THANKS, FAYETTEVILLE

Royal and I really enjoyed our book signing last night at the Books-A-Million in Fayetteville, NC. Another great crowd, and we want once again to tell you how honored we are that you came buy to see us. We were amazed and the number of people who drove in from Charlotte, Raleigh and Wilmington. Y'all should have carpooled. You could have saved some big bucks.

We do today's show from the studios of 640 WFNC and then it's off to the Ft. Bragg PX for our final schedule "Somebody's Gotta Say It" book signing.

ONE MORE TO GO ....

And this one is very special. This evening at 6:00 Royal and I head to Ft. Bragg for our final scheduled book signing. We'll be at the North Post PX. Ft. Bragg is the home of the 82nd Airborne and our U.S. Army Special Forces. Hopefully I don't need to tell you what these men and women have been doing for us in the global war on Islamic fascism. It will be an honor to sit there and sign books as long as there are books to be signed.

EUROPE IS BEATING THE UNITED STATES AT WHAT? YOU'RE KIDDING, RIGHT?

For those of you who have dedicated your leisure time and thoughts to American Idol, this will mean absolutely nothing to you. Thankfully most of the people who listen to the show and read Nealz Nuze care about more things than whether or not that weird kid is going to ruin the competition.

There was an amazing story yesterday that got absolutely no traction whatsoever, though it should have. The Financial Times reported that for the first time since before World War I ... that's World War I, not World War II ... Europe passed the United States in the total value of all of the outstanding stocks in domestic stock markets. The Financial Times reports that some of the factors that are contributing to Europe's emergence as the world's leading capital marketplace are the rise of the Euro against the Dollar, the growth of East European markets and increased profitability of European corporations.

One of the driving factors here is the profitability edge the European corporations have because of the difference in tax structures. The United States punishes corporations through its tax system, while many European nations create a much more favorable tax climate. There is a reason why Chrysler moved to Europe when it merged with Daimler instead of Daimler moving to America. I've seen research which shows that the tax treatment operating out of Germany created an 14% advantage.

Now I know that many Americans .. perhaps most ... just love to hear their politicians talking about taxing businesses and corporations. After all, they think, every dollar of taxes these corporations pay will be a dollar we don't have to pay. Those of you not educated in government schools will know this to be a fallacy. Taxes, among other things, roll downhill. Every single penny of taxes paid to the Imperial Federal Government of the United States by businesses and corporations are rolled down the money line to the ultimate consumer; and the ultimate consumer is the individual. Everything you buy in the retail marketplace contains that embedded tax ... averaging about 22%.

OK ... this brings us to the FairTax, and now you see another reason why we need this tax reform now and not later. For those of you new to the FairTax and to Nealz Nuze, I'm not going to explain this tax reform plan right here. You can read about it at the website for Americans for Fair Taxation, or you can click here to order The FairTax Book from Barnes & Noble. com. When the FairTax is implemented America becomes the world's number one tax haven for business as well as for individuals. Businesses large and small will be able to operate in America with absolutely no federal tax component on capital or labor. Business leaders around the world have made it clear that if the United States were to implement the FairTax they would immediately make plans to locate their next manufacturing plant, distribution center or production facility right here -- right here in the U.S.

Right now we have a political party running the Congress that is dedicated to the cause of raising taxes on both businesses and business owners. The Democrats are determined to preserve their control of the Congress ... and the way to do that is to buy enough votes - to make enough people dependent on them and their government - that losing control would be next to impossible. To do that the Democrats need money. Lots of it. They will gladly sacrifice the dominance of America in the world of free enterprise in order to maintain that power.

Those of you who have any problem whatsoever with the emergence of Europe as the world's leader in business might want to get on board. Click here to sign the FairTax petition. We're trying to get 100,000 signatures by tax day. Learn about the FairTax. Study the website, read the book. Talk to your elected representatives. Tell them you are not only familiar with the FairTax, but you are also familiar with the lies being told to discredit the idea. Become proactive. America deserves to be number one. With our current tax system we're going to lose that race.

SELF-SERVING EMAILS

Oh come on. Stop the groaning. If you can talk some other media outlets into saying something nice about "Somebody's Gotta Say It," I'll stop. Until then, I'll toot my own horn. Some of today's emails!

I never heard of you before, or even your name. I was looking for a book that can keep my interest for longer then a chapter. The title of your book caught my eye, and as I started reading the introduction I thought to myself..."Please do not let this be another sugar coated political book" and it wasn't, not by a long shot. Keep in mind, as you are reading this, I am a Republican, 30 year old single mother of 2, Born Again Christian (no, not a "holy roller"). I strongly believe in seperation of church and state. I couldn't agree with you more on what you say about forced prayer in school..I'd be the first parent at my kids' school (to which is a public one) if they tried to pull that! I am ANIT-Liberal as much as one can be and in reading your book (I'm not done yet, but enjoying it, even some things I disagree with but thats what makes it a GOOD book) it was refreshing to hear "them" painted as true as you did in your book. Thanks for not sugar coating that! Anyways, it took me a minute of reading to decide to buy the book. It's hard to put it down! I guess, I just wanted to think you for writing the truth without being "nice" about it!

I plan to forward it off to my friend, the "Pro-Hillary" one!

