WRONG AGAIN

I just can't seem to get these things right.  On today's show I said that CBS would fire Don Imus by 5:00 tomorrow.  Well .. I was wrong.  CBS couldn't stand up to the pressure from race warlord Al Sharpton.  CBS has now announced that Imus has been fired.

This afternoon I'm getting many requests for interviews .. newspapers and on television.  Thanks but no thanks.  I'll continue to say what I have to say about this on the air and here in Nealz Nuze.  I am operating under the assumption that the mainstream media has been emboldened by Sharpton's victory here ... and the attack on talk radio has just begun.  So ... until tomorrow morning perhaps you would like to enjoy some of the emails we've been getting!

Message:
I think that liberals will come after you next. One you broadcast from the south. After all most Racism, Bigotry, Prejudice, Discrimination and, Narrow-mindedness are according to some liberals best known and practiced in the south. Two you boldly practice the first amendment to the United States Constitution. Third you support the Fair Tax which set "their people free" from their dependence on the Federal Government.

Also the Fair Tax will stop the Tax and control that liberals Crave, hunger after, yearn for and, require. Last you are a libertarian. You are therefore a greater threat to liberals than conservatives are. As one of the spokes persons for the Libertarian cause or movement you should be the next to go.
Message:
Your survey is an interesting one. It seems the majority think they will go after the Big Kahuna. Personally, I think they go for the easy target--Michael Savage. While I may agree with many points he makes, he throws a lot of unnecesarry verbal bombs. However, Neal, gird up! It would be no surprise if they make you, Laura Ingraham or Mini-Savage (Mark Levin) the target thinking you are "minor players" that they can use to damage conservatism. While you would waste Olberman, Paulairhead Zahn or any of the other liber-lemmings in a fair fight, the mainstream media coverage will not be fair or balanced. Imus-gate may be just the opening the Left needs to launch their attack on talk radio. It doesn't matter that Imus is a Big Lib. He has major political enemies on that side who have never forgiven him for his shots at Clinton at the infamous dinner. It will not be relevant that Sharpton and Jackson have actually gotten people killed with their rhetoric. Four legs good, two legs bad. Logic and reason will have a hard time winning the day.
Message:
You are a f---ing a--hole and a liar. You are a hateful bastard that needs to be tied to a stake and burned alive.
Message:
You are correct. The conservitive "Talk radio show hosts" are being set-up and picked off-one by one. If it were not for Don Imus, you would be my favorite talk show host. Admittedly, Imus is an acquired taste--such as strange cheese and ouzo. But once one is tuned-in, he is straight on the mark. A bit like "Some Ones' Got to Say It."  Imus is pretty much gone. The next one they will be after is Rush. And the next is. . . be afraid, be very afraid. Jessie said this morning "I want to "detoxify" the public airwaves. And we both know what that means. Hang in there and keep-up the good fight. Until Imus comes back, you are my favorite Talk Show host.
Message:
I am 21 and graduating from the University of Florida this December. Your book has proved to me how the government is out of control and proved my suspicions right that the Democrats will cripple this country. I am watching Neil Cavuto on Fox News right now interview Senator Menendez speak about the subprime mortgage problem. He says the government should bail out the subprime borrowers because its not their fault they could not make well informed decisions and to quote "its not about the individual." Unbelievable! You have affirmed my belief that in order for anything to get better in this country we need intelligent officials to take charge and I hope I can achieve that by pulling government back from the backs of the American people. Thank you.
Message:
Today, it's Imus. You're next racist/bigot man.
Message:
Don Imus is gone, your next! Sweet!

BLOOD IN THE WATER

Liberals see this whole Imus situation as a way to rid themselves of the problem of talk radio. Now that they've succeeded in getting MSNBC to pull Imus' program, they'll concentrate on CBS .. trying to get the radio show cancelled. At this point I wouldn't be surprised if they succeed. Then they will turn their attention to the rest of us. The tape recorders will be running. There is not one single significant right-of-center radio talk show out there that is not going to come under fire. Liberals know -- they've proven it to themselves -- that they simply cannot succeed in talk radio. So, it's all very simple. If they can't succeed, destroy the genre. Their original plan was to wait until Democrats control the congress and the White House and then murder talk radio with the so-called "Fairness Doctrine." Now that they're on the verge of having a talk radio scalp on their belts as retribution for a bad and mean-spirited joke, they see that they may not have to wait for the electorate to give them the power.

In the meantime... while the race industry is calling for the head of Don Imus, we have Crystal Gail Mangum of North Carolina. Who is she? She is the woman who falsely accused three members of the Duke lacrosse team of rape. Her unsubstantiated charges resulted in a media firestorm against Duke University and these lacrosse players.

Would you like to spend a few moments comparing the effect of Mangum's charges on the Duke lacrosse team and Imus' words on the Rutgers woman's basketball team? Sure! Why not! Now, let's see ...... The remainder of the Duke lacrosse season was cancelled. They were nationally ranked, and had to forfeit the rest of their games. The coach, Mike Pressler, resigned. "Mug shots" of the lacrosse players were posted on campus. Mark Anthony Neal, an African Studies professor on the campus said that this was "a case of racialized sexual violence." A Durham, N.C. resident called it "racial terrorism." In the middle of all of this we had a district attorney, Michael Nifong, who was running for reelection in a majority-black jurisdiction. There were suggestions that he wanted to be the mayor one day.

