U.S. Sen. Saxby Chambliss (R-GA), U.S. Rep. John Linder (R-GA), U.S. Rep. Tom Price (R-GA) and Ken Hoagland of Americans for Fair Taxation will hold a news conference and rallythis morning , Tuesday, April 3, at 10:30 am to announce that they have re-introduced the FairTax in both the U.S. Senate and U.S. House. Here's the location!
We'll talk to Senator and Chambliss and Congressman Linder before the rally and will get an update from Herman Cain when the dust dies down! Now ... speaking of the FairTax. I had another book signing for Somebody's Gotta Say It last night at Books-a-Million at the Discover Mills shopping mall. Once again, as in virtually every previous book signing event, I signed no less than one copy of The FairTax Book for every three copies of Somebody's Gotta Say It. This tax reform plan has captured the imagination of the American people from coast to coast. Every member of congress knows that he or she is going to get questions about the FairTax when they hold a town hall meeting (unless, of course, they carefully restrict attendees in the manner of Hillary Rodham). We're now receiving reports that at some town hall meetings aids for the elected officials will ask for questions or comments on "anything other than the FairTax." We can get this done. It won't happen in a year, nor in two years. It took eighty years for our politicians to make the mess out of our tax system that we have today. The income tax has momentum ... it won't be sidelined overnight. Implementation of the FairTax would be the largest transfer of power from the political class to the people in the history of our Republic. These people don't willingly surrender that much power. It has to be taken from them. It's the FairTax that is gradually gaining strength -- not the opposition. Don't give up.
Well ... it looks like Bush may actually deliver on his promise to veto the Democrat's surrender legislation, so Harry Reid wants to up the ante, along, of course, with the eager help of John Kerry and Russ Feingold. The next step is to pass a bill just simply cutting off funding for our troops. Just force the commander in chief to bring them home because he no longer has the funds to continue operations. There are so many things wrong with the actions of the Democrat Party on so many levels. Showing weakness to our Islamic fascist enemies is one thing. There will be a price to be paid for this ... possibly a horrible price. Never fear, though. When the Islamic fascist terrorist move to take advantage of our weakness the Democrats, with the eager help of the media, will sidestep any responsibility by simply blaming Bush. We're not the only ones being target by the Islamic terrorists. Although Shiites comprise a minority of Muslims, they're a strong majority in Iraq. If the United States leaves before the Iraqi government is stabilized and the Shiites and Sunnis have come to an accommodation to life together in peace, there will in all probability be a Sunni bloodbath --- followed by Iraq becoming the center of Islamic terrorism. The constant leftist Democrat drumbeat of criticism against Bush and the Iraqi front on the war against Islamic fascism has worked. Americans no longer recognize the threat we face. It's been over five years since 9/11 .. and most Americans now view terrorism as a law enforcement problem. We are going to pay a price .. and it will be a horrible one. The question is whether or not we will be able to respond ... even, and it's no certainty, if the American people even want to. When Islamic terrorists strike American again we might just have to sit back and take it without any military response. After all ... if we go after the Islamic terrorists we may kill women, children and innocent civilians. We can't have that, can we? America must surrender to the Islamic jihad if to fight means that innocent civilians might die!
Public financing of
campaigns is a terrible idea whose idea should never come. But like all of her
other schemes, Hillary Clinton wants to reach into your pocket and pay for her
ideas. Oh .. one more thing. I may be wrong -- often am! -- but didn't Hillary recently announce that she wouldn't be accepting matching federal funds for her presidential campaign? Must have been some sort of a slipup. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK I think Jed Clampett would be proud to ride on this motorcycle. More in the Redneck Scrap Book. READING
ASSIGNMENTS
Some in the Senate
say they want to get rid of the Alternative Minimum Tax.
Even some Democrats support the idea, but Herman Cain says don't be fooled.
Politicians actually have no intention of getting rid of the AMT, much less
shrinking the tax code. | |||||
