So .. what is going on with the Iowa voters? Have they discovered how closely controlled and managed Hillary is? Do they notice how she avoids questioning by the press and the voters? How about the cackle? Maybe they've figured out that she is just flat-out fundamentally dishonest ... mid-westerners are good at figuring out that sort of thing. Perhaps they now understand that she considers the average Iowan to be somewhat beneath her .. and that she has been sent to take care of them since they're clearly (in her mind) unable to care for themselves. At any rate --- look for a reaction. Hillary is not going to react calmly to the shift in the polls. She doesn't do all that well under attack. Perhaps she'll play the gender card a bit more. Maybe she'll work on her Iowa accent. She'll almost certainly come up with some wonderful new ideas for entitlement programs that would appeal directly to the Iowa caucus voters. Clinton does say that she is going to increase here criticisms of Obama and other Democrat rivals. Super ... we would expect nothing less. But know this: When she criticizes her opponents it's because they deserve it and they're not worthy of the office. When they criticize her it's because she's a woman or because the critics are part of some vast right-wing conspiracy. Please, Iowa. Vote for Hillary. I've never looked forward to something quite so much as I have doing talk radio during a presidential race with Hillary a candidate.
"A man who thinks of himself as belonging to a particular national group in America has not yet become an American. And the man who goes among you to trade upon your nationality is no worthy son to live under the Stars and Stripes." Woodrow Wilson (From Friday Facts, 11/30.07. Ga. Public Policy Foundation)
The global warmers will have you believe that if we don't act now, there will be a huge increase in deaths from weather-related disasters ... particularly for poor countries. And remember, it is the duty of the rich nations to help the poor countries that will suffer more because of the plight of global warming ... we do that by handing over money. But latest research shows that deaths from weather related disasters peaked in the 1920s and has been declining ever since. Warmers say that global warming has been the most intense between 1990 and 2006. However, the number of weather-related deaths during that time period was down 87% from the previous period of 1900 to 1989. The mortality rate from catastrophes dropped by 93%. With the peak rate of deaths in the 1920s being 500,000 a year, the death toll during the 2000-2006 period averaged 19,900. Guess we're just not trying hard enough. By the way .. find a global warming cultist today and ask them what the idea temperature of the earth would be. That's always a fun question. So what happens to countries that signed the Kyoto Protocol but fail to meet greenhouse gas emissions limits? Fines. Lots of fines. Most, if not all of the money paid for by none other than the taxpayers of those countries. Let's take Japan, Italy and Spain for instance. They collectively owe $33 billion in fines for failing to reduce greenhouse gas emissions. And why did they fail to meet the requirements? Because they underestimated economic growth and future emissions from factories and utilities. In other words ... their economies grew better than they expected, and thusly they are punished. So now Spain must pass 40% of the cost for extra emissions on to those successful businesses that helped its economy grow. The other 60% will come directly from taxes. The businesses, of course, will pass their fines on to the consumers of whatever it is the provide or produce. In Italy, the taxpayers will pay 75% of the bill for extra permits ... just to fit into the Kyoto Protocol. And Japanese taxpayers must pay for two-thirds of the nation's excess. In one more case, taxpayers in Ireland will shell out more than 270 million so that Ireland can "buy its way" into meeting the Kyoto agreement. Aren't you disappointed that the U.S. hasn't become a part of this huge income redistribution scam by now? Before we go .. another hint. Warming stopped a decade ago. Over the past three years it has actually become cooler.
Morgan the Mole .. now that does have a certain ring to it. After the Mohammad teddy bear outrage in Sudan, Gray has postponed a reprint of his book, Who's Poorly Too, so that the name could be changed. The book has sold over 40,000 copies. He has other characters such as Dipak the Dalmatian and Pedro the Penguin ... all of his characters were named in an effort to be "inclusive." Excuse me while I get rid of my breakfast.
John Murtha took a short trip to Iraq last week. I guess it didn't take him long to figure out what many have been saying for months ... the surge is working. When describing Bush's troop surge, Murtha said, "I think the 'surge' is working ...But the Iraqis have got to take care of themselves." Well ... duhhhhh. Of course, groans from Defeatocrats can be heard echoing through the chambers of Congress. A top House Democratic aide said, "This could be a real headache for us ... Pelosi is going to be furious."
