DEMOCRATS DEFEND
IRAN
Democrats are sticking up for Iran...big-time. The Islamic
terrorist state led by the loony Mahmoud Ahmadinejad has found some protection
in Washington. Democrats are warning the administration not to do anything
to Iran without building a case first. Meanwhile, Iran continues to
support the insurgency in Iraq that is killing our troops. The defense
department says it has hard evidence of Iran's involvement. Not good
enough for the Democrats.
First up to apologize for Iran is The Poodle: "Every leader in the
region and every observer, every expert here in our country, tells us that Iran
does not want a complete and total implosion in Iraq." OK, fine.
But how does that explain Iran's training of terrorists and their supplies
showing up in Iraq? How does that explain Iranian explosive devises being
used by Islamic terrorists against American troops? You do know that
Iranian projectile bombs have killed 170 U.S. Troops. Perhaps it takes 175
for Kerry to get upset. I wonder if every troop killed by Iranian bombs
will get a purple heart? Maybe John Kerry can give them one of his; after
all, he didn't exactly earn them now did he?
Then we have Senator Jack Reed, Democrat, who just can't believe Iran is
supporting the aggression in Iraq. He seems to think it could just be
"rogue elements" in Iran. Evidently vowing to wipe Israel off
the map doesn't make Mahmoud Ahmadinejad "rogue" enough. Then
there's Ron Wyden, Socialist of Oregon, who is also wringing his hands:
"The administration is engaged in a drumbeat with Iran that is much like
the drumbeat that they did with Iraq. We're going to insist on
accountability." Don't worry, America. Ron Wyden is going to be
carefully counting those coffins. Evidently there is some secret amount
that have to be killed by Iran before we'll do anything.
Once again, the Democratic Party exposes itself as a terrorist sympathizer at
worst and extremely weak on defending America at best. There is no other
conclusion to draw here.
AUSTRALIAN PM VS. BARACK OBAMA
Australian Prime Minister John Howard has gotten into it with Barack
Obama. Said Howard: "If I were running Al Qaeda in Iraq, I
would put a circle around March 2008 and pray as many times as possible for a
victory not only for Obama but also for the Democrats." Why March of
2008? Not only does John Howard have the whole thing figured out from all
the way around the world, but he actually knows when Super Tuesday is.
Outstanding.
Obama came back with some weak response about how he takes the criticism as a
compliment. Sorry senator, but that game is so old it's running on ESPN
Classic. John Howard, who is running for a fifth term, also shot down the
idea of his Australian troops leaving Iraq. "You either rat on the
ally or you stay with the ally. If it's all right for us to go, it's all
right for the Americans and the British to go, and if everybody goes, Iraq will
descend into total civil war and there'll be a lot of bloodshed."
Outstanding...nice to know not every leader in the international community is a
spineless weasel.
This one is a real head-scratcher for the media, too. Especially if Howard
is re-elected, as expected.
A HUGE GIFT TO UNIONS ... FROM GUESS WHO?
Not to belabor this again .. but you do know
about the huge gift that Democrats are trying to hand to unions, don't
you? They want to get rid of union elections. They want to change
the law so that when a majority of workers at a business sign a petition saying
they want to unionize .. the union is formed. Forget the election.
The twist here, of course, is that a worker will sign a petition just to avoid
problems at the workplace .. then vote "no" when the election comes
around. The petition is public, the vote is private. It's called
"going along to get along." Nobody wants enemies in the
workplace. Unions need to eliminate the secret ballot in order to increase
unionized workplaces. Heard a Democrat spokesman on Fox News say that
the Democrat plan is "all about giving them their rights." This
is just the kind of simple-minded idiocy you would expect from someone calling themselves
a Democrat. So ... now you have a right to force a union on a
workplace through threats, intimidation and coercion? Well, I can see
where the average Democrat might think you do. It sort of goes with the
territory. BARACK OBAMA AND SOCIALIZED MEDICINE
I watched liberal Democrat
Barack Obama on 60
Minutes last night. No doubt about it .. he's glib. He's
smooth. Please note, though, that I won't say that he's articulate.
In the last few weeks we've come to know that saying that a black person is
"articulate" is racist.
