Hump Day - January 10, 2007
George Bush will be talking to the American people tonight about his plans for the Iraq front in the War on Islamic Fascism. This is not just another speech. There is one difference between George Bush and, I believe, the majority of Americans. President Bush still recognizes the threat to this country and to Western culture that is presented by the relentless Islamic Fascists. He understands that their goal is a world dominated by Islam, and that they are very patient and determined. Bush also believes that America can turn the tide. If not America, who? If we don't stand up to militant Islam, who will? Europe? Bwahahahahaha .... are you freaking kidding me? Do you think you can put aside your entertainment programming long enough this evening to watch what is sure to be a very important speech? Perhaps the most important of his presidency.
The Nation's Disgrace, Massachusetts Senator Ted Kennedy, decided to preempt President Bush yesterday with a little speech of his own. We already know that Kennedy is a coward. I know you're tired of hearing this, but you have to understand the quality of the man speaking these words. This is a man who let a woman (his date for the night?) suffocate in the back seat of his car while it sat in four feet of water as he paced up and down a nearby road trying to figure out how to salvage his political career. Anyway .. Kennedy has made it clear. No
more money for any more troops in Iraq. Winning is no longer an option to
Kennedy. Never was. Kennedy would be perfectly pleased to have
Saddam Hussein in power still. You get the distinct impression that the
worst thing Kennedy can imagine would be an actual American (that would mean a
Bush) success in Iraq.
We
are about to reinforce the idea that in a free market economy it is the role of
the government to set wages, and that politicians can, if they choose, use the
police power of government to force an employer to pay an employee more than
that employee is worth. Tell me, how would you like it if the government
made you pay more for a product or service you need than that product or service
is worth? You might think that just wouldn't be right. Well ...
that's exactly what the government is doing to some employers.
Yesterday I went on quite a rant about some leftwing moonbat named Melanie who took great exception to something I said on Your World with Neil Cavuto this past Monday on the Fox News Channel. Melanie got very upset when I referred to high income earners as "high achievers." There is something about individuals actually achieving that really upsets the left. Perhaps it's because they know that when one person achieves it only highlights the failings of the next person who chooses to rely on government. Here again is the Link to Melanie's posting on News Hounds. When I first posted this yesterday there were about 60 comments posted. This morning there were 850. Right behind Melanie's hysterical posting you'll see a link to read the comments. Grab a cup of coffee, sit down, click and enjoy.
This is taking the easy way out. We've gone over this before, but both common sense and studies show that the true problem on the highways out there are people who drive two slow, tailgaters and lane-changers. The next time you're driving on an expressway keep tract of the number of times you have to change what you're doing on the road because of a fast driver. How many times do you have to change your speed or your lane because someone is driving faster than you are? Now remember ... we're talking just speed. You may have to slow down because someone swerves into your lane .. but how many times do you have to change your speed or anything else about your driving technique simply because someone goes by driving ten or twenty miles per hour faster than you are. Ahhh .. but how many times do you have to change what you're doing because of a slower driver? You're doing the speed limit in one of the left lanes, and suddenly you're behind a minivan going 10mph slower than you are. You have to (1) slow down, and (2) change lanes. Then you (3) speed up and then (4) change back into your travel lane after you've gone around the bluehair. The slowing down and lane often creates a ripple effect though the other drivers on the road. One of them may be caught off guard .. and a crash ensues. Politicians love speeding enforcement because it creates revenue. It's just so easy. Determine someone's speed, and write a ticket. It's far more difficult to make a case in traffic court for dangerous lane-changing or for driving two slowly. Perdue is taking the easy way out here. Go after the people who are really causing the problems and maybe some lives will be saved.
OK ... nothing earthshaking here. I just saw that Kyocera copier commercial again on the tube. You know, the one where the chorus is singing "When You're Smiling!" The commercial shows several different people in the office making use of Kyocera technology. I want to know where this office is. Wow! What a place! Every single person who works in that case is a drop-dead knockout. There's not one fat person working in that office. Perfect bodies .. perfect faces ... every one. Don't you just love it when commercials reflect real life like this one? REDNECK SCRAP BOOK I bet lots of redneck kids found this under the Christmas tree this year. More in the Redneck Scrap Book.
