Thursday, November 30, 2006 So the
Iraq Study Group, a panel put together to look for options in Iraq,
is set to recommend a gradual withdrawal of troops from that country. Well
excuse me, but wasn't that the plan all along? If you were watching CNN
this morning you would think that this was the first time that anyone had
ever even suggested that at some point we would want to get our troops out
of Iraq! The cut and run crowd will see things differently, of course. If
you remember, this group is headed by former Secretary of State James Baker,
who served in the Bush Senior Cabinet.Expect the Left to grab onto this group's report as an endorsement for cutting and running. See...even this bipartisan group wants a "phased redeployment" (Democratic code-phrase for 'surrender'.) Victory is not, nor was it ever, in the cards for the Democratic Party in Iraq. Their entire plan for political success is based the demonization of George Bush and sabotaging our war on Islamic fascism.. Really, there are only three options for Iraq. We can get tougher, send more troops, seal the borders with Iran and Syria, and win the damned thing. We can stay the present course, which doesn't seem to be working al that well, or we can cut and run. Despite the best efforts of politicians, there really is no in between. Get ready America...the president of Iran, Mahmoud Ahmadinejad (isn't
cutting and pasting great?)
has written you a letter this holiday season.
But you may need to set aside some time to read it...it's 5 pages long. But
we're going to break it down for you in a bit more concise matter. The letter is addressed to "Noble Americans." How nice...see...the president of Iran likes us! Warms my heart. As it turns out, Ahmadinejad doesn't think the American people support the Bush Administration. Said Mahmoud: "Undoubtedly, the American people are not satisfied with this behavior and they showed their discontent in the recent elections. I hope that in the wake of the mid-term elections, the administration of President Bush will have heard and will heed the message of the American people." There you have it...it looks like the Democrats have the president of Iran on their side! But then Ahmadinejad went off the deep end, going into a rant about America's support of Israel and the injustices against the Palestinian people. Oh, and don't forget that the Holocaust was a myth...and he also wants you to know that he supports the terrorist groups Hamas and Hezbollah. So much for the warm and fuzzy letter. But in reading the letter, one thing strikes you just a bit. It sounds awfully similar to the rhetoric that came out of the likes of Howard Dean, Nancy Pelosi and Harry Reid during the recent campaign. Very interesting.
I know that many of your liberals out there are still basking in the glow of the new Democrat control of the Congress and the ascendancy of Nancy Pelosi to be the Speaker of the House. I trust you won't find it too disconcerting if I let you know when Pelosi lies. After all, you have made quite an effort over the past six years of pointing out when Bush lies, haven't you? So .. here you go. Yesterday Pelosi had this to say about the president's statements that Al Qaeda was involved with the insurgent violence in Iraq. She said that she is "sad" that the president still thinks Al Qaeda has anything to do with the violence. Then she added: "My thoughts on the president's representations are well-known, the 9/11 Commission dismissed that notion a long time ago and I feel sad that the president is resorting to it again." Small problem here. The 9/11 Commission never issued any finding whatsoever saying that Al Qaeda was not involved in the insurgent violence in Iraq. Pelosi made this up. Hope you don't mind me pointing this out to you.
THEN: A police officer bought drugs
in Kathryn Johnson's home earlier in the day. THEN: The informant was a highly
reliable police asset in the war on drugs in Atlanta. THEN: The police found narcotics in
the home. THEN: The police had a no-knock
search warrant. Don't get me wrong. I love the police. I know full well that the cop giving me a ticket for using the HOV ramps at Lindburg and 85 would be the cop standing between me and someone with a gun. What I'm trying to get across here is that this whole tragedy took place because of our idiotic war on drugs. As long as we insist on wasting billions of dollars treating drugs as a law enforcement problem we're going to have tragedies like Kathryn Johnson's death in cities across the nation. Last night in Orlando they had a little drive-by shooting. About 50 bullets were pumped into a house. One woman, a visitor from out of state, died. What do you want to be we'll find out at some time that this was about drugs? REDNECK SCRAP BOOK This phone will match any redneck's decor. More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS Michael Richards is a Jew? Well, wishing it doesn't exactly make it so. Hey, doesn't the High Priest of the Church of the Painful Truth need a Gulfstream too? Benny Hinn might be on to something. Do you have trouble with people being afraid of your scary Doberman dog? Maybe you need one of these. | ||