Jesse Jackson had plenty to say about this case also. In his column on Blacknews.com Jackson said "Predictably, the right-wing media machine has kicked in, prompting mean-spirited attacks upon the accuser's character." Later he offered to pay Mangum's tuition for a college education if her story proved true. Later he amended his promise. In January he said that the Rainbow/Push Coalition would pay her college tuition even if it turns out she completely fabricated her story! Now isn't that special? Hey sisters! How would you like to get a college scholarship from Jesse Jackson? Apparently all you have to do is lodge a false rape accusation against an all-white college sports team!

Get out your checkbook, Jesse. Now we have learned that it was a hoax. No truth. The North Carolina Attorney General's office has declared the accused players to be innocent. A State Bar investigation of Nifong continues. And thus far Jesse Jackson has not come forward to offer any comfort to the lacrosse players falsely accused by Ms. Mangum.

Now ... why even bring all of this up? Well, we have two college teams in the mix. A Rutgers women's basketball team that is largely black, and a Duke men's lacrosse team that is almost (save for one player) exclusively white. A white man insulted the Rutgers team with a mean-spirited quip. No season cancelled. No coach fired. No arrests. Nobody on the basketball team had to spend tens of thousands of dollars on defense attorneys. They were insulted. The were the targets of a stupid racially charged remark ... but that's pretty much it. But how about Duke? The Duke team members were accused of a crime. Attorneys were hired. Coaches fired. Seasons cancelled. Reputations damaged. DNA swabs were taken. Charges were filed. The district attorney was out there saying that a rape most definitely had occurred. Now we find that they were completely innocent. In the meantime the white man who made the stupid remark about the Rutgers basketball team is being attacked and vilified as if he was a mass murderer. The black woman who made the false charges of rape against the lacrosse team is going to walk. In fact, you can fully expect the civil rights establishment --- the same civil rights establishment that is united in their efforts to destroy Don Imus -- circle the wagons around Crystal Gail Mangum and protect her at all costs.

Oprah is going to have the Rutgers woman's basketball team on her show. How many of you would like to make book on when Oprah invites the Duke lacrosse team to be on her show? When pigs fly.

Back to talk radio.

The mainstream media in this country doesn't merely dislike talk radio, they hate it. Hate it with a blinding passion. How dare these "disc jockeys" get on those radio stations and spout opinions on matters of governance and public policy? Don't they know that this is a job to be left to the professionals at the New York Times and the Washington Post plus the major broadcast TV networks? What's worse, how dare the great unwashed of the general population get on these radio shows, especially the syndicated ones, and spout their ill-advised and uneducated opinions?

Think about this. You have a liberal columnist like Maureen Dowd or the insipid Tom Teepen write a column spouting some leftist dogma. That column gets published in newspapers across the country. Then you have some mechanic from Memphis get on the air with Limbaugh or Hannity to offer a differing point of view. The column may be read by a million people -- at the most. The Memphis mechanic is heard by perhaps five times that many. It just ain't right!

For years now the left has employed various tactics to marginalize talk radio. The favorite tactic is the tired "hate radio" accusation. The general idea here is that anything said on a talk radio show that is at variance with liberal dogma is "hate speech." This tactic hasn't worked ... and talk radio continues to grow.

Well .. now there's a new game plan. Use the Jesse Jacksons and Al Sharptons of this world to attack these hosts on the basis of race. That's right .. this whole Imus affair isn't really about race! The TV networks and the liberal mainstream media haven't been hammering this Imus thing day after day after day because they really care about the racial aspects of the story. If they were that concerned about the racial angle they would be playing up the Duke case to a similar extent. Race is the means, not the reason. Right now the mainstream press sees race as the key to destroying talk radio. Focus on the hosts ... wait until they say something that can be racially exploited, and then launch the relentless attack. Go after networks, stations and advertisers. Concentrate on them -- one at a time -- like hyenas looking for a meal. Select prey that looks vulnerable. Isolate that prey and go in for the kill. I don't know how many hosts there are out there who have not made comments about black politicians, celebrities or culture that could be used as the basis for a full force attack. I know I have. Have I gone overboard? You bet! Hell .. 37 years in the business, how can you not have screwed up from time to time? I've apologized in the past -- and probably will one day say something else that merits an apology. Apologies aren't enough, however. The Christian concept of forgiveness and tolerance means nothing to the "reverends" Jackson and Sharpton. They're sharks .. and there's blood in the water.

By the way ... my guess? Now that MSNBC has dumped Imus, CBS is sure to follow. Look at it this way .... NBC has canned him. How in the hell can CBS stand up to the this racially charged onslaught? "Hey, CBS! NBC did the right thing? How about you?"

EMAILS!

Neal,

I am writing this to you from Iraq. I am a long time listener to your show and really appreciate your hard hitting honest commentary of today's politics.