The University of Texas Medical Branch may have to stop offering cancer care to illegal aliens because it is getting too expensive. The hospital already sets aside $12 million a year out of its $1.4 billion annual budget to treat indigent and illegal cancer patients. But the vice president and CEO of hospitals and clinics says that it isn't enough to meet demands. The medical branch has already lain off 381 employees last year. Its Cancer Patients Acceptance Committee has been studying the issue of denying access to illegal immigrants to help alleviate financial pressure ... but, for hospitals, this raises ethical questions. Dr. Howard Brody, director of the Institute for the Medical Humanities and chair of the medical branch's ethics committee says that they have to start drawing the line somewhere. He says that if the poor and illegal want access to medical care, then the voters of Texas should step up and provide more resources. Look .. just take a fraction of that budget and use it for airline tickets. I understand that there are several flights every day from Austin to Mexico. Government school officials in the Spokane school district have been fielding calls from angry parents. In a December newsletter for families of elementary school students, the Spokane Government Schools' list of "important dates" failed to include Christmas. They had Hanukkah, the Islamic holy day of Eid al-Adha, Kwanzaa, the first day of winter, "winter break" ... and even Human Rights Day. But Christmas just happened to be mistakenly left off the list. Those of you who think that was a mistake, please pull your heads out of your asses. Sorry .. but you do need some strong language. To make up for it, Christmas has now been added to the online version of the newsletter. ...a U.S. citizen! A company is Los Angeles is creating a new mind-numbing reality game show called "Who Wants to Marry a U.S. Citizen." Its purpose is to create televised matrimony between legal citizens and immigrants with temporary visas. The show's backers hope that the show will pander to the American obsession with reality TV and the political issue of immigration. Hope they have some Brazilian babes there. I know .. I'm a pig. All men are pigs. No exceptions. Ron Paul wins a straw poll in Virginia. This means that when Web Guy starts checking our show email today he'll find hundreds of messages saying something like "Ron Paul has won the Virginia straw poll, how come you're not covering this on your show?" Those messages will go with the hundred or so other messages which say "The Council on American-Islamic Relations [CAIR] is trying to destroy Mike Savage. How come you aren't defending him?" If the people who sent all of these messages actually listened to my show I would be a lot more likely to pay attention to what they have to say.
I'm ready to criticize when Muslims don't speak out against their own radical elements, so I should be just as willing to acknowledge when they do. I will remind you; however, that Hooper has stated that he wants to see the United States under Islamic Law. That doesn't exactly give me the warm fuzzies. While we're talking about this wonderful organization, perhaps you might like to bookmark CAIR Watch. Check in with these folks every once in a while to see what these promoters of the peaceful, serene, loving, warm religion of Islam are up to. At the end of today's reading assignments you're going to see a little goody from the folks at CAIR! Looks like a good Christmas shopping to me! Don't miss it! We'll call this progress. In this column leftist columnist Cynthia Tucker cites a poll which says that 53 percent of blacks say that black people who don't get ahead are "mainly responsible for their own condition." The actual figure would be closer to 80 percent ... but, hey ... at least more people understand the harsh truth these days. She does treat O'Reilly unfairly though ... but since he richly deserves it we'll give her a pass. Here we have Erin Burnett, a reporter for MSNBC, calling President Bush a "monkey" in a newscast. Things must have become pretty hot ... because she later apologized. The French are stunned by the savagery of the rioters around Paris. Why should they be stunned? Do they not remember Daniel Pearl? Remember, these rioters are, for the most part, Muslims. Read the Koran, then get over your surprise. Several men have now come forward to detail homosexual encounters with Idaho Republican Senator Larry Craig. Sucks to be him, I guess. After Hillary's little hostage crisis, she made a phone-in appearance in Iowa where she was booed for her position on illegal immigration. Brazil's government schools will get condom-dispensing machines to help teenagers reduce the spread of AIDS. This comes with little surprise; a new Harvard study shows that promoting "diversity" has a negative effect. Another duhhhhhh. More nanny-state news from Washington. Federal lawmakers are looking for a national ban on selling candy, sugary soda and salty, fatty food in school snack bars, vending machines and cafeteria lines. Illegal immigrants in Washington State enjoy the highest average household income compared to illegals around the country. OK, all you Mexicans around Atlanta .. did you hear that! Washington! Just head to the Northwest ... you'll get there. An atheist group in Philadelphia will display a "holiday tree" on the lawn of the Chester County Courthouse during the "winter holidays," in hopes of setting an example for other communities. A Vermont man faces eviction from a homeless shelter for getting a job ... manning a Salvation Army kettle at a local shopping center. Pay = $20 a day. The largest non-profit Islamic group in Canada has launched two human rights complaints against columnist/writer Mark Steyn for an excerpt from his book where he says "The Future Belongs to Islam." Islamic (what else?) militants in Pakistan have threatened to bomb a government high school if the school administration does not |
