We'll see you live on the radio --  This coming Monday morning at 9:00!

AND YET ANOTHER VICTORY FOR ISLAMISTS IN WORLD WAR IV

In case you missed this, we heard from one of the EU commissioners yesterday about the great mad Muslim cartoon controversy.  It seems that the European Union is ready to consider some restrictions on freedom of the press.  Now, to be fair, they're referring to these new rules as mere guidelines and suggestions, but I think we all know what eventually becomes of guidelines and restrictions.  As soon as they get out of sight around the corner they become requirements and regulations.  The ultimate goal of the guidelines would be to prohibit newspapers in EU countries from printing material or images that would be offensive to the wonderful, peaceful religion of Islam.  So ... instead of trying to educate the Islamic world about the nuances of a free press, just start reigning in the media to please the Islamic world.  Make no mistake .. the mere suggestion by this EU weasel is a major victory for the Mad Mullahs and Imams who have been whipping their semi-literate herds into a frenzy over these cartoons.

By the way .. you do realize that these cartoons first appeared about five months ago, don't you?  And you do realize that they were also printed in an Egyptian newspaper.  Why the demonstrations now?  Why no demonstrations in Cairo?  Simple ... because this whole scene of "outrage" over these cartoons is being orchestrated by radical Islamic clerics to keep the West off guard and to further advance the Islamic jihad; and it's working better than they had ever hoped.

HERE WE GO WITH THE UNION PILOTS AGAIN

We'll find out soon whether or not that bankruptcy court judge is going to let Delta Airlines void their contract with the Delta pilot's union.  The union, as unions will do, is talking tough.  A Delta pilots union said "If our contract is rejected we will strike, and we will strike at a time and place of our choosing."

How brave!  How bold!  How typically union!  Your employer is fighting for its very life, and you're out there beating your chest and talking about strikes.

Remember, there is precedence for this.  It is quite likely that a pilot's union strike would destroy Delta airlines.  Would a pilot's union do this?  Hell yes they would!  Have you forgotten Eastern Airlines?  At Eastern you had the sad case of a union going on strike with the specific objection of destroying its own employer.  Those Eastern pilots wanted Eastern Airlines to fail, and they got their wish.  Some of those pilots never flew for money again ... a likely outcome that, if it were not for the union mob mentality, these pilots might have foreseen.

These Delta pilots need to ask themselves a question.  Are they professional, highly skilled pilots?  Or are they merely union laborers on a par with someone working an assembly line?  Are they individuals, or just part of a mob?

What do I think?  I don't think they're stupid enough to go on strike.  Maybe that's just wishful thinking.  They are, after all, union members.

IF THIS IS TRUE ... HOW SAD

I haven't seen these ratings myself.  This is something I heard over my earpiece last night while I was waiting for my 95 seconds of fame at Scarborough Country on MSNBC. [transcript should show up here later] OK .. so what did I hear.  Some (unidentified) guest was talking about American Idol.  He said that on the night of the State of the Union Speech American Idol, which was on the tube immediately before the speech, had an audience of 30 million.  That audience dropped to 9 million when the speech came on.  Know what? I can believe it.  In today's celebrity/jock-sniffing culture, I can believe it.  Sad, but probably true.

SCOOTER LIBBY BOMBSHELL?

It has been learned that Dick Cheney's' former Chief of Staff Scooter Libby, currently under indictment for lying to a grand jury, has said that his superiors authorized him to give classified information to reporters.  This was supposed to be part of the Bush administration's response to Joseph 'The Liar' Wilson's criticism of the intelligence used to invade Iraq.

A bombshell?  Not really.  For a couple of reasons. One, Scooter Libby is not under indictment for leaking classified information.  In fact, Special Prosecutor Fitzgerald didn't indict anyone for that.  There is, in fact, no real evidence that any classified information was leaked.  Scooter Libby was indicted for lying to FBI agents and to the grand jury. [pdf]  Second, it has never been established that any crime took place with regard to the leak.  Remember...what we know about Valerie Plame now is that she did not meet the definition of a covert agent.  You can't blow the cover of someone who wasn't undercover.