I just bought your book " Somebodys gotta say it " three days ago and I am already finished. I couldn't put it down, great read ! although I might not totally agree with a few things I do agree with you on most. I have never heard of you before until I found this book. I live in omaha nebraska, do you know of any way I could get your show in this area. I would be honored to listen and promote it. Please get back to me and please keep writing. I really like reading your books. Hats off on your views to change our education system to include free market competition, that sank in the most. I will let you go and look forward to a reply soon. Thanks, Paul

Dear Neal: I just finished your book "Somebody's gotta say it". It was a great read but the chapter on "Catchin Cats" had this 75 year old laughing so haard tears were coming out of my eyes. When you got to the sheriff showing up on the day of the GA Championship I almost fell out of my chair laughing. It sure made my day, I enjoy your show. Keep up the good work. BM

HOSTAGES TOUCH DOWN IN LONDON

The hostage situation has come to an end in Iran, with the president of Iran "pardoning" the 15 kidnapped British soldiers that should have never been taken anyway. Unbelievably, Tony Blair announced that he was relieved and he bore no ill will toward the Iranians. Talk about looking weak. Not sure what Ahmadinejad would have to do to create ill will between Great Britain and Iran. The sucking up to Islamic terrorists in the UK continues.

Now it's one thing to pursue diplomatic discussions over a crisis, but Blair's response is typical of the attitude in Europe against Islamic terrorists. When the whole thing went down, the most forceful statement out of 10 Downing Street was that the prime minister was concerned. Concerned? A terrorist state that is supporting the insurgency in Iraq that is killing British troops just committed an act of war by kidnapping 15 soldiers and this was all the outrage he could muster? Come on, Tony. Those Islamic pigs are just years away from nuclear weapons!

Pay attention to the media here. Note that the America-hating international press is praising the "savvy" Ahmadinejad and the generosity of the Iranian people. Not a peep from the media about Iran's violation of the Geneva Convention in parading the soldiers on TV. Apparently only the United States violates the Geneva Convention. In another age and another time, Tehran would have been bombed back to the stone age for what they did. Instead, the policy of appeasement rolls on. But it's good news the soldiers are back home.

We will pay for this show of weakness ... big time. I guess there is a chance we're going to take some action after the fact ... but I doubt it.

JIMMY CARTER SUPPORTS PELOSI TRIP

Jimmy Carter has come back out of the woodwork to announce that he supports Nancy Pelosi's trip to Syria...despite calls from the White House not to go. Of course all of this is familiar to Carter...he goes and visits America's enemies and tyrants around the world regularly. Visiting Bashar Assad is small potatoes for Carter...he's clinked champagne glasses with Fidel Castro and Kim Jong-Il, among others.

Says the former president "I was glad that she went. When there is a crisis, the best way to help resolve the crisis is to deal with the people who are instrumental in the problem." Right...deal with them. We all know how well Jimmy handled the last Iranian hostage crisis, don't we? Apparently in Carter's world, the best way to deal with those who are causing a crisis is to appease them. But the White House is having none of it. Said President Bush in the Rose Garden: "Photo opportunities and or meetings with President Assad lead the Assad government to believe they're part of the mainstream of the international community when, in fact, they're a state sponsor of terror." Exactly. Syria is responsible for re-supplying the insurgency in Iraq and the death of American troops.

But all of this is no problem for Nancy Pelosi. There's also some whispering that the Pelosi visit might have had something to do with the freeing of the 15 British soldiers. They wish. So what's next for Nancy Pelosi? Perhaps there are other American enemies she could visit with. There's always The Gargoyle. Maybe Osama has time on his schedule for tea with Madame Speaker.

The Democrats have their panties in a knot in Washington because President Bush

has named a certain somebody to be the ambassador to Belgium. Why all the fuss? Because the recess appointment is of a man who supported the Swift Boat veterans against John Kerry in 2004.

Former Speaker of the House Newt Gingrich is backpedaling over his comments

earlier in the week that bilingual education was the language of the ghetto. He called it a poor choice of words and even said he is trying to learn Spanish. Oh well.

Al Gore was booed and heckled at a Canadian university

over his global warming hypocrisy. Specifically, some students interrupted his presentation by calling him a liar and asking him about his swimming pools. Priceless...and it happened in Canada.

George W. Bush said yesterday he realizes the American people are war-weary,

but also said terrorists are pure evil. He also warned against setting a timetable for surrender in Iraq. At least somebody still thinks terrorists are evil.

A man in Sacramento was arrested for shooting a teenager who was trying to steal his car.

Why did he shoot the kid? Because he was protecting his private property from somebody trying to steal it. Not allowed, say the police. They say deadly force is never justified to protect your property.

Victor Davis Hanson comments on the Iranians' behavior in taking 15 British Sailors hostage and answers the question of what should be done in retaliation.  Hanson says the reason Iran did what it did was to try and boost its popularity in the Islamic world.

Ann Coulter takes on those who think we should be sending troops to Darfur.  For what?  What threat does Darfur pose to the United States?  This is the same logic the Left uses when it talks about sending troops to Iraq.  Always entertaining and always controversial.

Robert Novak is scolding the White House for missed opportunities for peace in the Middle East between Israelis and Palestinians.  Evidently the Israelis aren't too interested in sitting down at the table and neither is the Bush Administration.

Gas prices are heading up, just like they do every summer.  George Will reports on the media's yearly drumbeat about soaring gas prices and says it's like a broken record.  He also notes that people aren't changing their driving behavior because of it.
