HE
WAS JUST A POOR REFUGEE
More information is coming
out about this mall shooter in Salt Lake City.
Now that it has been
revealed that this psycho killer is a Muslim, the media is doing its level best
to rehabilitate his image. Turns out he was a poor refugee in war-torn
Yugoslavia that survived a Serb massacre. Too bad not everyone survived his
massacre. Oh, and his family wants you to know they're not terrorists. So
what's behind all this?
The mainstream media
simply cannot accept the fact that a Muslim walked into a shopping mall in Utah
and started gunning down people. His actions must be explained away. Obviously
he was confused...he didn't know what he was doing. So now come these stories
about how this poor guy fled the Serbian massacre in the war in the Balkans. To
hear the media tell it, he's the real victim here...not the people he killed at
the mall in Utah. And so the media apologists continue.
Imagine if he had not been
Muslim, but rather a Mormon...or a Christian protesting abortion ...or Amish.
Would his religion be downplayed like it is now? Of course not. That would be
the front and center headline. But per the pro-terrorist Islamic appeasement
template, the media must never criticize or present Muslims in a bad light. So
he's just called a "gunman."
His family wants everyone
to know they're not terrorists. Well, perhaps they're right...the family aren't
terrorists. But this animal sure was.
MORE FROM SOMEBODY'S GOTTA SAY IT! A short excerpt from the introduction: I am, it is said, an equal opportunity offender. If I come to the end of my
four daily hours on the air and I'm not sure I have gravely offended at least
one group-social, racial, socio-economic, ethnic, political, generational,
regional-then I consider my work that day an abject failure. I begin each show with a simple basic truth running through my mind. "These
people out there doing these dangerous, stupid, sometimes hilarious, and often
strange things have no right not to be offended, and I'm here to see that these
non-rights are recognized and respected." There are no taboos on my show. Race, gender, religion, national origin,
political persuasion . . . it's all fair game. No political correctness here. People may be able to hide their illogical, sometimes downright moronic,
behavior behind the shield of a convenient group identity in their everyday
lives. But not from me. There's only one real requirement for someone to land in my crosshairs: that
you do something, either intentionally or through ignorance that will contribute to the destruction of the greatest experiment in
self-government this world has ever known-our country, the United States of
America.

BORDER
CROSSINGS DOWN 62%
Remember when President
Bush sent the National Guard down to the Mexican border? Well guess what...it's
having quite an effect. In fact, in one section...illegal border crossings are
down 62%. Imagine how much they'd be down if we actually built a wall and
enforced the law. After 8 months being down at the border, the troops are
having a serious deterrent effect.
And since the main
function of the federal government is to defend and protect our borders, why not
send more troops? How about a troop surge to stop the Mexican invasion? The
solution to illegal immigration is so easy...and so simple...it's right there on
the table, ready to be solved. This is not a complicated issue. All you do is
build a wall along the border, staff it with armed troops and then take the
steps necessary to make it all but impossible for the 12 to 20 million criminal
aliens we already have in this country to earn a living.
The problem, of course,
is that there is no will to do anything about the invasion.
And this success is all
happening even though the National Guard troops aren't allowed to apprehend
illegals. Imagine if they could do that. Surely we could stop illegal
immigration in its tracks. Of course, given their success...the Bush
Administration will probably redeploy them.
THE
NORTH KOREAN CAVE-IN
This deal we've made with
North Korea...turns out to be quite the cave-in. Former UN Ambassador John
Bolton calls it a bad deal and says the Bush Administration is violating its
principles. Evidently we're going to give The Gargoyle and the Norks some fuel
oil and take them off the terrorism list. All in exchange for what? Let's take
a look at the deal.
As John Bolton points out,
the whole thing sends a bad message, and he's right. It makes us look weak. If
you're a terrorist state, like say...oh, I don't know...Iran, all you have to do
is wait us out. Refuse to give up your nukes long enough and we'll cave in.
You might even get something out of it, like the Norks are getting here with the
fuel oil. Under this deal, North Korea will get a million tons of fuel oil just
for shutting down a nuclear reactor.
Oh, and you know how North
Korea counterfeits U.S. currency? No problem! We're going to lift the
restrictions on their banking...so The Gargoyle can fire his money-laundering
schemes right back up. As Bolton points out, we're paying The Gargoyle
blackmail. Of course, as always...the problem with paying blackmail is the
price goes up.
And once again, we'll be
played for suckers. Just like Jimmy Carter was in 1994 and Madeleine Albright
was in 2000.
