATHING OF A FOSSIL

Yesterday on the program I mentioned that scientists have discovered a fossil that seems to bridge the gap between creatures who lived in the sea and those who walked on land.  The fossil is something like 400 million years old.  I told my listeners that this fossil was going to cause no small amount of emotional distress among the creationism, intelligent design crowd.

Well ... sure 'nuff ... distress there was.  After being alerted by web guy (our email screener) I made a quick check of the Nuze email vault.  There are 25 email listed on each page, and last night there were nearly 70 pages of emails.  We're getting close to 2000 emails there.  I started scanning, and sure enough!  A huge portion of those emails were from people who were calling me everything but a child of God for my posting and comments about that fossil.  Amazingly, there were many emails from people who viewed a picture of that fossil and decided, based on their own scientific expertise, that the fossil simply did not show what the actual honest-to-goodness scientists said it showed.  Others, as I predicted, said it was a fake.  The dominate theme was that I could not possibly be a Christian and that I did not love Jesus because I didn't believe in a literal interpretation of the Bible.

What we're seeing here, of course, is the insecurity of the people writing these emails.  Something has happened that causes them to question what they have long believed.  Rather than try to reconcile the existence of this fossil, and what it shows, with their beliefs, they attack those who bring news of the fossil, and the fossil itself.

What a sad way to live one's life ... cringing in fear of the truth.

LIBBY ACCUSES BUSH

Well now...things just got really interesting in the trial of Scooter Libby. He apparently testified that he had the permission of President Bush to discuss Valerie Plame's identity with the media. There's really no evidence anywhere to support that, but will that even matter? Who needs evidence?  Yesterday Libby was the personification of evil to the Democrats.  Today, their savior?  The Democrats and the media are going to have a field day.

Libby claims that he was told by Cheney to pass on the information to the press. Apparently not satisfied with the request, he asked for and received the approval of President Bush to do the same thing. Is this a big deal? Complicated question, but we do know  It's fresh meat for the impeachment crowd.

Because Libby's indictment has nothing to do with leaking classified information. In fact, no one was ever charged with that. We don't even know if classified information was leaked?  Where has it been shown that Plame was actually an undercover operative at or near the time she was, as they say, "outed?"  Libby is on trial for perjury and obstruction of justice. There is no evidence any crime was committed in the so-called leaking of Valerie Plame's name.

THE GRAND IMMIGRATION COMPROMISE

It was announced yesterday that the Senate had reached a compromise on an illegal immigration bill. Bill Frist and Harry Reid lined up to announce their breakthrough. Among the details of the proposal: illegals could become citizens if they have been in the country more than five years, pay a fine, pay their taxes and learn English. Strangely, illegals that have been in the country less than five years would not be eligible.

So will this bill become law?

Nope....it's already bogged down and going nowhere. Why? Because it's an amnesty bill. Americans don't want amnesty...they want the illegals sent back and more prevented from coming. Poll after poll reflects that. There's just not going to be a bill that will pass that contains a guest worker program. Politicians are looking at Hispanic votes.  People are looking to politicians to follow the law.

This has to be said also:  If that law did pass, there is no way it could be enforced.  The illegals would simply keep doing what they've been doing.  Any punishment for people who hire illegals is mild, to say the least.

Once again:  (1) Punish those who hire illegals.  The punishment should be so harsh as to be an actual deterrent.  (2)  End social welfare services to illegals, including taxpayer-funded education.

They'll go home.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

Oh boy...the 2008 political party infomercials (that is, the conventions) are going to be held back-to-back. Will anyone even watch? Does anyone even care about political conventions and their total lack of suspense?

Charles Krauthammer has a different take on the problem of illegal immigration. He says it's time to erect The Great Wall of Mexico to keep out more illegal aliens....but at the same time, absorb the ones that are already here. Interesting take.

Victor Davis Hanson has a very interesting parallel story to the Cynthia McKinney drama. In 2002, a Vice Admiral tried the same thing at a security checkpoint at the Naval Academy...and wound up resigning. In other words, his bad behavior wasn't tolerated.

Once expected to cruise to victory in New York this fall, Hillary Clinton is suddenly having problems. But as Dick Morris reports, it has nothing to do with the opposition. It's Hillary vs. Hillary.

Some on the right think Tom DeLay was unfairly run out of the House leadership and ultimately his own re-election. But Debra Saunders is not one of them...she's glad to see DeLay go.

With all that the Democrats have accused Bush of doing of late, they're laying the groundwork for an impeachment trial. But David Limbaugh says they've been planning for that from the very beginning.

Oliver North takes on The Poodle's plan for our troops in Iraq and says Kerry's ideas are a disaster. Forget cut and run....Kerry wants to just quit.

Pat Buchanan says Kerry's views are all part of a calculated effort to swing to the left and try and deprive Hillary Clinton of the 2008 Democratic nomination.

Matt Towery is predicting that Cynthia McKinney will get the boot this fall...and lose re-election in her district. How can he be so sure, when they elected her in the first place? Read on.
