There just may be hope for the American electorate yet. With George W. Bush down in the polls in his second term, you would think somebody on the Democratic side would ascend to the top of the heap. Only it hasn't happened. And a new poll shows just how much work Hillary Clinton has cut out for herself if she expects to occupy the Oval Office come January 2009. According to a CNN/Gallup poll...a majority of voters say there's no way they'd vote for Hillary Clinton for president. It's a slim majority, to be sure ... just 51% ... but it still doesn't speak well for the chances for The Hildabeast What about the other 49% Well, 32% say they might consider it, and only 16% are in the diehards camp...they'd definitely vote for her. This is all an encouraging sign. Have people finally figured out Hillary Clinton? Do they realize that she is a power-hungry socialist, willing to do whatever it takes to grab power? Have more Americans finally realized that Hillary holds most of the common-folk in absolute disdain? Do they realize that she is a liberal elitist who earnestly believes that she has a better handle on how we should live our lives than we do? Have they realized that she is fundamentally mean? Have they seen through her attempts to repackage herself as a moderate on issues like religion, terrorism, the military and illegal immigration? We can only hope so. She may have the '08 nomination sewn up, but Shrillary is far from a slam-dunk in the general election. Allah akbar.
I just love meddling in other people's affairs ... so stay tuned to this website. I've never written speeches for a president, though I have for a governor. So ... I'm going to give a shot to writing President Bush's State of the Union Speech for him. What fun! I'll try to have it posted at the beginning of the week.
OK .. so the driver wasn't at fault in that tragic dump truck-car-school bus accident yesterday. Seven children were killed. Seven. All in one car. The children were all the adopted children of one couple. Here's the kicker. The driver of the car .. .the driver of the car with six child passengers ... was only 15 years old. There were originally seven passengers. The 15-year-old had already dropped one off. Now it is true that the driver of the car ... the 15-year-old driver of the car ... did not cause the accident. The blame for the accident goes to the dump truck driver who smashed into the car while the car was stopped behind a school bus. No skid marks. The dump truck never hit the brakes. The point here is that if the 15-year-old were not driving these seven children may well be alive today. If an adult had been driving that car it is quite probable that something would have changed ... the time spent dropping that one child off .. the time spent loading the kids into the car ... a small delay in hitting the road ... a change in speed .... something would have changed to move that car out from between that truck and that school bus. Some adult made a choice to allow a 15-year-old girl drive a car with seven child passengers on an errand ... and all but one of those kids are dead. The tragedy gets worse ... much worse. Barbara Mann is the mother of these adopted children. When her father learned of the tragic accident he had a massive heart attack and died. Barbara Mann lost her children and her father ... and none of us can even begin to comprehend the sadness this woman feels. I can't help but wonder, though, how things might have been different if Barbara Mann had not let her 15-year-old daughter drive .... illegally.
By the way ... Richt is great guy. More power to him. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK What is it with rednecks and inappropriate loads? More in the Redneck Scrap Book. A gunman in California that held a hostage in a bank he was robbing was done in...by
his own filthy cigarette habit. SWAT offered him some smokes and he took the
bait...coming down to get the cigarettes by himself. Saddam Hussein is going to sue George Bush and Tony Blair for invading his country. He must've hired one of those TV lawyers that shows up on the tube in the middle of the night between reruns of 'Hogan's Heroes.' Hillary Clinton is blasting George W. Bush over the NSA wiretapping. She's right...but I wonder what she says when she's told her husband did the same thing during his years in the White House. LA Times columnist Joel Stein says he doesn't support the troops. At least he's being open and honest, unlike all of the other Democrats on the left who say one thing, but believe another. Former House Speaker Newt Gingrich is calling the crazy in charge of Iran 'the new Hitler.' Will the world do anything to stop Mahmoud Ahmadinejad? Did you know Tom DeLay builds homes for troubled parents with foster children? The mainstream media may hide the revelation...but George Will has a full report. Here's part 3 of Thomas Sowell's excellent series on political corruption. Once again, the real story isn't Jack Abramoff...it's what Congress is doing with your money and your children's money. The biggest issue facing Samuel Alito in the Supreme Court confirmation hearings was his stand on abortion. But nobody will ever confuse Ann Coulter's position...and she says the Democrats are trying to mislead people with theirs. | ||