Oh .. you didn't know that? Where you've
been? Remember when Joe Biden said that Barack was
"articulate?" Well this was immediately translated into Biden
saying that Obama is articulate and that somehow makes him different from all
other blacks who aren't. So now you have to be careful to only give
a white person credit for being articulate. Stray away from this rule and
you run the chance of being called a racist. OK ... back to the socialized medicine
thing. Barack ... like virtually every Democrat candidate ... is pushing
the "universal health care" theme. Know this. "Universal health
care" is just sugar-coated way of saying socialized medicine. The
left has become very adept of late in coming up with clever words and phrases to
substitute for words and phrases to most Americans react negatively.
"Liberal" has become "progressive."
"Spending" is now called "investing." People might
object to government spending, but who would object to some sound
investments? Similarly, "socialized medicine" is now
"universal health care." These people know they aren't going to get
elected on the promise of socialized medicine. Democrats know that the best and most efficient
way to deliver health care services to the most people in this country is
through the private sector. There has been no economic mechanism in the
history of mankind that does a better job of delivering essential services and
products to people quicker and more efficiently than capitalism and the free
market. Democrats know this. You know this. But there is a problem. When the free market delivers the services it
leaves politicians on the sidelines ... with little power. This is
completely unacceptable. The call for socialized medicine is not about a
more efficient method of delivering medical care. It's about gaining even
more power over the everyday lives of Americans. When you control
someone's health care, you control them. DID I TELL YOU?
I told you this was the way it was going to work
out. Last week I told you that the Ditzy Twits would walk away with a
Grammy on Sunday. Well, there's another Boortz "I told you
so." Actually I was a bit wrong. They didn't walk away with one
..
they took five. They won a Grammy in every category in which they were
nominated. Then there's the "spoken word" award. That was
won by Jimmy Carter. Past winners of the spoken word award have been Bill
Clinton, Hillary Clinton and Barack Obama. I searched the records and can
find no evidence that any Republican or conservative has ever won the spoken
word Grammy. Common theme? Anti-Bush. Remember, this is
Hollywood we're talking about here. When Hollywood has a chance to support
their liberal dreams and schemes they will take full advantage of it ... every
time.
I can promise you that if the Ditzy Twits didn't
have such a strong anti-Bush image they would not have won those five Grammys
last night. HERE COMES ANOTHER ONE
One city in upstate New York, Redfield, has
accumulated 146 inches of snow in the latest winter storm to roar through.
Another major winter storm is on the way .... more snow, more cold weather ...
and this one is headed to Chicago. Chicago will pick up a foot or more of
snow in the next day or two. . Below Chicago into the Mississippi Valley
they're looking at another ice storm on the way. I don't know about you
... but a few more weeks of these cold temperatures and 100-inch snows and I'm
going to really be fed up with this global warming. PUTIN ON AMERICA
Vladimir Putin is at it again ... saying that
the
USA wants to dominate the world. This is particularly troubling to Putin
since he actually wants to dominate the world. Perhaps you didn't see it
... but Putin is a new addition to the Parade Magazine list of the world's most
dangerous dictators. OK .. let's assume it's true. Let's assume
that the USA does want to dominate the world. Let's carry it a step
further and say that the USA wants to dominate the world militarily. Do you have a problem with that? Well .. if you're a whining left-winger, you
probably do. So I have a very simple question for you. You don't
want the U.S. to dominate the world. You do understand, don't you, that
some country somewhere is going to dominate the world militarily. Some
country is also going to dominate the world economically. If you don't
want it to be the United States .. then just who do you choose? If
not the United States .. .then who. You know .. this might be a good place for a
little poll. Let's see where you really stand on this issue? Well .. that sort of puts things in a different
light, doesn't it? How things change when you have to make a decision. PLEASE, GOVERNMENT! TAKE CARE OF ME!
