WHEN WILL WE FINALLY GET IT?
The leaders of some of the most powerful Islamic
governments in the world, all members of the 56-nation
Organization of the
Islamic Conference, have had a little meeting and decided to make some demands.
They want the U.N. to implement an
immediate cease-fire in
Lebanon (yeah, right) and then to investigate what they are calling flagrant
human rights violations by ..... guess who? Hezbollah? No .. Not
Hezbollah. After all, Hezbollah is only firing hundreds of rockets a week
into Israel trying to kill civilians. Nope. These grand Muslim
leaders want Israel investigated. For what? Defending itself? Israel steps forward to defend itself against the
Hezbollah raids and attacks and these Islamic goons issue a statement saying "We
hold Israel responsible for the loss of lives and suffering ... and demand that
Israel compensate (Lebanon) and its people for the losses sustained resulting
from Israeli aggression," What utter nonsense! My hope is that --- slowly but surely --- more and more
people are coming to the realization that there is a war going on here .. a war
between Western civilization and the darkness that is the Islamic religion.
Islamic radicals are feeling stronger with every sunset ... and we're still
sitting around listing to a lot of weird-beards call for cease fires and
investigations of Israel. MINIMUM WAGE BILL FAILS
Bad news for all of you
non-achievers stupid enough to try to raise a family on $5.15 an
hour...there will be
no increase in the minimum wage, at least for now. The
Senate bill that would have raised the minimum wage $2.10 over three years
failed by four votes. Oh well...such is life. The bill was tied to a cut in
the estate tax, which is why so many Republicans were for it.
But the bill should have
failed. Republicans who caved in on the minimum wage just to get the tax cuts
through are guilty of lacking principles. This includes the president. They
know that every time the minimum wage is raised, it kills jobs. They know that
it is not the role of the federal government to set wages. But yet, in a
foolish attempt to get what they want on one issue, they cash in their
principles on another.
What's more .. they
also know that there is absolutely no clause anywhere in the Constitution which
gives the federal government the authority to step into the middle of wage
negotiations between an employee and an employer. The federal government
derives its powers from specific clauses in our Constitution. If the
Constitution doesn't grant the power, the power doesn't exist.
So .. the Republicans
decide they'll go with bad policy to get something they want passed. Every
time Republicans do this, it leads to disaster. The theory seems to be that if
they compromise with the Democrats, they'll get what they want. But all you
have to do is look at George W. Bush's approval rating to know that it didn't
help that he worked with Ted Kennedy on 'No Child Left Behind.' Oh and
boy...weren't people impressed with that new prescription drug benefit for
Medicare? That did all sorts of good! Remember when Bush Senior worked with
Democrats on the 1990 budget deal raising taxes? It got him bounced from
office.
As for the Democrats, they
just couldn't bring themselves to vote for a bill that would raise the minimum
wage, since it meant cutting the death tax. Everyone should know that the more
you achieve in our society, the more you should be punished. Confiscation
of assets by the feds sounds so good to those steeped in class envy.
BUDGET
DEFICIT IN THE TRILLIONS
An interesting piece in
USA Today has been making the rounds lately. It points out the dirty little
secret in federal government accounting:
the yearly deficit figure is a lie.
In fact, instead of the 2005 federal budget deficit being $318 billion, it's
actually over 10 times higher. 3.5 trillion dollars, as a matter of fact. How
can this be? Read on.
The reason why is simple.
Congress and the White House do not include unfunded Social Security and
Medicare obligations in their accounting. Both of those programs are heavily in
the hole, but their deficit is not "paid for" out of the current federal
budget. Those programs' shortfall is just passed on down the line. Do you know
what would happen to the officers of a corporation who tried to pass off this
sort of accounting method in the real world? They would go to jail.
I've been telling you
folks this for decades on my show. Glad to see that someone at USA Today
just figured it out.
Year after year the government gets away
with it. Why? Because they get to make up their own accounting rules. The
White House uses the excuse that Congress could change Social Security and
Medicare benefits at any time, so their future cost shouldn't be included in the
present budget. Try that on Wall Street.
