So .. .what in the hell is on my mind today? Did you hear that questioning of Condi Rice before a congressional panel yesterday? Someone .. .and I don't have the time to figure out who it was just now, was questioning about the State Department firing some Arabic and Farsi translators because they were gay. The questioner suggested to Condi Rice that if we are so afraid of homosexuals perhaps the terrorists could gin up a platoon of lesbians to chase us out of Baghdad. Ever since I heard that sound bite my mind has been completely occupied by the image of a platoon of lesbians. Imagine flannel camo.
I do want some credit here for not making any broom references. Wait a minute .. .I just made a broom
reference, didn't I? Evidently some Republicans are uncomfortable
with the idea that debate was cut off on debating Iraq earlier this week, even
though it was really Democrats that limited the debate. They didn't want to
allow other resolutions to be discussed on the floor, so the whole thing was
voted down. But don't tell that to the media. It's always the Republicans'
fault, you know. So here we go again with more Iraq debate. And to what end? REDNECK SCRAP BOOK This video
seems to prove that even in the animal kingdom there's a version of "hey y'all,
watch this!" More in the Redneck Scrap
Book.
Dick Morris has been busy handicapping the 2008 presidential race. His latest proclamation? John McCain is too liberal and Hillary Clinton is like Richard Nixon...she lies about everything. He says McCain may be the frontrunner now, but he'll fade away. John Edwards is coming under fire for his lavish new mansion he has constructed in North Carolina. Evidently people think this doesn't square too well with his "two Americas" routine. He made his money from personal injury lawsuits, so if you've been injured in an accident, give him a shout. Following in the footsteps of President Bush in his two successful campaigns for president, Barack Obama has shunned public funding for his presidential campaign. Here's the real question: will Mr. Campaign Finance himself, John McCain, refuse public money? That will be one to watch. Robert Novak says the Republicans' limiting debate on the Iraq war legislation made them look like obstructionists. Don't tell that to Mitch McConnell, who could care less. Perhaps he'll cut off debate on some of these other war resolutions. Victor Davis Hanson has read Dinesh D'Souza's new book, and his review is not exactly complimentary. He says D'Souza's prescription for what to do about Islamic terrorists isn't all that different than some on the Left. Ann Coulter takes the cable news channels to task for their coverage of the Scooter Libby trial. She also points out that it has been proven over and over again that Joe Wilson lied about his trip to Niger. But don't tell that to MSNBC. Professor Mike Adams, always willing to take on the Leftist establishment at college campuses, is naming names in today's column. For instance, one university refused to spend money on a speech Adams gave...but they funded some other interesting projects. Always a good read. President Bush submitted an almost $3 trillion budget to Capitol Hill, and despite all of the money being spent, would you believe some Democrats don't think it's enough. Cal Thomas profiles one such Democrat in the Senate who thinks Bush is a cheapskate. With the news yesterday that billions of dollars in cash was sent to Iraq, never to be seen or heard from again, Matt Towery tells us it's time to get outraged. The American taxpayer has a right to know how their money is being spent in Iraq. Come on people, you're disappointing my loyal listeners with your lame hate mail. Some have even taken it upon themselves to write a creative hate mail to me. If you're not hopping mad at me for something, I'm not doing my job. Let's see if we can get some honest, heart-felt, scathing diatribes in the ol' inbox. Neal's 0-calorie sweetener can be had at sweetleaf.com. | |||
