The Green Hanukkah campaign says that every candle that burns completely produces 15 grams of carbon dioxide. The campaign estimates that one million Israeli households light candles for eight days, and it would do significant damage to the atmosphere. United Torah Judaism MK Avraham Ravitz says that environmentalists are “crazy people” who are playing with the minds of innocent Jews. Instead, Ravitz thinks that the environmentalists should encourage people “to light one less cigarette instead." Way to go Ravitz! These climate change people are just getting nuts on us. We need to start a collection of the asinine suggestions they’re making to “save the planet.”
In the meantime .. here are some of the scare stories coming out of that anti-capitalist climate change meeting going on now in Bali: The number of people who will be threatened by coastal flooding will more than triple by 2070… due to “climate change.” More than 150 million people have the potential to be exposed to a “1-in-100 year” flooding event, which is a commonly accepted risk assessment standard. It also assumes a mean rise in sea level of almost 2 feet. The financial impact of this fairytale is $35 trillion, which assesses the value of exposed property. The Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development says that actions needs to be taken quickly to save these coastal “at risk” cities. So which cities are most likely to impacted … Calcutta tops the list in terms of population exposure. Miami, Florida is 9th on the list, and is the only city in a developed country to make the report’s list. When it comes to financial impact, eight of the most financially exposed cities
were predicted to be in Asia. New York is 2nd on the list. And when it comes
to assets, Miami, New York, New Orleans, Tampa and Virginia Beach made the
cut. The global warming scam. An article by Derek Kelly, PhD. The Founder of the Weather Channel says that “global warming is the greatest scam in history. But then, what the hell does he know, right? Another article entiled “The global warming scam” by Nima Sanandaji and Fred Goldberg Eight Reasons Why Global Warming is a Scam, by Joseph Bast. Global Warming? Mark Jaffe, Denver Post. Nine Lies about Global Warming. [pdf] Science for Sale: The Global Warming Scam, from Accuracy in Media This whole global warming/climate change bit is nothing more than the center
of the leftist, anti-capitalist agenda to weaken the economies of the wealthier
free enterprise countries to the benefit of third-world dictators and the so-called “developing
nations.” Just watch the recommendations that are going to be coming
out of the Bali meetings, and see if most of them don’t call for either
limits of the American economy or the outright transfer of wealth from the
United States to the third world.
Norman Hsu was indicted yesterday for swindling investors in a $60 million fraud scheme and for making illegal donations to political campaigns. Donations to political campaigns is a polite way of saying donations to Hillary Clinton. These charges follow similar charges filed in September that prompted Hillary to return $850,000 in campaign contributions. Hsu could face 20 years in prison on each fraud charge – six counts of wire fraud and six counts of mail fraud. He could also face up to five years for each of his three campaign finance violations. What is it with the Clintons and Asian crooks? Why are they so attracted to each other?
FBI data on “hate crimes” was just released, and it shows exactly the opposite of what CAIR would like you to believe … “hate crimes” are decreasing against Muslims. When it comes to religion, the majority of these crimes target Jews. In 2006, 66% of religiously motivated attacks were on Jews. Just 11% targeted Muslims. Keep in mind that the Muslim population and Jewish population are similar in size. Last year there were 156 anti-Islamic crimes, which is a 68% drop from 2001. However, most of these are victimless crimes. So whenever CAIR releases its reports, “hate crimes” include incidents such as a Quran being found in a toilet or trampling a flower bed at a mosque. Oh and let’s not forget to add “naming teddy bear Mohammad” to the list of “hate crimes” according to CAIR. So while CAIR claims that harassment against Muslims has multiplied because of the war on terror … ask yourself what CAIR considers “hate.” Wait .. we already know. “Hate,” to CAIR, is a talk show host who expresses his feelings about the violence present in the religion of Islam. “Hate” is a United States not operating under Islamic Law.
I don’t think it takes the United States to turn international opinion against Iran … I think its leader Mahmoud Ahmadinejad does it for them. His latest idea is to create an international Islamic court to try war criminals and other human rights violators. He claims that bodies like the UN are being “manipulated by the West. Remember … when it comes to Iran and whether they do or don’t have nukes, which would be the biggest error:
I apologize for the fact that this may be too tough a problem for a government educated liberal to solve.
Yesterday I mention the book “In Defense of Elitism” When I put a link to Amazon.com up yesterday to buy the book it was number 200,000+. This morning it is number. 8,329. Not bad. I’m no Oprah .. but not bad. READING ASSIGNMENTS
Arrests of illegal aliens in the South has quadrupled! Gotta love it! Wait! There’s more! Mitt Romney has fired his landscapers because they used illegal aliens to work on his lawn. If we would all do that it would go a long way toward solving the problem. Bill is complaining about the media’s coverage of Hillary… saying that she would be far ahead of her rivals if reporters had covered her record better. Hillary might well be in jail if the media had covered her record better. Remember the Democrats promise of a five-day work week for Congress? Doesn’t look like the case after the New Year. What the hell. They’re politicians. They lie. I talked about this outrageous story during the Information Overload House yesterday. Nurses in Great Britain have agreed to turn Muslim patients’ beds towards Mecca so they can pray … five times a day. Perky Katie has lost a million viewers in the past year. I just feel so bad for her. You just don’t know. Then again, maybe you do. Here is a story about a teenaged girl who has a baby at the age of 15. I guess it runs in the family. Her mother had her when she was 13. Notice that there is not one mention of the baby daddy in the entire article. This is sad. The Roman Catholic Church of New York is producing abuse-themed coloring books to teach children the dangers of being sexually assaulted by a priest. A Saudi researcher found 5,600 websites promoting al Qaeda, and there are 900 new sites every year. Australia’s new Prime Minister is all set to sign the Kyoto Protocol and to establish a carbon emissions trading scheme. Looks like we’re all alone now standing up to this absurd protocol. Let’s see how long that lasts. A government high school chemistry teacher is accused of starting his own meth lab in the school’s lab. Senator Patrick Leahy (a Democrat from Vermont) scheduled a committee vote Thursday on contempt resolutions against Josh Bolton and Karl Rove. Gotta love this report … the problem with speed limits is that they are too low. A Catholic High School in Tampa, Florida has started randomly testing its students for drugs. A man in Nevada may get up to 35 years in prison for cutting down trees that were blocking his view of the Las Vegas strip. How fat have Americans become? This animated chart is an eye opener. | |||||||