So what is the answer?
The answer is not, as the Democrats would have you believe, more revenue.
Whenever there's talk on the left about the deficit, it's almost always code for
tax increases. The answer is a better system of taxation that keeps the size of
government in check and removes power from Washington politicians and puts it
back in the hands of the people.
It's called the FairTax
plan...and it's catching on. If you haven't already, you should read up on it.
RUMSFELD GRILLED BY THE SENATE
Secretary of Defense
Donald Rumsfeld walked into the lion's den yesterday and
testified before the
Senate Armed Services Committee. [video & transcript] With the war very unpopular right now, there
were fireworks. Specifically,
The Hildabeast decided it was time to take
Rumsfeld to the woodshed, saying: "Under your leadership there have been
numerous errors in judgment that have led us to where we are. We have a
full-fledged insurgency and full-blown sectarian conflict in Iraq." Let's pick
this one apart.
Errors in judgment? You
bet. There have been numerous screw-ups by the Bush Administration in Iraq.
The decision to let looters run rampant after the invasion. Perhaps not enough
troops. Disbanding the entire Iraqi Army. That list goes on and on. But let's
focus on this business of the "insurgency." By the way, Democrats call the
Islamic terrorists in Iraq "insurgents." Small detail.
How in the world is Donald
Rumsfeld to blame for the insurgency? How could anyone have predicted that
Iran, Syria and Al-Qaeda would send Islamic terrorists to Baghdad to fight our
troops there? The answer, of course, is that no one could have and no one
really did. I suppose Hillary Clinton wasn't thinking of the insurgency when
she voted to invade Iraq all the way back in 2002.
So what does Rumsfeld
think we should do now? He says putting down the insurgency is the
responsibility of the Iraqi people. Senators didn't like that answer either.
What else do they expect? After all, these are some of the same politicians
calling for us to cut and run. It's the same story....they don't like the way
the Bush Administration is waging the war, but they have absolutely no idea how
to do it any better.
I HAD A FRIEND NAMED BILL CAMPBELL ....
... he used to rob, steal and gamble.
Those are the opening lines in a song by Johnny Cash.
You might not remember those lines, but the refrain is quite familiar.
"He's in the jailhouse now." Yup --- corrupt former Atlanta Mayor Bill Campbell has
been
denied an appeal bond after his conviction on tax evasion charges and soon
will be off to a federal pokey. Appeals bonds are rare in cases like this,
yet Campbell's friends are still expressing "surprise." Permit me, if I may, to suggest a reason why a judge might
not be friendly to the idea of an appeal bond for Campbell. Campbell and
his attorneys worked diligently for years to delay his federal trial on
corruption and tax evasion charges. The list of motions for this that and
the other thing .. including an endless parade of changes in counsel .. set the
clock back many months, if not years. Perhaps Judge Story just decided it
was time for Campbell to stop filing motions and start answering for his years
of corruption in mayor's office. GOLLY .. DO YOU THINK IT'S POSSIBLE THESE PEOPLE DON'T
LIKE ME?
Yesterday, for the umpteenth time in who knows how many
years, I let my feelings be known on the issue of the minimum wage ...
especially on the issue of sympathy for grown adults trying to raise families on
the minimum wage. You should have no problem understanding my position
here. If you are a grown adult in this country who is not suffering from
some hideous physical or mental disability, and you are trying to raise children
on the minimum wage, then you are a 100% pure unadulterated loser. I am so
sick and damned tired of all of these left-wing bedwetters and sympathy pimps
pissing and moaning over these people who have squandered their birthright that
I could just SCREAM! OK ... calm down Neal. At any rate, some left-wing, Democrat website posted my
remarks yesterday and asked for comments. I love it when they do that.
I'll know that I'm in trouble when they STOP posting things that I say on the
air and publish in the Nuze. So ... I thought you might like to read some
of the comments their readers made about sweet, little ole me! Here you
go: - Just another soulless conservative who believes poor
people are morally inferior to the rest of us.