Throughout the weekend CBS was running a promo
for Katie Couric and her insipid nightly newscasts. I only saw these
promos because I was watching the golf tournament from Pebble Beach .. hoping to
catch a glimpse of Limbaugh holing a big one. These Couric promos were questioning just how
safe food safety and saying "Why isn't
the government doing more to protect you?" There you have it. Whenever something
happens .. whenever there is a threat .. whenever there is a question .. it is
the role of the government to rush in and protect you. These CBS promos
just serve to promote the idea that the government is there to hold our hand and
guide us through every rough spot in life. We bear no responsibility at
all for our own lives ... it's all up to the government. Music to the political ear. DO AS I SAY, NOT
AS I DO
Remember when John McCain got all high and mighty a couple years ago and got
George W. Bush to sign his campaign finance law? Well, it seems
McCain is
out chasing the same dirty money he once sought to condemn. Looks like we
have a bit of hypocrisy on our hands here. McCain denies it, saying the
media is performing a hit job on him, but really, he shouldn't be surprised.
The good senator was the one who stood up there and railed against money in
politics. He wanted to limit contributions. He wanted to ban certain
kind of contributions. He got George W. Bush, who was previously opposed
to the whole thing, to sign it. But now, he's in a bind. He can't
raise any money from any of the independent 527 groups, because he doesn't want
to look like a hypocrite. And is he going to do what everybody else is
doing, which is to shun public financing and the limits that go along with it,
in favor of all private contributions?
In a case of total political irony, McCain could be done in by the very law that
bears his name.
McCain-Feingold, by the way, is all the astute
freedom-loving voter needs to know to understand that John McCain just is not
the man to be president of this country. AND NOW FOR SOME MONDAY EMAIL!

Just a line to say keep up the good work. REDNECK SCRAP BOOK
If you're a redneck looking to jazz up your bathroom,
this might just be the thing
for you. More in the Redneck Scrap
Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS
Brenda Kelly, with 6 children by 3 different fathers,
doesn't know how she ended up in her situation, says she's being "held
back." Oh yeah, she is. Held back by her unwillingness to do what needs to be
done to get ahead. Video: old lady
vs. honking dude in Mercedes. Old lady wins this round. The Grammy Awards last night turned into a festival of Bush-bashing after those
who voted
elevated the Ditzy Chicks for their opposition to the war in Iraq. Perhaps
the music industry needs a new award...best hatred of a commander-in-chief
during wartime.
Ralph Nader, who otherwise doesn't have much of a role in the political process,
may be in the driver's seat in 2008.
Dick Morris says he could ruin Hillary Clinton's chances of becoming president
of the United States, much the way he did the same thing with Al Gore in 2000.
In that case, Go Ralph Go!
Speaking of the presidential race,
Rudy Giuliani has begun explaining some of his seemingly left-leaning positions.
In particular, one is gun control. He says he used gun control as mayor, but
that it had no effect on hunters. He did come out in favor of a border fence.
According to a news report,
Humvee armor is running in short supply for our troops in Iraq. I'm sure
the Democrats in the Senate and the House, since they are the majority, will get
right on that. Get those appropriations pushed through, boys. Chop-chop.
Hillary Clinton has said she will not support the defunding of the war in
Iraq by cutting off the cash to the troops. She's also refusing to apologize
for her 2002 vote in support of the war. As you might expect, the Left of the
Democratic party is none too pleased.
Robert Novak reports that some of the big money contributors on the Democratic
side are pouring money into the Obama campaign because they don't think The
Hildabeast can with the big contest. And there are some big names with a lot of
dough deserting Hillary.
With the Republican Party increasingly becoming the party for big government and
higher taxes,
George Will says Republicans should just give up on thinking the Reagan
revolution is ever going to come back. Time to be a bit more realistic, it
would seem.
If you haven't been paying a bit of attention to the
Scooter Libby trial, don't worry...Byron York has. He brings us up to speed
on what we've found out so far. So far, what seems to be front and center at
the trial is that nobody can remember anything.
The Boston Globe's columnist Ellen Goodman is comparing global warming skeptics
to Holocaust deniers.
Mark Steyn says it's not worth ruining the economy over a small increase in the
overall temperature of the planet. And he calls himself a "climate
holocaust denier."
Star Parker has some advice for Barack Obama. She says if Obama really
wants to make a difference, he should come out in favor of privatizing Social
Security and also in favor of school choice. But she need not hold her
breath...it's unlikely the diehard Democrat is ever going to embrace either one
of those positions. |