So Libby was told by his superiors to share Plame's name.  Big deal.  As long as no one told him to lie, Scooter Libby is up the same creek without the same paddle as he has been for the past several months.  The media and the left will try to use this to get Bush or get Cheney...but there's nothing to it.

FEMA AND KATRINA

Former FEMA head Mike Brown is ready to spill the beans on the whole Katrina mess.  He was going to keep his mouth shut if the White House told him not to talk and provided a lawyer...but they have not done that.  So now we get to hear all.  Brown says he wants all the facts to be public.  So here goes.  He's set to testify today in front of the Senate today, and it could be quite a bit of fun!

Some information is already coming out concerning the levies which broke and flooded New Orleans. The White House says it was caught by surprise when the levies broke...but there is information to the contrary.  There is no question that the government blew the whole operation, and Mike Brown was right at the head of FEMA.

As this story unfolds today we must not forget the complete incompetence of the government operations in New Orleans and Louisiana.  From Mayor Ray 'Chocolate City' Nagin to Governor Kathleen Babineaux Blanco...they screwed up big-time.  Will the Senate committee ask about the school buses that sat empty during and after the flood?  Will the mayor be grilled for waiting all the way until just before the hurricane hit to order an evacuation?  Will he be taken to task for sending people into the Superdome and the Convention Center, knowing there weren't adequate supplies there?  Probably not.  At this point, it's all about Bush.  For some the goal here is not so much to find out what went wrong with the local and federal government response to Katrina, but to pin the blame for the sloppy response squarely on George Bush.  Nagin, Blanco.  Both Democrats.  But everyone knows that Democrats care a lot more about the people than do Republicans ... so the blame just absolutely, positively be placed in the Republican White House.

REDNECK SCRAP BOOK

I'm guessing this mailbox is not going to cut it with the postmaster. More in the Redneck Scrap Book.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

The latest in political corruption from our friend from Alaska Ted Stevens and his bridge to nowhere.

Oops...another big-time Democrat has been caught with his hand in the Abramoff cookie jar.  Senate Minority Leader Harry Reid is admitting to helping Jack Abramoff's clients.  Even wrote personalized letters!  What was that, Senator Reid? Something about this being a Republican scandal?  Looks like you'll have to switch parties.

This is a bummer....Cindy Sheehan has announced that she will not challenge Diane Feinstein for her Senate seat in California.  That's too bad....just think of the entertainment value!

The peaceful religion of Islam has reared its ugly head again, this time in the form of another video from Jill Carroll.  She says we should do whatever her captors want and that she's running out of time.  At least she's still alive.

Venezuelan crazy Hugo Chavez calls George Bush a madman that will invade Iran.  Actually that wouldn't be a bad idea....but let's start with bombing the nuclear reactors first.

Things look to be in pretty good shape for Republicans in 2008.  Right now, Rudy Giuliani leads The Hildabeast by 11 points.  We'll take that!

The mainstream media here and abroad seems to be partially excusing the behavior of Muslim rioters in the cartoon rage incidents.  Charles Krauthammer says they're simply endorsing the goal of the mob without endorsing its means.

Now that Scooter Libby is back in the news, Byron York points out that Special Prosecutor Patrick Fitzgerald is choosing to leave some key questions unanswered.

David Limbaugh breaks down the shenanigans liberals pulled
when they hijacked Coretta Scott King's funeral.  He especially singles out Jimmy Carter.

If some believe the Christian Right is intolerant in this country, it's absolutely nothing compared to the Islamofascists that are setting up shop in Europe.  Mona Charen looks at a book on the subject.

The Democratic Party is a sorry mess and the latest actions of Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and the New York Times do nothing but support that statement.  Jonah Goldberg reports.

Oh my.  The life of an extremely fat, we mean HUGE, lesbian who doesn't want to pay for the space she occupies on a commercial airliner.
