Vacation Pot Shots

Belinda must have run a tape of one of my previous shows where I discussed evolution vs. creation.   I can tell because of some of the email that Web Guy cleared into my mailbox yesterday afternoon.  So ... I'll tell you what.  Those of you who want to believe that the world is 6000 years old --- you just go on believing that.  There is nothing that is going to change your mind.  There are people today who do not believe that man landed on the moon, and there were people thousands of years after Copernicus who steadfastly held to their religious belief that the Sun revolved around the Earth.  One thing you can count on.  We're through discussing the topic.  If you want to hear that kafuffle again Belinda is going to have to drag out that "best-of" tape again.

Did you hear that Ethiopia is formally getting involved in the fighting in Somalia?  Yup! Add that one to your list of wars.  And just who is behind the fighting in Somalia?  Well, wouldn't you know it?  It's our peace-loving friends the Muslims!  It seems that everywhere you look in the world today, if you have people squaring off against each other with a lot of shooting and killing, you can just bet the ranch you're going to find peace-loving Muslims on one side or the other.

Think, for a moment, of the tragedy of people who got everything they wanted for Christmas.  Usually that doesn't work out all that well.

The judge has spoken, and Saddam is supposed to have his neck stretched within thirty days.  Sooner rather than later.  This is going to give the anti-death penalty crowd a mighty big world-wide stage for a few weeks.  People will be squawking who never had a thing to say about Saddam using WMDs to wipe-out tens of thousands of Iranians and Kurds. 

John Edwards is supposed to announce his candidacy for the Democratic nomination any day now.  He's going to make the announcement in New Orleans.  Isn't it ironic that a Democrat would announce for the presidency at the site of one of the biggest Democrat political failures in history?  I'm speaking, of course, of the failure of Democrat Ray Nagin, the Mayor of New Orleans, and of Democrat Kathleen Blanco, the Governor of Louisiana, to handle the Katrina disaster in anything closely approximating a responsible manner.  Oh .. and Edward is also announcing in the home district of Congressman William Jefferson, the Democrat who is on his way to an indictment.  Good venue, Senator Edwards!

OK .. I have to go off to a photo shoot for the cover of "Somebody's Gotta Say It."  Poor photographer.  I note that I'm No. 39,095 on the Amazon.com bestseller's list.  Well, considering the fact the book won't hit the stores for about seven more weeks, that's not all that bad.  You can order one today and get those numbers up for me though.  But first .....

Carrie Lukas says that if you want Peace On Earth, government isn't the answer.  I guess she just hasn't learned that government is always the answer!  Just ask anyone!

The rumors are growing that George (not a conservative) Bush is going to go along with the Democrats and nail us with a huge Social Security tax increase.  This editorial from the Wall Street Journal is a must-read.

Wow!  A new fat pill!  Isn't that great!  Now you may be able to lose weight without actually changing the sorry habits (overeating and no exercise) that got you there in the first place! 

The congress and George Bush have given the (probably gay) nut-case Fred Phelps just what he was looking for ... the recognition of having a federal law passed and signed to specifically address him.

Thomas Sowell asks a damned good question .... Can you imagine anything more dangerous than allowing politicians to decide how much money each of us can earn?

As mentioned in the Pot Shots ... Ethiopia gets involved in Somalia to help defend the Somali government from Muslim fighters.  Now we have a block of Muslim nations demanding that Ethiopia withdraw.  You gotta love this peaceful religion and the peaceful nations that practice it.

Victor Davis Hanson has a few things he wishes to get off his chest about Kofi (The Korrupt) Annan's farewell speech.

There's supposed to be a ceasefire with between the so-called Palestinians and the Israelis in Gaza.  Just the same, the Palestinians continue to fire rockets from the Gaza strip into Israel.  Jimmy Carter will tell  you that this is all Israel's fault.
