MEDIA COVERS FOR BIDEN

This is priceless. Delaware Senator Joe Biden, who, it appears, is running for president, appeared on C-Span's 'Road to the White House' program. This is where a camera follows around a potential candidate while he grips and grins with supporters at one event or another. They've done it for years and it gives you an idea of what the lengthy process of becoming president is like.

Drudge posted the video, and it shows the good Senator speaking to a supporter...evidently a man of Indian origin. Indian, as in...from India. Biden is shaking hands with the man, who tells him that there is more support to come from the Indian community. Then, the Senator actually said this:

"In Delaware, the largest growth in population is Indian Americans, moving from India. You cannot go to a 7/11 or a Dunkin Donuts unless you have a slight Indian accent. I'm not joking."

Oh yeah ... that worked.

There's always a problem when those darned cameras follow you around, isn't it? Now, let's see how much you read about this in the mainstream media. Except for Drudge, it isn't getting much play. This is because Biden is a Democrat and because the media favors Democrats, they'll let this one slide. Sort of like the time The West Virginia Grand Wizard used the N word on national television. A complete pass from the press. Imagine if Bill Frist or George W. Bush had made these comments. The firestorm would just be getting underway.

By the way, the Indian community was none too pleased with Biden's comments. The chairman of the Indian American Republican Council, himself a surgeon, responded with this statement: "It's amazing to know we don't all work at Dunkin Donuts or the local 7/11. The contributions to America by Indian Americans in the fields of medicine, education, science, and business have been well-documented."

Let's see if Biden is made to attend sensitivity training. I doubt it. But he won't show his face around his neighborhood 7/11 anytime soon.

NORTH KOREA TARGETS HAWAII

You know that Taepodong-2 ballistic missile North Korea fired the other day that we're being told was no big deal? Well, as it turns out, had it actually reached its destination, we would have had a problem. The target for the missile was none other than the U.S. state of Hawaii. The missile didn't make it that far, of course, because it malfunctioned and fell into the ocean.

Speculation is that North Korea targeted Hawaii because that's where the headquarters of the U.S. Pacific Fleet are. So what are we doing about it? Absolutely nothing. Speaking on Larry King last night, President Bush had this to say about North Korea, after being asked why he thought The Gargoyle launched the missile: "You know, I don't know. I really don't know. I think he wants us to either fear him or pay attention to him. And I view it as an opportunity." Strong language there Mr. President!

The president went on to say that the U.S. would push the other nations involved in the six-party talks to make Kim Jong-Il return to the table. In other words, our answer to the firing of a long-range missile aimed at the United States is...more diplomacy. Unbelievable.

Now ask yourself...what do you suppose would have happened if North Korea had set up a missile aimed at us and launched it during say....the Truman Administration? Kim Jong-Il and everybody involved would be enjoying their respective dirt naps right about now. But for some reason, here in 2006, we're not doing anything about it. It's one thing to lob a missile into the Pacific. It's quite another to launch that missile toward American territory.

At what point would we act? Just how deep is the hold that the peace-at-any-price crowd has in Washington?

LONDON BOMBINGS--1 YEAR LATER

It was 1 year ago today that Islamic terrorists bombed a bus and the subway in London, killing 52 people and injuring 700 others. But Great Britain's reaction to the terrorist attack is quite different than say....the surrender monkeys in Spain. While they recoiled in fear and elected an Al-Qaeda appeasing government, the UK didn't back down....and is back to business as usual.

And why is England so different in their reaction? Because they understand the enemy: Islamic terrorism. Day in and day out, throughout mosques in the Middle East, clerics preach death to countries in the West. Tony Blair knows this. That's why he has troops in Iraq, fighting in the war on terror.

Just like here...Islamic terror can strike at any moment. Al-Qaeda is organized all over the word with one goal: to kill innocent Americans, Brits and just about anybody else who opposes their hate-filled, radical Islamic ideology. So now, on the year anniversary of Britain's somewhat smaller 9/11, people should take note of the enemy, because they're still out there.

Too bad the Democrats in this country can't take a cue from their counterparts in the UK and take the war on terror seriously.

WELL-DESERVED SLAM

Have you noticed Neal Boortz's frequent use of uhs and ahs when he tries to get his brain in gear as to what he is going to say next? That drives me crazy!

No argument there. You think it drives YOU crazy? It makes ME crazier! I've even taken to posting little signs in the studio with the word "UH" in huge letters. If it drives this person crazy, how many more? Any suggestions?

CANADIANS GET ONE RIGHT

Oh Canada. Back in 2005 a Canadian man injured his buttocks after jumping off a ferryboat to get to his baseball game. Christie (Jay) Leggatt leapt off the Spirit of British Columbia last July because he "had this fantasy [he] could just jump off the ferry with [his] flotation devices, swim away and nobody would notice." Now there is a bright, ballsy move!

Soon after his "leap of faith," the ferry launched a rescue boat and alerted the Coast Guard, later catching up with Leggatt on shore. He was taken to the hospital to treat his tender behind. He, begrudgedly, missed his ball game.

Now, Leggatt has pleaded guilty to mischief. He has also been suspended indefinitely from B.C. Ferry vessels and is being forced to pay $1,392 to reimburse the ferry company for the money spent on his "rescue." Maybe Canadians got one thing right! The people must pay for their stupid mistakes rather than making the taxpayers pay for injury bills and rescue missions. Tell that to the next moron who gets on his motorcycle without a helmet. Regardless, my perfectly intact (and much smaller) buttocks goes out to this buffoon.

With North Korea's missile shenanigans playing out in the Pacific Rim, an editorial in the Washington Examiner asks an excellent question. Just where are the 'Star Wars' critics now? Not that long ago, many Democrats still in Congress were criticizing the missile defense program. Not so now.

This an interesting study. Researchers who examined tens of thousands of parking tickets from United Nations' diplomats found that those countries who hated America the most were the ones who paid their tickets the least. Countries who paid up completely: Japan, Canada, UK and the UAE.

Kowabunga! University of Colorado Nutty Professor Ward Churchill is appealing his firing. But he'll have to do a lot of appealing to erase the charges of plagiarism and pretending to be a fake Indian (that's not really a charge, just one his many shortcomings.)

Football great Lynn Swann has now put himself in the crosshairs of the left. Running as a Republican for the governor of Pennsylvania, Swann has dared to suggest that welfare recipients should have to work. Imagine that! Let's all get together and start the "Uncle Tom" chants now!

The Supreme Court has ruled that Guantanamo Bay Islamic terrorists have to be tried in our courts or set free. Charles Krauthammer says that's all fine and dandy, but we're still fighting a war...and Al-Qaeda is out there.

Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman had his debate last night, and he came out swinging against the leftist trying to take his Senate seat away. And proving that he's a stand-up guy, Lieberman did not run away from his support of the war in Iraq. Is there a Democrat I would vote for? This man comes as close as any.

With 2008 just around the corner, Mark Davis can't wait to start handicapping the race. Conventional wisdom has John McCain in the lead, but people shouldn't write off former New York Mayor Rudy Giuliani.

Rich Galen takes a look at our history of appeasement with North Korea and compares it to similar outcomes throughout history. It turns out pretty much the same thing happens over and over when you try and appease tyrants. Jimmy Carter wouldn't enjoy this column.
