Oh .. one more thing. How long before the media and the Democrats try to tie this character to George Bush? Bush is, after all, an evangelical.
Democrat Party disdain ... bordering on outright dislike ... of and toward our men and women in uniform is what pounded me back into reality earlier this week. John Kerry made his insipid remarks about soldiers in Iraq and Democrats, by and large, remained silent. Harold Ford stepped up, and perhaps one or two others, but by and large Democrats were content to let Kerry make yet another in his long string of remarks denigrating our military without condemnation. Kerry's remarks served to remind me also of the Democrat's penchant for trying to suppress military votes. Sadly, too few Americans remember that in 2000 Al Gore and the Democrats sent hoards of lawyers to Florida during the recount debacle. These particular lawyers were charged with one responsibility. They were to fan out to every single voting district in Florida and do everything they possibly could to make sure that military absentee ballots were not counted in the election. Funny, isn't it, how the media doesn't seem to be too eager to remind us of this attempt at voter suppression. But let the Republicans support the idea of a voter proving his identity at the polls and all media hell breaks out. Well ... here we go again. New Jersey Democrat Congressman Rush Holt has fired off a letter to Donald Rumsfeld challenging a Pentagon program that allows service members to request and submit ballots in the upcoming election via fax or email. Holt, wanting to appear as if he's actually trying to protect our troops, says the system could expose them to identity theft. Yeah ... right. Democrats know that military personnel are more likely to vote Republican than Democrat. They also know that there is a wave of anger in the military over Kerry's remarks. Time to get out there and make sure those military votes don't count .... again. Sure ... many conservatives are fed up with the Republicans big-government and big-spending habits of the last six years, but that's not the primary factor driving the Democrats to victory -- at least in the House -- next Tuesday. The biggest reason that Democrats will do so well next week is because they offer Americans security rather than liberty. Many - perhaps a majority - Americans do not love freedom. These people are not willing to embrace freedom it if means accepting the responsibilities of being an adult in a free society. Democrats know this .. and they provide the alternative. In a freedom-loving country Democrats with their womb to tomb paternalism wouldn't stand a chance.

READING ASSIGNMENTS The president of Iraq says U.S. troops should stay in his country 3 more years. He says this should be done to give authorities time to build up the Iraqi security forces. I'm afraid he's just a bit too optimistic there...he may have a year...two at the most. Barack Obama is a rising star in the Democratic Party...and many have begun to predict what his chances might be in the 2008 presidential race. But columnist Stanley Crouch isn't among his fans...he says people make get the wrong idea about what Obama represents. Government scientists are complaining that they were muzzled by the White House over their views on global warming. They claim they were censored. Just because somebody doesn't want to hear what you have to say doesn't mean you aren't free to say it. Proving once again that Great Britain is full of plenty of Euro-weasels, a poll shows that 75% of Brits believe U.S. President George W. Bush is more dangerous than North Korea's Kim Jong-Il. On a positive note, Osama Bin Laden scored higher, at 87%. Score one for the Israeli security forces: Islamic terrorists were holed up in a mosque in Gaza. A group of women decided they would enter a mosque and use themselves as human shields to protect the terrorists. Bad move...Israeli soldiers opened fire on them anyway. Republicans have gotten a late election-season gift from the Democrats....John Kerry's statement about U.S. troops being in Iraq because they were too dumb for college. The base has been energized by The Poodle's comments, which will increase turnout. Oops. Charles Krauthammer says O.K., so what if the Democrats gain 20 seats and take over the House. Will such a victory be historic? Nope...the columnist says it's not historic. In fact, he says it's normal. Since World War II, the average loss in a second-term presidency in its sixth year is 29 House seats. Larry Kudlow is optimistic about the tax climate no matter who takes over the House. He says Democrats are promising to use tax increases as a last resort and want a balanced budget. Republicans seem to get the tax issue, but are MIA on a balanced budget. John Kerry's ridiculous statement about studying hard so you could stay out of the war in Iraq just shows what Democrats really believe, says Rich Lowry. It's classic Kerry...and he's learned nothing from the Swift Boat attacks in the 2004 election. Thomas Sowell says you can't discount the role of the media in next Tuesday's elections. The press is so biased against Republicans and for Democrats that they've almost become like a candidate in the whole process. Sowell also weighs in on Kerry's controversial statement this week about the troops. The President of the University of Pennsylvania has a Halloween party. That's nice. Perhaps you'll think this picture of her posing with someone dressed up as a suicide bomber is nice also! Do you think she would pose with someone dressed as Hitler? What happens when you mix the Super Friends cartoon with audio from Office Space? Hilarity, that's what. [PG language] The Washington Post maintains a nice database that lets you browse the voting record since 1991 of the members of Congress. A study shows people trust attractive people more, but also have higher expectations of them. | ||
