THANK YOU DAYON! ---- BOORTZ IN HOUSTON!

The Neal Boortz Somebody's Gotta Say It book tour reached Houston, Texas this morning after an absolutely incredible event last night in Dayton, Ohio.

I still don't quite understand why, but Dayton is an absolute must when it comes to book signings. After finishing the show at 580 WDBO in Orlando yesterday we headed north ... arriving at Books & Company at the Green in Dayton at around 6:20. To say the place was packed would be an understatement. They tell me we signed somewhere around 600 books before we headed out to dinner with the WHIO crowd at Fleming's.

I really want to find a way to express my appreciation to you folks here somehow. I get up at 4:00 a.m. to do show preparation, finish the show - head to the airport - change planes in Cincinnati - rush from the Dayton airport to the book store - and I'm feeling exhausted. Then I see that crowd of people who came out in 20 degree weather to say hi and buy the book and I feel like a million bucks. I'm humbled by all of this ... and I just hope to find a way to let you know how much you mean to me. i spend day after day looking at essentially two faces, Royal and Belinda. When I get to see the people who actually listen to the show and buy my book I'm overwhelmed.

CAN WE MAKE NO. 1?

Well --- we're sure giving it a go. Around noon today (Saturday) I was No. 1 on the Amazon.com nonfiction list. By late afternoon I was back to No. 2. It's been confirmed that Somebody's Gotta Say It was the No. 1 seller at many national book selling chains this week. I'm also hearing from many people who have already read the book and really enjoyed it. Again .. thanks. You can get one on line by clicking on the links below.

Tonight I'm speaking at the dinner meeting of the Young Conservatives of Texas. If I don't bore them to death we'll then sign a few books.

WHILE ON THE ROAD....

I've had some people ask me how I handle the show prep and printing while I'm on the road with Somebody's Gotta Say It. So, for you tech types out there ... here are some details. The laptop comes, of course, from Vision Computers. I don't have all the gee-whizz details, but there's more computing power in this laptop than there was on the Apollo mission to the moon. I connect to the Internet pretty much anywhere through a Cingular aircard. The printer -- and it's a gem -- is a Canon iP90. Small, fast, and can even print pictures! All of this goes into one simple little rolling computer case the size of a large briefcase. Ain't technology grand?

DEMOCRATS PUSH FOR SURRENDER

The Democrats are running full steam ahead with trying to cut off our troops in Iraq and ensure failure and surrender in Iraq. Their latest plan is to push through a piece of legislation revoking Bush's authority to wage war in Iraq. You mean the same authority those same Democrats voted to give George W. Bush in 2002? Yeah..that's the one. So what does this latest legislation do? Read on to find out.

This isn't like the other non-binding resolutions that just disapprove of the war in Iraq or the way it is being handled. No, this one would have teeth. So far, one draft would restrict the troops in Iraq to fighting Al-Qaeda only. Are they kidding? Guess not. So now we have 100 commanders in chief in the United States Senate that are going to decide who the troops can fight and who they can't. Unbelievable...this is what the left calls "limiting the mission."

Instead of trying to tie the hands of our troops in Iraq, the Democrats need to either cut off funding for the war or sit down and shut up. It really makes you wonder just whose payroll these politicians are on these days. The Islamic fascists who want us dead must be partying BIG TIME!

LIEBERMAN MIGHT SWITCH PARTIES .... BUT IS HE REALLY THAT SMART?

Connecticut Senator Joe Lieberman says if Democrats move to cut off funding for U.S. troops, he'll switch to the GOP. That would end the Democrats' majority in the Senate and put Harry Reid back in the minority leader's office. Some may think there's no way he'll do that. But those are probably the same people that didn't think he'd run for re-election as an Independent after losing the Democratic primary.

That would be something, wouldn't it? Here you have the 2000 Democratic nominee for vice president talking about moving to the other side. He's already not really a Democrat...having continued to run for Senate after losing the Democratic primary in 2006. So why not make the switch? He is currently aligning himself with a political party that opposes the War On Terror and promotes a policy of Islamic terrorist appeasement.

If he doesn't change his mind, he'll be switching. Democrats aren't going to quit trying to stop the war in Iraq...and cutting off funding is the next logical step.
How about switching to the Libertarian Party?

STOPPING ILLEGAL IMMIGRATION

Looks like the Feds are finally doing something about illegal immigration...sort of. They've indicted three cleaning company executives for tax evasion. That is, collecting income tax from illegals, but not sending it to the IRS. How about indicting them for hiring the illegals in the first place? Oh wait...we don't arrest people in this country for being illegal aliens. Darn.

But really, this is the way illegal immigration is going to be stopped, if we ever do anything about it. As long as there are companies willing to employ illegals, the Mexican invasion will continue. It's a simple issue of supply and demand. If the government and law enforcement would make hiring illegals expensive and painful, the practice would stop.

In the case of these three executives, if they had paid the taxes on the illegals, nothing would've happened to them. So the message is clear: hire as many illegals as you want..just pay off the government in the process and you'll be fine.

READING ASSIGNMENTS

A 70-year-old retired military man on vacation in Costa Rica put a mugger in a headlock and snapped his neck. No more mugger...he was DOA and is now enjoying his dirt nap. That'll teach hoodlums to hold up a tour bus full of senior citizens.

Here's a statistic for you about the high cost of illegal immigration. More Americans have been killed by illegal aliens than the war in Iraq, according to a new study. But for some reason, you just don't hear too much about it in the media. Can't imagine why.

James Carville has come out swinging for his old boss, Hillary Clinton. He says she won't be "swift-boated" in the upcoming 2008 presidential campaign. Maybe not...but imagine all of the skeletons in her closet. We're sure to hear about all of it in the coming months.

The money train continues to run in the political world...with Republicans ahead of the Democrats by almost 2 to 1. When it comes to campaign financing, John Edwards and The Hildabeast have turned down public financing...while Barack Obama is trying to figure out how to do both.

Iran is ignoring the U.N. Security Council's ultimatum to stop enriching uranium. As a result, the U.N. will now impose sanctions....maybe. I'm sure the mullahs in Iran are shaking in their turbans. Saddam Hussein ignored the U.N. for what...12 years?

Charles Krauthammer holds the Democrats' feet to the fire on the war in Iraq. For all of their criticism now, large majorities of Democrats authorized the use of force in 2002, using the exact same information and intelligence the Bush Administration had.

Pat Buchanan notes that the "Coalition Of The Willing" that went to war with us in Iraq is no more. The Brits are going home and other countries left a long time ago. Hey, we still have the Aussies. At any rate, Pat says it's all one big "I told you so" from people who opposed the war.

Columnist Mark Steyn says Tony Blair made the right call pulling out his troops in Iraq....because they just aren't needed anymore. Did you know that 80% of the violence in Iraq happens within 50 miles of Baghdad? Yup...it's true.

Robert Novak weighs in on the conflict between Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton and David Geffen. He says the whole thing started back in 2001 when Bill Clinton was busy pardoning people on his last day in office...and passed over a few Hollywood wanted pardoned.

Barack Obama is pushing the idea of unions to create prosperity in the middle class. Thomas Sowell takes exception to that, saying unions don't create prosperity...and that's why they're slowly starting to disappear.