You do a Great job of telling us how it is. I am going on R&R in a few weeks and will definitely pick up a copy of your new book. I can't wait to read it.

I as a soldier have written several letters to congress and to the President himself regarding the war. In those letters I express my concern for what can happen if we are not allowed to complete our job here in Iraq. I E-Mailed these letters to Senator Isakson, Congressman David Scott (My new congressman due to the fact that I moved to Clayton County), to Congressman Lynn Westmoreland (My old congressman because I unfortunately moved out of Fayette County) and to the president.

I would love to share these letters with you but don't have any way of attaching them to this Message. They are all very similar except the next to last paragraph where I address the person specifically. I wanted to make sure that I get the message across to as many people as possible.

WE AS SOLDIERS WANT TO GET THE JOB DONE, the right way and come home only when it is done. Supporting the troops means letting us do that and giving us the tools to do so. We are winning this war, we will win this war, But only if we are given the chance.

Mr. Boortz, Thank you again for serving our great country and bringing the message to the people. You, believe it or not do great things for your country. You truly are as Sean Hannity says "A Great American". If only more people (those especially on the left) would pull their head out of their fifth point of contact long enough to listen and understand the truth things would be much better.

Keep those politicians honest and the American people informed. Thanks again.

ARMY SRTONG!!! HOOAH!!!

Neal, I just want to make a statement regarding "how well" things are going in Iraq. My son is a Lt.and commands an infantry platoon in SW Baghdad. As recently as this past Monday (April 9) he "once again" stated that there's no way the Iraqi army will be able to hold the country if and and when we leave. He has repeatedly told me that the Iraqi platoon he works with shows up to go on patrol less than half the time. He said you could not muster up half the Iraqi army battalion that works with his unit at any one time unless it's near payday. He said as payday nears, the Iraqi army appears.

ROSIE? I'M GOING TO PRAISE ROSIE?

Yup! Looks like it! Rosie O'Donnell, weighing in on the Imus matters, warns us that the thought police are coming! Agreeing with Rosie. This is going to bother me all day. I need a drink.

MISSING EMAILS AT THE WHITE HOUSE

We have a new scandal element in the Democrat Party attack on the Bush administration for the firing of those U.S. attorneys. It seems that some White House emails may be missing. Not good. The law says that the White House has to save all of those emails. Now we have the Democrats suggesting something nefarious and the White House promising to look for the missing missives. So ... time for an intemperate question. Just why do you think that this story is going to get more traction than the documents that went missing from the National Archives after Clintonite Sandy Berger's visit, or the "missing" Rose Law Firm billing records that mysteriously showed up on Hillary's private desk in her private living quarters with her private fingerprints and private handwriting all over them?

Just thought I would ask.

NOW I KNOW ALL ABOUT THE HOMELESS!

A group of "students" from the Florida Gulf Coast University spent the night sleeping in cardboard boxes outside the student center earlier this week. Now they understand what it is like to be homeless. Will I have some thoughts on this silliness today on the show? Do a hog love slop?

Jason Whitlock of the Kansas City Star says the controversy over Don Imus is allowing the black community to hide it's real problem: the gangster culture. As for Imus himself? Whitlock says his comment was at most a poor attempt at humor and is irrelevant anyway. Don't miss this column today.

John McCain and Rudy Giuliani may be forgiving Don Imus for his comments, but not Hillary Clinton.

She says she's never wanted to go on his show. That grudge probably goes way, way back to a certain dinner years ago where Imus was the featured speaker and dared to criticize the Clintons.

The United Nations needs peacekeeping forces....apparently it's a tough job to fill. So where is the new U.N. Secretary-General turning? How about New York City police officers? He's actually asking the mayor for permission to recruit them. Maybe they could put a classified ad in the paper.

Unbelievably, one of Don Imus' supporters appears to be....Rosie O'Donnell.

She complained about the thought police and talked about free speech rights. So why all the concern? Because she's probably next...especially if the major media companies are running from controversy.

George Will says the rush to push global warming as a complete catastrophe is without precedent.

He says the American people are being indoctrinated with climate change science that simply doesn't add up. By the way, if global warming is so bad, why not ratify the Kyoto Protocol?

So why is the world so concerned about what goes on in the Middle East? Victor Davis Hanson says it all comes down to oil. He also makes a good point to the anti-war, blood for oil crowd. Did you know that the first oil contracts in Iraq went to non-American companies?

So what does Ann Coulter think of all the uproar over Don Imus?

She says we now need a rule book that tells us when we're allowed to say certain things and what we're allowed to say. That would make it easier, wouldn't it? She also lights up the media hypocrisy over the reasons for the controversy in the first place.

Cal Thomas says the suspension and now firing of Don Imus amounts to a media double standard.

What about rap music? What about Jesse Jackson's racist slur in the past? We don't hear about that now...only Don Imus makes racist comments you know.

Robert Novak notes the interesting behavior of CIA Director Michael Hayden,

who seems to be trying to get a job in a Democratic White House. He seems to be going around still grinding the axe about the Valerie Plame outing, for which no one has ever been prosecuted.