- Careful Neal. Most of your listeners are probably
unemployed alcoholics who aren't even making minimum wage. Keep talking like
this and they might turn you off and start lookin' at teevee or beatin' the
dog or the ol' ball and chain.
- Even more important ...How many people does Boortz
employ at only minimum wage? Or even just $6/hour? At the very least, surely
some of his staff members must have held a minimum wage job at one point in
his life. And what about interns who earn nothing? Are they even more
incompetent, ignorant, etc.?
- They don't do well. Form what i hear..up here in
philly, average phone screener gets $8-$10 an hour on larger stations.
Producers, depending on their contracts, won't make that much more per hour if
they are not on air talent as well. Again this is just hearsay.
- Boortz is a classless piece of crap. These "worthless"
minimum wage earners are the backbone of the American economy and are the
people who clean bathrooms, make the fast food rich conservatives pick up in
their SUVs, stock grocery shelves, pick tomatoes that end up in our burrito at
Taco Bell, etc, etc. There will always be a demand for such positions that
will pay minimum wage. And yet Boortz has the audacity to label these
necessary workers as "worthless" and "trash"? I have worked two minimum wage
jobs and do not appreciate being denigrated by a punk, out of touch, fat,
white male with a microphone. Boortz can go f*** himself!!!!
- How sad. These people are to have such hatred and
contempt for the weakest among us. Boortz is the antithesis of everything
decent about being a human being, he truly embraces his darkness.
Throw me in the briar patch! Oh .. by the way. There was no small amount of
wealth-envy displayed on this website. I think wealth-envy drives the left
to a greater extend than any concern about the poor they're stroking all the
time. Claudia sends us this government school sign and says it's been up almost a week. Her comment: maybe they don't know how to spell orientation.

It has been announced that
Perky Katie Couric will feature commentary on the CBS Evening News
once she starts hosting.
Can you hardly wait? I'm sure it will be fair and balanced. Actually, it's
open to the public. That should be something.
A Texas court has ruled that Tom DeLay must stay on the ballot.
Democrats had wanted him to remain on the ballot, figuring they have an easier
chance of defeating him. But in a twist, DeLay says he might run if he remains
on the ballot.
Charles Krauthammer, one
of the biggest supporters of Israel there is,
says that country may be miscalculating on the importance of its war in Lebanon
with Hezbollah.
Krauthammer says Israel doesn't understand the ramifications if they lose the
war.
Up until recently, it
looked like the Republicans would hold onto the House and the Senate this fall.
But Larry Sabato and David Wasserman argue that time has passed
and things are shaping up for a Democratic blow-out in November.
The media's failure to
explain themselves over their coverage of the Qana incident shows that this is
being handled just like other alleged Israeli "atrocities."
David Warren says it will take several months for the real story to come out
, but don't expect the
liberal media to be there to report it.
A recent survey showed
that 80 percent of college faculties voted for Democrats in elections over the
last 10 years.
Debra Saunders asks the question: is it left-leaning bias that causes the
disparity or self-selection?
Larry Kudlow is a
supported of the war in Iraq and the president's policy in general,
but he wants to know where the congressional oversight is over Iraq war
spending. In
addition, he would like to know who is looking into the reports that some 10% of
Iraq's refined fuels are being stolen.
David Limbaugh notes the high number of people that seem to be willing to
appease Islamic
terrorism, rather than destroy it. He says some actually believe that our
opponents in the War On Terror are actually reasonable people.
Brent Bozell sticks up for Mel Gibson...sort of.
He says people coming down hard on the actor/director don't seem to have the
same outrage for similarly offensive statements against religion from others.
Oliver North has a message for those calling for peace in the Middle East:
there is no peace to keep. Also, North examines those who would ask what the
terrorists want in their war. Even though the media ignores it, what they want
is to eliminate America and Israel.
Who knew milk could be so funny? I wonder if amazon.com is amused. Al
Gore's Penguin Army...cute parody created by random person or
a
Washington lobby firm with Exxon as a client? Do you know where your viral
content is coming from? If PacMan is 64% violent, what would he be like at 100% violent?
Farkers are there to answer that question. |