FEELING LAZY TODAY
Well I think that instead of concentrating on notes today ... I'm going to go
heavy on the reading assignments. After all, these people put in all this
research and time writing these articles ... so I might as well go search them
out and pass them on to you. So look for an expanded reading assignments
below! One more thought .. a hideously insensitive, politically
incorrect thought. I'm just waiting for the day when some home alarm
company ... ADT, for instance ... actually has the nads to put an ad on
television that shows a family being threatened by a black intruder. Have
you noticed that the intruders -- the people trying to break into those homes
--- are always white? 'Sup wid dat? "Although she is formidably
intelligent, there is something scarily inauthentic about her...she
seemed cold and artificial to me, her face a mask, her eyes unlit by
her smile." -- Mary Ann Sieghart, London Times (Now who in the world do you think that Mary Ann Sieghart could
be talking about?) |
REDNECK SCRAP BOOK
I think that with the addition of redneck wedding rings, we pretty much have you covered if you're planning a redneck wedding:
engagement ring,

another limo, and
another cake. More in the Redneck Scrap
Book. READING ASSIGNMENTS I read this every week ... and don't quite know why I
don't include it in the reading assignments more often.
The Evans-Novak
Political Report. They have that part about GOP futility right. Another daily must for me.
James Taranto's
Best of the Web Today! I'm the one who ought to have "rant" in the
middle of my name. Passengers
stuck
for up to 11 hours sitting on 10 planes at JFK International Airport.
Me? I'm popping a slide!
Al Franken wants to be a U.S. Senator. Minnesota is the place to run,
I guess.
Thou shalt not criticize Barack Obama, nor shall thee say that Barack is
articulate, for verily I say unto you that the wrath of the left shall descend
upon you. But dayammmm! That is one articulate brother! Know
what I'm sayin'? Here's someone else who somehow has come to the conclusion
that it is the
role of
the government to address income inequality! My take? Only to
the extent that the government is preventing someone from reaching their income
potential. This website is called
"Stop Her Now!"
Now just who in the world do you think they might be referring to?
Probably not Britney Spears. Now ... once you've looked at the site ...
make sure you come right back here and
click on this link. You don't want to miss this part.
John Fund writes about
the role that
Libertarians have shaped the culture and economy of the United States.
Why don't they get more attention? So .. Barack Obama is oh-so articulate! Michelle
Malkin thinks that he's not quite so articulate when he sets out to
slam our troops in Iraq. I love the word she uses in her title.
Do we really want an "Obamanation?" Now here's a good question:
What is so "conservative" about Social Security reform? It's good to see more people are fighting back over the
global warming mania being promoted by the United Nations.
Thomas Sowell writes about global hot air from the media. Why, for
instance, hasn't the media played up the fact that not one single hurricane hit
the United States last year? You're probably not spending much time wondering what
Vladimir Putin is up to. Perhaps you should be.
Max Boot calls Putin "The louse that roared." Cleopatra was
ugly? The Council on Foreign Relations says that
Iraq is a lost cause. That ought to bring a smile to the faces of
Islamic fascists around the world! Al Gore.
Concert promoter. Can't wait.
Red light cameras? They work! Bring 'em on!
The town of Pahrump, Nevada has repealed its English-only law.
The ACLU claimed the ordinance was designed to "spread fear." Since when is it
spreading fear to require people to speak the language that is spoken in this
country? At any rate, Pahrumpians are back to being multicultural.
An official in Iraq now
says
Islamic terrorist Muqtada Al-Sadr is just visiting in Iran.
I'm sure he'll be back soon. Perhaps he went to Tehran to have his glass
eyeball polished or something. He'll be back in town running the insurgency
real soon.
Former North Carolina
Senator and Democratic presidential candidate
John Edwards is finally being honest about what he stands for.
He's calling for the cutting off of funds for the troops in Iraq. Will other
Democrats follow suit? Probably not.
Barack Obama is a
smoker...and that's been making quite a bit of news lately. Turns out he's not
the only one in Washington that smokes,
so the Washington Times decided to do a story on it.
Oh, and the first Muslim elected to Congress called the cops on the congressman
next door for smoking.
The media seems obsessed
with making sure we don't do anything to punish Iran.
Yet as Victor Davis Hanson points out, Iran's growing list of offenses cannot be
ignored. They're
manufacturing bombs that blow up our troops...why shouldn't we do something?
Columnist Debra Saunders takes a look at the presidential candidacy of Rudy
Giuliani and whether
or not he has what it takes to occupy the Oval Office. She concludes he does,
says he would make the tough decisions at the White House.
Speaking of presidential
candidates, there are some people running that don't seem to have a very good
chance of winning.
George F. Will profiles one such long-shot bid,
that of Congressman Duncan Hunter. He says Hunter is an interesting candidate.
And now here's part three of Thomas Sowell's series of columns on Global
Warming. Today he
looks at the myth that all scientists agree on global warming...when they
don't. By the way, here's a good question posed by Sowell. If global warming
caused all the hurricanes in 2005, what about the lack of hurricanes in 2006?
Here we go again with
North Korea.
Cal Thomas reports on the latest agreement with the Norks...and
wonders why we've made another deal with them. Didn't we do the same thing in
1994...then again in 2000? Why should we believe them this time?
Does a pro-choice
candidate like Rudy Giuliani stand any chance of winning the Republican
presidential nomination? What about Mitt Romney, who for a long time was very
much pro-choice?
Jonah Goldberg looks at the politics of abortion in 2008.
